TL* - THE CONTACT'S 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS PURCHASED USED ON AUGUST 13, 2005 FROM BERGLUND CHEVROLET OF VIRGINIA, WITH 13000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JANUARY 8TH, 2007 WERE THERE WAS ONE FATALITY AND FIVE PEOPLE WERE INJURED. A SECOND VEHICLE, A BUICK LASABRE, FAILED TO STOP AT STOP SIGN WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE STRUCK THE SECOND VEHICLE DIRECTLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 50 MPH. THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND VEHICLE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED, EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE PASSENGERS IN ALL SEATS. SIX STATE TROOPERS WERE ON THE SCENE AND NO ONE WAS SITED.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE CRASH IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER. UPON IMPACT, THE CAR IGNITED UNDER THE HOOD AND FLAMES CAME UP ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE MY FAMILY WAS STILL IN THE CAR. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO GET MY FAMILY OUT OF THE CAR BEFORE IT WAS TOTALLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND DESTROYED BY FIRE. I CONTACTED GM AND ASKED WHY MY CAR BURNED. I TOLD THEM I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY SINCE MEMBERS OF MY EXTENDED FAMILY OWN SIMILAR GM SUVS. I ANSWERED NUMEROUS QUESTIONS ON THE PHONE. I PROVIDED PICTURES OF MY CAR TOTALLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. GM ASSIGNED A CLAIM NUMBER TO MY REQUEST AND ENGAGED "ESIS GM" TO EVALUATE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS, I RECEIVED A SHORT LETTER SAYING " THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE THAT SHOWS THERE IS A PRODUCT DEFECT THAT CAUSED THE FIRE". IT FURTHER SAID, "IF YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL PROOFS SHOWING THERE WAS A PRODUCT DEFECT (S) THAT YOU WOULD LIKE GM TO LOOK AT, PLEASE SUBMIT THEM". THEY NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTION OF WHY THE CAR BURNED. I HAD SENT THEM PICTURES OF THE CAR ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. THEY JUST BASICALLY LEFT IT ME TO SHOW PROOF OF PRODUCT DEFECTS AND TELL THEM WHY THE CAR BURNED RATHER THAN ANSWERING MY QUESTION. IN FACT, THEIR RESPONSE SAYING THERE WERE NO KNOW DEFECTS WAS LIKE SAYING THE TRAILBLAZER IS DESIGNED TO IGNITE AND BURN UPON IMPACT. *TR
DT: THE CONTACT'S BOY FRIEND WAS TRAVELING AT 78 MPH WHEN HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND IT WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL IMPACT. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SIX TIMES. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES. MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. *AK
The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated she fell asleep while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle graced two trees, and crashed into the third tree on the front driver-side bumper. The contact stated no air bags were deployed. The contact sustained a fractured rib on her left side, a lesion on her right leg, and a lesion on her chest and abdomen due to the seat belt. The contact did seek medical attention. The police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The police towed the vehicle to a towing lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 205,000.
AIRBAG DID NOT WORK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED VARIOUS INJURIES TO THE FACE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED FOR THE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER WAS DRIVEN BY MY GRANDDAUGHTER. SHE WAS TRYING TO ENTER ONTO I-10 INTERSTATE AND WAS GOING TOO FAST ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE HAZARDOUS AS IT WAS A SEVERE RAIN STORM. SHE HYDROPLANED AND HIT A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER WHICH CAUSED HER TO SPIN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SHE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE TRUCK SPUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STOPPPED. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY!!! THE POLICE OFFICER AND THE TOW COMPANY DRIVER SAID SHE WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. MY CONCERN IS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE TRAILBLAZER WAS TOTALED AS THE AXLE AND THE ENGINE WERE ON THE GROUND. THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL CAME OFF. I HAVE ALWAYS LIKE CHEVY VEHICLES BUT AM NOW HESITANT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE B/C OF THIS ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAG.

HIT BLACK ICE. TRUCK SLID OFF THE ROAD AND FRONT END IMPACTED THE DITCH CAUSING HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY CAUSING INJURY. *JS
MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER WAS VISITING MY PARENTS IN VIRGINIA AND I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO GO AROUND A CURVE AND THE STEERING WHEEL DIDN'T TURN. I LOOKED AY MY DAUGHTER AND SAID "OH _ _ _ _" AND SHE ASK ME WHAT 'S WRONG? I SAID THE STEERING DIDN'T TURN AND IT WASN'T BUT SECONDS LATER, WE SLAMMED INTO THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND WE ROLLED TWO OR THREE TIMES AND ENDED UP ON THE ROOF. I IMMEDIATELY WENT UNCONSCIOUS BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT. I HAD A BIG GASH ON MY HEAD AND WAS BLEEDING PROFUSELY AND I WAS HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING BECAUSE BOTH OF MY LUNGS WERE PUNCTURED. ALL THE WINDOWS BURST OUT SO MY DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO CRAWL OUT THE PASSENGER WINDOW TO ASK SOMEONE FOR HELP BUT MY SEAT BELT WOULD NOT UNBUCKLE SO THERE WAS AN ISSUE GETTING ME OUT. I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT SOMEONE THAT STOPPED HAD A POCKET KNIFE AND CUT THE SEATBELT TO GET ME OUT. I HAD A BAD CONCUSSION AND I KEPT GOING IN AND OUT . I HAD THREE BROKEN RIBS, THREE PELVIC FRACTURES, A BAD CONTUSION ON MY ELBOW AND I STILL HAVE A SWOLLEN KNOT ABOUT TWO AND A HALF INCHES ON MY LEFT LEG. I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH MY BACK AND I AM IN CONSTANT PAIN AND ON IMPACT, MY SEAT BELT JERKED AND CAUGHT MY BREAST AND I NOW HAVE FIVE CYST WITH THE LARGEST ONE BEING ONE INCH AND THEY ARE VERY PAINFUL. I HAVE TO WATCH IT VERY CLOSELY BECAUSE OF A CANCER RISK CALLED INFLAMMATION CANCER. I WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR THREE DAYS AND I HAVE TO CONTINUE RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE BECAUSE OF THESE INJURIES. MY DAUGHTER IS YOUNG AND NOW SHE HAS BACK PROBLEMS AND PTSD AND SHE ALSO CONTINUES TO RECEIVE MEDICAL CARE . THIS HAS REALLY IMPACTED AND CHANGED MY LIFE AND MY DAUGHTERS LIFE AND I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO INVESTIGATE THESE ISSUES. CRASHED STRAIGHT INTO THE BACK END OF A VEHICLE DOING 60 WHILE I WAS DOING ATLEAST 80, OR 85, MAYBE MORE, I DON'T REMEMBER. THE FIRST THING I REMEMBER SEEING IS REALIZING I'M ALRIGHT DESPITE THE BLOOD IN THE COCKPIT AND ON MY FACE DESPITE SNEEZING WHICH WAS SPREADING BLOOD. IS THIS A VEHICLE DEFECT OR WHAT? MY MATH SAYS THAT CRASHING AT 85MPH INTO A VEHICLE DOING 60 IS LIKE CRASHING INTO A BRICK WALL AT 25MPH.
