MY DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL AUTO ACCIDENT. SHE WAS THE REAR PASSENGER OF A CHEVORLET 1995 LUMINA. SHE HAD ON HER SEAT BELT. HER GIRLFRIEND ALSO IN THE REAR, DISTRACTED THE DRIVER WHO LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND HIT A TELEPHONE POLE. MY DAUGHTER RECEIVED A FATAL BLOW TO THE HEAD, LIVER LACERATIONS , FRACTURED RIBS, AND SEAT BELT CONTUSIONS. SHE REMAINED IN A COMA FOR NINE DAYS BEFORE PASSING AWAY. THE GIRL WHO DID NOT HAVE HER SEAT BELT SURVIVED WITH ONLY MINOR ABRASIONS. THE OTHER TWO FRONT SEAT DRIVER AND PASSENGER RECEIVED ONLY MINOR ABRASIONS. THE CAR EXPLODED INTO FLAMES. *JB
I DON'T HAVE A COMPLAINT ABOUT A SPECIFIC MAKE OR MODEL...I HAVE AN OVERALL COMPLAINT ABOUT HOW THIN CARS ARE TODAY AND HOW MUCH THEY ARE NOT PROTECTING THE OCCUPANTS. MY BROTHER WAS KILLED 2 WEEKS AGO AFTER HYDROPLANING AT ABOUT 35 MPH. I KNOW HEAVIER VEHICLES USE MORE GAS BUT AREN'T LIVES WORTH IT? I KNOW THAT AS A NATION WE HAVE BECOME VERY MONEY CONSCIOUS AND GAS MILEAGE IS A BIGGIE BUT EVERYONE WHO HAS HAD SOMEONE KILLED IN A SENSELESS ACCIDENT MIGHT FEEL DIFFERENTLY AFTERWARD. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT IF ANYTHING IS BEING DONE IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE TO CHANGE THE TREND AND MAKE CARS MORE PROTECTIVE.

WHILE DRIVING AT 40/45 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. THE AIR BAG DEFLATED UPON DEPLOYMENT. THE CONSUMER IMPACTED THE STEERING WHEEL. *PH *SCC *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT IMPACT ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED BUT IMMEDIATELY DEFLATED. AS A RESULT THE DRIVER HIT HER CHEST ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONSUMER ALSO FELT THAT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN HER. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. *AK *NLM

WHEN DRIVING 35 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION ,IMPACT FRONTAL ON PASSENGER'S SIDE. NEITHER DRIVER'S SIDE NOR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. ALSO, PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK IN PLACE, CAUSING PASSENGER SIDE OCCUPANT TO HIT WINDSHIELD. VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *AK NEITHER DRIVER NOR PASSENGER SEAT BELTS LOCKED. *YH
WHILE DRIVING IN A SNOW STORM VEHICLE HIT A PATCH OF ICE, AND STARTED TO SLIDE, SPUN AROUND & WAS THEN REARENDED. UPON BEING REARENDED, DRIVER'S SEATBACK BROKE. DRIVER FELL BACKWARDS & LOST VISUAL CONTACT UNTIL VEHICLE STOPPED. VEHICLE TOWED TO SALVAGE YARD & WAS TOTALED. *AK
DURING COLLISION VIOLENT DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG CAUSED INJURY TO FACE, HAND, CHEST AND KNEE.
EVERYTIME THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE FRONT WHEELS LOCK UP; CAUSING VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE LEFT & THEN RIGHT. HIT DIRT EMBANKMENT. ENDED BESIDES TELEPHONE POLE ON SIDE OF ROAD. VEHICLE TOTALED. *AK

THE BRAKES LOCKED UP AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SPIN AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. TT WHILE APPROACHING A 50 MPH CURVE, CONSUMER TOUCHED BRAKES AND VEHICLE SKIDDED, IT TURNED SIDEWAYS AND SKIDDED AGAIN AND THEN OVERTURNED, CONSUMER STATES BRAKES LOCKED UP, CONSUMER WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT, CONSUMER ALSO STATED IN LETTER THAT A GM MOTORS INSPECTOR THAT CAME AND LOOKED OVER VEHICLE AND FOUND A SENSOR HAD SHORTED UNDERNEATH VEHICLE ON DRIVERS SIDE. *SLC
