TAKATA RECALL THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN I HIT BLACK ICE WENT OFF A 150FT CLIFF UP NORTH SHOULDN'T BE ALIVE SEAT BELT DID HELP.THIS HAPPEN DEC 12018 IN THE EARLY MORNING WAS GOING TO WORK AND WENT AROUND CORNER HIT GUARD RAIL FIRST PASSENGER AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY AT ALL ON MY WAY TO TRUCKEE CAN, HAPPEN RIGHT AFTER BISHOP CA WENT TO TRAMA
I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT WHEN MY 2007 TOYOTA YARIS WAS RAMMED FROM BEHIND IN A REAR END COLLISION. I SUSTAINED SEVERAL INJURIES. MY AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY, BUT THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. IN ADDITION, THE SEATBELTS DIDN'T WORK EITHER. I SUFFERED A COMMINUTED FRACTURE TO MY LEFT DISTAL CLAVICLE, FRACTURED L1 TRANSVERSE PROCESS, AND I'M HAVING SURGERY TO FIX THE PROBLEMS THAT WERE CAUSED FROM MY FACE HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS HAPPENED ON OCT 20, 2015 AND I JUST FOUND OUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2007 TOYOTA YARIS'. I CAN PROVIDE ADDITION INFORMATION IS NEEDED.
AT A LOW SPEED ACCIDENT SEAT CAME FORWARD, AIRBAG EXPLODED UNEVENLY, ENGINE MOUNT CAME LOOSE.

THE REAR PASSENGER SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V168000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, A NOTIFICATION LETTER WAS NOT RECEIVED UNTIL JULY OF 2015. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A COMPRESSED SPINAL FRACTURE AND WHIPLASH INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V168000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,218.

THE MANUFACTURER DENIED THAT THE DRIVER SEAT MOVED FORWARD DURING THE CRASH. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DEEMED THE VEHICLE DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.

