WAS DRIVING MY 2005 CHEVY COLORADO AND VERY TIRED VEERED OFF THE COUNTY ROAD, HIT A UTILITY POLE ON LEFT SIDE FRONT AND TRUCK ROLLED OVER AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. AS A RESULT, TO THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NOSE AND LEGS INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
LOSS CONTROL OF VEHICLE ON BLACK ICE; CAR SPUN AND ROLLED AT LEAST ONE TIME. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY; PERSON HAD TO BE CUT OUT OF VEHICLE DUE TO THE DOORS NOT BEING ABLE TO UNLOCK. *TR
AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY AND SEATBELT RESTRAINT FAILED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH TELEPHONE POLE. DATA EVENT RECORDER/AIRBAG CONTROLLER P/N 15106281, SERVICE #12249529, S/N AS6281K150131NEN WAS INSPECTED AND FOUND TO BE NON-FUNCTIONAL BY BILL REHM TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE BY MR. REHM AND REPRESENTATIVES OF BOSCH, MANUFACTURER OF THE DATA RETRIEVAL SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE. THE CONTACT WAS A PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE DRIVER, WHO WAS TRAVELING 65 MPH, ABRUPTLY APPLIED THE BRAKES IN AN ATTEMPT TO AVOID STRIKING A DEER. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET COLORADO EXTREME LS. THE CONTACTS HUSBAND WAS DRIVING WHEN HE HIT A DEER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE SEAT BELT HARNESS CAME OUT OF THE FLOOR CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO HIT THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 65 MPH AT THE TIME OF THE COLLISION. THE PASSENGER HAD SEVERAL BULGING DISC IN THE NECK AND BACK ALONG WITH INJURIES TO HER HIP. THE CONTACT WAS STILL GETTING TREATMENT FOR SEVERAL INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE. THE FIRE AND RESCUE TEAM INFORMED HER THAT THE SEAT BELT HARNESS DETACHED DURING THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED BUT HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 87000. UPDATED 01/13/11*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE SHOULDER HARNESS RIPPED RETRACTOR OUT OF THE FLOOR BOARD. THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR FAILED TO SECURE HER AND AS A RESULT, SHE SUFFERED SEVERE INJURIES. ON WAY TO WORK, I STARTED BRAKING WHILE SLOWLY COMING TO A RED LIGHT. MY BRAKES DID NOT STOP ME AND I CRASHED INTO ANOTHER TRUCK. I HAD EXTENSIVE FRONT END DAMAGE,WHILE THE OTHER VEHICLE HAD NONE. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR.ALSO NOTICED PULLING TO THE RIGHT....HAD NEW TIRES AND ALIGNMENT AT SEARS(WELL AFTER THE ACCIDENT) AND, THEY SAID BRAKES WERE FINE AND DID AN ALIGNMENT. WHEN I HAD THE ACCIDENT DAMAGE REPAIRED, I ASKED THE DEALER SHIP TO CHECK THE BRAKES. THEY SAID THEY PULLED THE WHEELS AND CHECKED THE BRAKES AND ROAD CHECKED THE TRUCK, THE BRAKING INCIDENT FAILED TO HAPPEN FOR THEM. SO THEY CLAIMED. I HAVE ALSO HAD OTHER INCIDENCES WHERE THE WHEELS WILL SPIN UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP ON WET ROADS AND ALSO LOCKING UP ON WET ROADS, AND A GRINDING NOISE. DES SOMEONE HAVE TO GET KILLED IN ORDER FOR GM TO SEND OUT A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS DEFECT? MY TRUCK NOW HAS 37000 MILES O IT BUT THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN PERSISTING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE TWO FRONT TIRES AT 20,000 MILES( WHICH I HAD DONE AT SEARS AFTER THE ACCIDENT) AS THEY WENT COMPLETELY BALD. THESE WHAT RECOURSE DO I HAVE? *TR

EMERGENCY BRAKE HANGS DOWN BELOW
2005 CHEVY COLORADO, EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE IS HANGING 3 INCHES, BELOW THE FRAME RAIL, A CLEARANCE OF 11 INCHES. I CAUGHT A PIECE OF REBAR STEEL STICKING UP FROM A CATTLE QUARD ON A DIRT ROAD, AND MY VEHICLES SLAMMED TO A STOP, THROWING ME OUT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT, AND AGAINST THE DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, DISLOCATING MY SHOULDER, A PUTTING MY VEHICLE IN THE DITCH, WITH DAMAGE, TO THE WIND=DEFLECTOR, FOG LAMP, DENT IN BUMPER. MY PHD. MAJOR IS IN CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT ENGINEERING, THIS ROUTING OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE, IN SUCH A MANNER IS AN EXTREMELY POOR DESIGN, A BAD IDEA, AND CONSISTENT WITH THE USE OF INTERN LEVEL ENGINEERS THAT GM USES ON LOWER PRICED PRODUCTION VEHICLES. I WANT MY ROUTING REDESIGNED, AND REPAIRED, SO THAT THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN, JUST MARCH YOUR FAT [XXX] OUT AND TAKE A LOOK, AT ONE OF YOUR COLORADO'S FOR YOURSELF, AND YOU WILL SEE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE HANGING DOWN, BELOW THE FRAME RAILS, AND MEASURE THE CLEARANCE FOR YOURSELF, UNLOADED VEHICLES 11 IN. LOADED VEHICLE 7 IN. TELL ME THE NAME OF THE ENGINEER, WHO IS SO [XXX] STUPID. I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND IN MY NEW CHEV.COLORADO 2005 PICKUP. I WAS HIT BY A VEHICLE AT 40 MILES PER HOUR AND NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. QUIET MORNING NO TRAFFIC. I WAS DRIVING EAST ON 28TH STREET IN GRAND RAPIDS, MI. BETWEEN 15-20 MILES I WAS APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT.NO POTHOLES, SMALL DENTS ON THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY OUT OF NO WHERE THE AIR BAGS EXPLOITED AND DEPLOYED OUT. THE AIR BAG HIT MY RIGHT HAND AND ALSO BLOCK MY VISIBILITY. THIS INCIDENT CAUSE TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, IT TOOK ME BY SURPRISE.
