TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE REAR ENDED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES AND WHIPLASH THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS UNKNOWN WHAT CAUSED THE SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

Motor mounts were damaged and car would shake excessively. got them replaced and they were broken again 3 months later. i have seen several people with the same issue on reddit in jeep renegades models 2015-2016. I was in a fender bender on 8/4/2023 and car was fine for a few days and then it started throwing the engine around again. MY FRONT RIGHT WHEEL COMPLETELY SNAPPED & MY TIRE WAS PERPENDICULAR TO ITS NORMAL STATE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE A HOST OF PARTS INCLUDING THE FR AXLE, STRUT, STRUT MOUNT, MOST OF THE SUSPENSION. ROUGHLY 6MO AFTER THE REPAIRS MY JEEP STARTED HAVING A TROUBLING SOUND & FEELING WHILE DRIVING. UPON GOING OVER ANY KIND OF BUMP TURN REGARDLESS OF BREAKING SPEED, I COULD FEEL & HEAR A PART KNOCKING AROUND LIKE A JOINT WAS HITTING THE WALLS OF ITS BRACKET & IT AFFECTED EVERYTHING ABOUT HOW THE CAR HANDLED ANY CHANGE IN DRIVING CONDITIONS. I WENT TO THE TIRES PLUS I HAVE BEEN USING FOR A DECADE TO DIAGNOSE & THEY RECOMMENDED I GET THE STRUT MOUNT REPLACED BUT CAUTIONED THAT THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS A GUESS AS THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE APART THE SUSPENSION TO SEE IF THE MOUNT WAS INDEED THE CULPRIT. I RECOGNIZED THAT THAT PART WAS REPLACED AFTER THE INCIDENT & IMMEDIATELY SAID WAIT, LET ME CHECK W/MY INSURANCE. I RETURNED TO THE FACILITY THAT DID THE REPAIRS & WAS TOLD THAT MY STRUT WAS 'BRAND NEW' & 'PERFECTLY FINE' BUT THAT MY SHOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I SOUGHT A 3RD OPINION - WHO DEDUCED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NEITHER PARTS BUT WAS ACTUALLY THAT MY ALL OF MY SUB MOUNT BOLTS WERE LOOSE & IT WAS CAUSING MY ENTIRE ENGINE TO MOVE AROUND... I WAS LIKE OK, AND WENT HOME, HOWEVER THE ISSUE SLOWLY RETURNED OVER THE COURSE OF 6-8 WEEKS & THEN 1 MO AFTER THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE ORIGINAL REPAIRS I HEARD A LOUD POP/CRACK. MY FRONT RIGHT STRUT COMPLETELY SNAPPED! I CANNOT SHAKE THE FEELING THAT ITS MORE. ALMOST 6 MO SINCE FINAL REPAIRS (NOV-DEC2020) I AM HEARING & FEELING WOBBLING/BANGING IN THE FR & THE SAME HANDLING ISSUES ON BUMPS AND TURNS. **EVENTS ABOVE SUMMARIZED FULL ACCOUNT OF COMPLAINT ATTACHED WITH IMAGES/DOCS**

WHEN TURNING ON CAR ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THEN EACH ONE STARTED FLICKERING ONE BY ONE. THEN MY TRANSMISSION LIGHT AND WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON. CAR WOULD START BUT LOCKED ITSELF AND COULDN'T SHIFT GEARS . I TRIED UNLOCKING IT AND SHIFTED TO REVERSE IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND WOULD GET STUCK IN THAT GEAR SO HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK AND SHIFT TO DRIVE AND COULDN'T ACCELERATE. COULDN'T TURNED IT OFF GEAR SHIFT WOULD LOCK ITSELF. HAPPENED WHILE HEADING BACK HOME. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SAW THE RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION. THEY ENDED UP DOING SOMETHING ELSE THAT I DIDN'T SAY YES TO NOW THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR IT AND WHILE MY CAR WAS GETTING REPAIRED. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER CAR, I GET IN CAR ACCIDENT IN THEIR LOANER CAR I HAD INSURANCE BUT ONLY LIABILITY. DEALERSHIP WON'T GIVE MY CAR BACK UNTIL I PAY IN CASH A DEDUCTIBLE OF 2,500 AND PLUS REPAIRS I DIDN'T AGREE TO.