I WAS IN A 5 CAR ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY. A CAR HAD HIT ANOTHER CAR WHICH HAD HIT MY CAR REAR AND IN TURNED CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND THEY IN TURN HIT ANOTHER CAR. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF. I WANTED TO REPORT THIS FAILURE TO THE CAR MANUFACTURER. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT GO OFF BECAUSE I HAD BEEN HIT IN THE REAR. HE HAD NO ANSWER WHY THE AIRBAGS STILL DID NOT OFF WHEN I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. HE SENT ME A PAMPHLET ON HOW AIRBAGS WORKED. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM TOYOTA AGAIN. *TR
THE OPERATOR WAS DRIVING A 2007 TOYOTA YARIS (4-DOOR SEDAN) AROUND A SLIGHT TURN IN THE ROADWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 35 TO 40 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ENCOUNTERED "BLACK ICE" AND LOST TRACTION. THE CAR BEGAN TO SLIDE AND SPIN, WHICH WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH THE HIGHWAY GUARD RAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS INSTANTLY RENDERED A TOTAL LOSS AND DAMAGE TO BOTH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE (ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT) AND GUARD RAIL WERE VERY EXTENSIVE. UNFORTUNATELY, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AT ANY POINT DURING THE COLLISION. *TR
ON SATURDAY OCT. 1ST A TAXI RUN THE RED LIGHT. AND WE CRASH, MY CAR IS A TOTAL LOST BUT THE AIR BAGS IN THE FRONT FAILS TO OPEN. I CONSIDER BY THE IMPACT SHOULD BE OPEN. I WONDER IF OTHER CASES ABOUT TOYOTA CARS AIR BAGS HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN AN OPPOSING VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACTS VEHICLE, CAUSING THE TIRES TO PARTIALLY BE LIFTED FROM THE GROUND AND TURNED INTO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED THREE FRACTURED RIBS, A BROKEN LEFT ARM AND SEVERAL BRUISES TO THE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SAVAGE LOT. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY WITH THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH TRAFFIC CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO THE 2007 TOYOTA YARIS, 4 DOOR AND INSTEAD OF BRAKING NORMALLY, THE BRAKES LOCKED, CAUSING THE CAR TO SLID 30-40 FEET, STRIKING THE STOPPED CAR IN FRONT OF MINE. THE IMPACT CAUSED SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE AND YET NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO SERIOUS INJURIES, HOWEVER BOTH THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND THERE WERE NO OTHER FACTORS THAT WOULD HAVE AFFECTED THE INCIDENT. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2007 TOYOTA YARIS AND WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY. SHE LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO COAST DOWN THE RAMP TO WHERE THE TRAFFIC WAS STOPPED. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. SHE SWERVED TO AVOID REAR ENDING THE ROW OF STOPPED CARS IN FRONT OF HER AND ATTEMPTED TO GO BETWEEN THE 2 LANES OF CARS ON THE RAMP. SHE CLIPPED A TRUCK AND THE CAR TURNED OVER ON ITS RIGHT SIDE, CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE YARIS. MY WIFE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH THANKFULLY ONLY MINOR INJURIES. MY WIFE AND I BELIEVE THIS IS AN OCCURRENCE OF THE WELL KNOWN TOYOTA 'SUDDEN ACCELERATION' PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH THIS MODEL IS NOT ON THEIR RECALL LIST. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA YARIS. THE CONTACT STATED AS SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES ATTEMPTING TO YIELD FROM SPEEDS OF 15 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN THE OPEN THROTTLE POSITION. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RETURN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE IDLE POSITION AND PROCEEDED TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE FOR MINOR BACK INJURIES. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE POLICE ARRIVED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED ACCORDINGLY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 49,064.
MY SON [XXX] OWNER OF A 2007 TOYOTA YARIS WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN (SUGARLAND) HOUSTON,TX ON FEB19TH,2010 ON HWY 59 NORTHBOUND AT APPROX 9.30PM, IN WHICH HE WAS IN A LEFT LANE TRAVELING AT APPROX 60 MPH. TWO OR THREE CARS AHEAD OF HIM HAD DROPPED SOME DEBRIS. WHILE DODGING THE DEBRIS, HIS LEFT REAR TIRE CLIPPED THE WOODEN BLOCK, HE HIT THE CONCRETE BARRIER ON THE LEFT AND HIS CAR FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES AND HE LANDED UPSIDE DOWN CAUSING THE WHOLE HIGHWAY TO SHUT DOWN. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS, SIDE OR FRONT EVER DEPLOYED. HE OCCURRED INJURY TO HIS LEFT HAND, WHICH IS HIS DOMINANT HAND, BROKE ONE TENDON, AND CRUSHED TWO FINGER. HE ALSO OCCURRED MINOR INJURIES ON HIS UPPER AND LOWER LEFT EYE. HE WAS ADMITTED IN HERMAN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, SUGARLAND IN EMERGENCY. ON FEB 26TH, HE HAD TO HAVE SURGERY ON HIS LEFT HAND MAJORITY OF TOYOTA YARIS OWNERS ARE COLLEGE KIDS. WHAT KIND OF SAFETY FEATURE IS THIS? WHERE THE AIR BAGS STAYS THERE WHEN YOU ARE IN A CRASH. I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 TOYOTA YARIS ON MARCH 30,2010 AROUND 1600 HRS AND THE ACCELERATOR STUCK IN THE FULL THROTTLE POSITION AND CAUSED A COLLISON AFTER THE BRAKES FAILED TO HOLD THE VEHICLE BACK FOR APPROX 200 FEET DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN A GOOD SAMARITAN STOPPED THE ACCELERATOR WAS STILL STUCK FULL THROTTLE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SKID OFF THE ROADWAY INTO A DITCH WHERE IT TRAVELED DOWN THE DITCH COMING TO REST AGAINST A LARGE BOULDER. I SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND KNEE AND HIP PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE IMPACT. I AM WISHING TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT SINCE YARIS HAS NOT BEEN MENTIONED IN ANY OF THE LITERATURE I HAVE FOUND PRINTED BY TOYOTA. MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT BRYAN EASLER TOYOTA IN HENDERSONVILLE NC AND HAD 50000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED AT THIS LOCATION AND THEY SHOULD HAVE ANY RECORDS YOU REQUIRE. YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
