VEHICLE ENGINE CRADLE BOLTS FAIL, CAUSING STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT TO SEPARATE FROM STEERING GEAR, VEHICLE WAS MOVING AND NEARLY INVOLVED IN A CRASH. 3. OCTOBER 3, 2000: VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY JIM MAZZ AUTO INC. IN BUFFALO, NY (ENGINE CRADLE, BOLTS, BUSHINGS, STEERING COLUMN) 4. NOVEMBER 2000: GM RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED FOR VEHICLE RELATING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 00V189000 5. NOVEMBER 2000 - PRESENT: SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FROM GM FOR PART FAILURE THAT OCCURRED BEFORE RECALL. ORIGINAL CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. CURRENT CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. 6. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND IT ROLLED OVER TWICE. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES, AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A GARAGE FOR INSPECTION. *AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, CAUSING SEATBACK TO COLLAPSE BACKWARD. VEHICLE ALMOST LOST CONTROL. CONSUMER SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES. DEALER NOTIFIED, BUT REFUSED TO FIX PROBLEM. *AK *ML
DOOR CAME OPEN MAKING SEAT BELT COME OPEN BECAUSE, IT WAS ATTACHED TO DOOR CAUSING DRIVER TO BE EXPELLED FROM CAR CAUSING DRIVER TO RECEIVE VERY SEVERE INJURIES TO FACE AND HEAD WITH DRIVER PINNED UNDER THE CAR. WANTING TO KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS? SEAT BELTS CAN NOT BE ATTACHED TO THE DOOR OF A CAR. HE COULD OF BEEN KILLED. PLEASE CONTACT ME ON THIS MATTER.
WHILE DRIVING ALONG HIGHWAY CAME TO A STOP, LIGHTLY APPLIED BRAKES AND THEY FAILED, CAUSING CONSUMER TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK
REAR ABS BRAKES FAILED, RESULTING IN A COLLISION/INJURIES. ALSO REPLACED FROZEN REAR BRAKE CALIPERS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO LOSS OF CONTROL. CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MID MAY OF 97. *AK
DRIVER SHOULDER BELT DID NOT LOCK UPON HITTING A TREE, ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD. *AK
TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKES DUE TO CALIPERS FREEZING UP. ONE OCCUPANT THROWN IN FRONT SEAT AND OTHER RECIEVED HEAD INJURIES AND A BROKEN NOSE. EXPLAIN IN MORE DETAIL.
WHILE BRAKING AT 15 MPH, THE BRAKES INTERMITTENTLY FAILED. THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, WHICH CAUSED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE CONSUMER REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE.*AK THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW, THE SPENT $1500.00 IN REPAIRS WITH NO SUCCESS. *CB THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE BRAKE CALIPERS. *JB
SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK UPON IMPACT. TS. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED, AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING VEHICLE WENT INTO A DITCH AND FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES.*AK
THE ENITRE WHEEL FEEL OFF AND THE RIM ACTUALLY BROKE IN HALF AND AND A PIECE OF IT WAS LEFT INSIDE OF THE WHEEL. I STILL HAVE THE WHEEL AS PROOF. ALSO I AM AFRAID ABOUT MY ENGINE MOUNT BECAUSE THE STEERING IN MY CAR HAS BEEN ACTING VERY STRANGE FOR A WHILE NOW. IT HAS NOT FAILED YET, BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT IT MAY SOON. *AK
ON MAY 8, 2000, VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SHOP. REPAIRS INCLUDED REPLACEMENT OF THE STARTER AND REPLACEMENT OF THE TURN SIGNAL LEVER SWITCH WHICH ACTUATES SEVERAL FUNCTIONS. ON MAY 13, 2000, MY DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN A 1-CAR ACCIDENT WHEN THE STEERING FAILED DUE TO THE FRONT BOLTS ON THE ENGINE CARRIAGE DETACHING FROM THE FRAME OF THE CAR. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE ENGINE DROPPED AND THE STEERING FAILED. AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATOR DETERMINED IN A REPORT THAT IT APPEARED THESE BOLTS HAD BEEN LOOSENED AND WITHDRAWN SEVERAL INCHES RECENTLY BEFORE THE ACCIDENT, LEAVING ONLY A FRACTION OF AN INCH ENGAGED IN THE RETAINERS ABOVE IN THE FRAME, THEREBY LEADING TO THE FAILURE. IT IS APPARENT THAT THE TECHNICIAN WHO REPLACED THE STARTER DID THIS AS A SHORTCUT WHEN HE REPLACED THE STARTER. SINCE THIS IS DENIED BY THE DEALER, I AM BEING FORCED TO TAKE THEM TO COURT AT THE PRESENT TIME.
THE REAR BRAKES ALWAYS FAILED ON THIS CAR. THE CALIPERS JUST STOPPED WORKING, THAT AND THE CRADLE BOLT FALLING OFF CAUSED ME TO LOOSE CONTROL IN A TURN AND SMACK A CURB WHICH RESULTED IN THE STRUT HOUSING BE BENT ALONG WITH THE RIM. *AK
FRONT CRADLE RETAINER FAILED DUE TO CORROSION, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND LOSS OF BRAKES WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *AK
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SINCE I OWN THE CAR. DEALER REPLACED GAS TANK ONCE, BUT IT WAS WITH A RUSTY TANK, PROBLEMS WITH SAFETY BELTS GOING OUT OF SHAPE, AS WELL AS THE BRAKES NOT WORKING OR CRUMBLING. NEED REPLACEMENT OFTEN. SEE OTHER ISSUES. *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 195R14 )

SEVERE CRACKS DEVELOPED IN THE WHEEL MOUNTING, CAUSING THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM MOUNT, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. *AK
GOT OUT OF VEHICLE WITH DOOR OPEN AND VEHICLE IN THE PARK POSITION. VEHICLE WENT FROM PARK TO REVERSE, WENT ABOUT (30) FEET AND HIT ANOTHER PARKED CAR.*AK