I WAS DRIVING ON A PAVED HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN I FELT A SLIGHT WOBBLLING SENSATION THAT FELT LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY VEERED SHARPLY INTO THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK IN MY OWN LANE AND THE VEHICLE VEERED SHARPLY BACK TOWARD MY LANE AND STARTED TO GO OFF THE ROAD. THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED VEERING SHARPLY BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN BOTH LANES AND I HAD NO CONTROL WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR WHEN IT STARTED VEERING ALL OVER THE ROAD. AT ONE POINT THE VEHICLE WAS TURNING SIDEWAYS AND I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO ROLL OVER. I WAS APPROACHING A SHARP CURVE AND THE VEHICLE WAS HEADED TOWARDS A POWER POLE AND 3 CONCRETE IRRIGATION BOXES. I KEPT TAPPING THE BRAKES UNTIL THE VEHICLE STOPPED, RUNNING OFF THE ROAD NEAR THE POWER POLE, BUT FORTUNATELY DID NOT MAKE IMPACT WITH THE POWER POLE OR THE CONCRETE IRRIGATION BOXES. WHEN I GOT OUT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TRAILING ARM WAS HANGING DOWN AND WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE SUNNY, ABOUT 80 DEGREES AND THE PAVEMENT WAS DRY. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED SINCE I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. I HAD JUST MET ANOTHER ONCOMING VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS PRIOR TO THIS; HAD THE TIMING BEEN DIFFERENTLY I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM HEAD-ON WITH NO WAY TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. VEHICLE WAS THEN DRIVEN APPROX. 1 MILE TO MY HOUSE AT 5-10 MPH.

ONGOING ISSUE, BUT TODAY I GOT IN MY JEEP AND ONCE AGAIN MY VEHICLE IS SHOWING THE TRANSMISSION AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, WHEN I ATTEMPT TO PUT IT IN GEAR IT GOES OUT OF GEAR AND INTO NEUTRAL.. ON TOP OF THAT I'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WHERE THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WILL COME ON WHILE I'M DRIVING. MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TURN/ MAINTAIN VEHICLE CONTROL. I EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS SUCH AS THE CAR 'JUMPING HARD INTO GEAR' AS MY HUSBAND PUTS IT; ALONG WITH IT TAKING OFF REALLY FAST, IT'S ALSO BEEN SOUNDING REALLY LOUD AND SHAKING WHEN IT REACHES SPEEDS UPWARDS OF 65 AND REFUSING TO CHANGE GEARS FROM TIME TO TIME... HOWEVER WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A NUMBER OF INSTANCES WHERE THE JEEP HAS CHANGED ITS OWN GEARS STARTING ONLY A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING CAUSING IT TO MOVE INTO THE PORCH AND CAUSE SOME COSMETIC DAMAGE, THIS WAS OUR FIRST RECORDING OF THE ISSUE. WE TOOK IT IN AND THEY 'UPDATED THE CPU' AND IT WORKED OK FOR A FEW WEEKS BUT HAS CONTINUALLY RETURNED TO HAVING THESE FAULTS AND HAS ONLY BEGAN TO WORSEN.. SINCE THEN WE'VE HAD TO REGULARLY GO IN FOR 'UPDATES' REGARDING THE SAME ISSUES AND MISCELLANEOUS ISSUES SUCH AS POWER LOCKS/POWER WINDOWS NOT RESPONDING AND THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING.. JUST LAST YEAR, LITERALLY 1 YEAR AND 1 DAY AGO WHILE GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR BEGAN TO START ITS 'DEATH WOBBLE' AND DRIVERS REAR AXEL SNAPPED, CAUSING THE FRONT TO FOLLOW.. MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME AND WHILE WAITING 2 MONTHS TO HAVE FIXED AND PAYING THE DEDUCTIBLE FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS JEEPS FAULT, HERE WE ARE AGAIN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS.. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL INSTANCES OF OTHERS EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES AND NOT ONLY FEAR FOR MY CHILDREN'S LIFE'S, BUT ALSO FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS ON THE ROAD. CAN WE FIX THESE ISSUES, OR AT LEAST SUPPLY ME WITH A VIABLE VEHICLE??

I am writing to report a recurring safety issue with my vehicle’s transmission. When attempting to accelerate into traffic, the engine revs high but fails to deliver power to the wheels, acting as if it is in neutral. This failure to shift into gear has occurred several times and poses a significant safety risk. I have maintained the vehicle regularly, including recent fluid changes. My research indicates that this year and model are subject to Recall 16V529000, which specifically addresses the 9-SPD 948TE automatic transmission found in my vehicle. I have no record of this recall being performed on my car.

As I was driving the airbag light quickly turned on and off. I did not get it checked out but it is a known issue were the light will turn on due to electrical issues. And if this fails and others or myself are driving/riding in this vehicle and a crash occurs we will not have the protection of the airbags.

I previously had this same issue August 2024 (associated complaint 11608428). My rear drivers side tail light is out completely-no brake light, reverse, turn signal, or nighttime tail light is working. I spent nearly $800 to replace part 68599920AA, as the entire motherboard was fried, as were the connectors from overheating. I’ve located several other complaints with similar issues: 11585014; 11142232; 11023686. This is clearly a defective issue with Jeep Renegades and a safety concern that should be a recall.

I am driving down the road and the vehicle goes into neutral and the engine turns off. I then have to stop the vehicle and restart it. When I hit the starter button. It sputters and then starts. This has been happening irregularly 1-3 times a week since it started in December of 2025.With last time happening being on 2/16/2026.

Low oil pressure indication light came on and then off. Vehicle taken to Jeep, they informed us that the 2.4L engine was consuming oil which led to internal damage to engine. Service associate claims Jeep had a recall on this specific problem with this specific engine.
