THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND IDLING WHEN IT SUDDENLY WENT IN REVERSE. THE DRIVER HUNG ON TO THE OPEN DOOR OF HIS 1994 FORD ESCORT AND WAS DRAGGED FOR 100 FEET. *NM THE CONSUMER WAS DRAGGED 100 FEET AND HAD GOTTEN TRAPPED BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE PAVEMENT AND WAS SUFFOCATED. *SC
WHILE DRIVING, DRIVER FELL ASLEEP AND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A CRASH. *AK
FATAL DEATH DUE TO POSIBLE TRANSMISSION GOING INTO REVERSE FROM PARK WHILE VEHICLE IN IDLE. *JB
VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP WHEN IT WAS REARENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 50 MPH BEFORE SLAMMING ON BRAKES AND SKIDDING FOR 188 FEET INTO THE VEHICLE. AT IMPACT, BOTH FRONT SEATS AND REAR SEAT BROKE AND FELL BACKWARDS. WHILE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS FALLING BACKWARDS, A 7 YR.OLD CHILD SITTING IN REAR PASSENGER SEAT WAS IN FOWARD MOTION WHEN HEAD RESTRAINTS OF FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HIT CHILD IN CHEST ,TEARING VALVE IN HEART AND PUNCTURING LUNGS . LATER, CHILD DIED DUE TO INJUIRES.DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED. CONSUMER CONTACTED A LAWYER WHO SENT AN PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT VEHICLE, AND DETERMINED SEATBELTS WERE IN WORKING CONDITIONS, AND REAR PASSENGER SEAT WAS PUSHED BACK, AND IWAS SITTING UNEVEN. ALL SEATS IN VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE AND WERE BROKEN. *AK
THE 1994 FORD ESCORT IS A VERY POORLY MADE CAR. MOST OF THESE VEHICLES WERE MANUFACTURED WITH AUTOMATIC SEATBELTS, THE MOTORS OF WHICH ALMOST ALWAYS FAIL. OURS WAS NO EXCEPTION. WE HAD A MANUAL SEATBELT INSTALLED-- AT OUR EXPENSE-- AND TODAY THAT MANUAL SEATBELT SAVED MY HUSBAND'S LIFE IN A ROLLOVER CRASH. IMAGINE IF HE HAD ONLY HAD A LAPBELT! FORD REPEATEDLY DENIES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM, BUT FOR EVERY 10 ESCORTS I SEE THAT WERE MADE ABOUT THE SAME TIME, 9 OF THEM HAVE AT LEAST ONE FAILED SEATBELT. IN ADDITION, THE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A ROLLOVER CRASH GOING SOME 75 MPH. I CAN'T SAY IF MY HUSBAND'S INJURIES WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS SEVERE HAD THE AIRBAG GONE OFF, BUT I DO KNOW THAT I WILL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN.
DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT FULLY EXPAND AT THE TIME OF CAR ACCIDENT. CAR WAS TOTAL PER INSURANCE COMPANY. SEAT BELT SAVED DRIVER FROM FURTHER INJURY.*AK
WE HAD AN ACCIDENT JULY 19,2001. OUR AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WE HAVE BOTH FRONT AND REAR DAMAGE.*AK
THE AIR BAG HAS BROKEN 3 OF MY RIBS AND FAILED TO DEPLOY BEFORE I HIT MY HEAD ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD THAT IS WHAT A POLICE HAD TOLD ME. I HAD BURNS AND ALOT OF BRUISING DUE TO THE AIR BAG IN MY CAR. PLUS ALOT OF HEADACHES AND NECK INJURIES BECAUSE OF THAT FAILURE TO DEPLOY SOON ENOUGH AND THEN WHEN IT DID LOOKOUT. THEY NEED TO RECALL AND RETROFIT THESE CARS WITH THE AIRBAGS THAT WONT HARM A WOMEN LIKE ME THAT IS OF SMALLL STATURE AND THAT 9 AND 3 POSITION DOESNT WORK MY ARMS STILL GOT BURNED. I STILL GOT HURT AND MY FEELING ON THESE THINGS IS I HATE THEM. IF I COULD HAVE THEM TAKEN OUT I WOULD. OR BE ABLE TO TURN THEM OFF WHEN I AM DRIVING. ALL OWNERS SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION WETHER THEY WANT THEM ON OR NOT. NOONE SHOULD MAKE THAT DECISION FOR THE OWNER OF THE CAR EXCEPT THEM.I HAD 3 ACCIDENTS ALL WITH AIRBAGS DEPLOYING AND THERE IS NOT ONE INCIDENT WHERE I DIDNT GET BRUISES OR BURNS OR BROKEN RIBS AND MY NECK KNOCKED OUT OF WHACK.*AK
CONSUMER WAS AT INTERSECTION WAITING FOR LIGHT TO CHANGE, AND VEHICLE IN BACK OF HER HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE FROM BEHIND, CAUSING CONSUMER TO HIT VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER. UPON IMPACT, AIRBAGS DEPLOYED/PUNCTURED, AND CHEMICALS FROM AIRBAGS CAUSED THIRD DEGREE BURNS ON RIGHT SIDE OF HER FACE. HER EYE SIGHT WAS DAMAGED, AND VEHICLE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 30 MPH AND WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURIES TO DRIVER'S SIDE OCCUPANT. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK
I WAS IN A NEAR HEAD-ON COLLSION, I DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE BEEN INJURED IF MY AIR BAG WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. IT WAS NOT DISCONNECTED, NOR HAS IT EVER BEEN MODIFIED, AND I HAVE HAVE NEVER BEEN NOTIFIED OF A RECALL. *AK
CONSUMER WAS IN A FRONT END COLLISION THAT CAUSED DRIVER'S AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG CAUSED BURNS TO THE CONSUMER'S ARM. ALSO, FILLED THE VEHICLE WITH SMOKE.. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
VEHICLE HIT A DUMPSTER HEAD ON, TO AVOID A CRASH TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE IS BEING REPAIRED. DAMAGES WAS DONE TO THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF VEHICLE. *AK
DRIVING 35MPH WHEN VEHICLE WAS REARENDED & SLAMMED INTO VEHICLE IN FRONT. DRIVER'S SEAT COLLAPSED BACKWARDS FROM EITHER BEING REARENDED OR REARENDING OTHER VEHICLE. OWNER DOES NOT REMEMBER DUE TO BEING UNCONSCIENCE AT THE TIME. AIR BAG DID DEPLOY & SEAT BELT HELD. ENGINE STILL RUNNING & FUEL CUT OFF SWITCH FAILED. DRIVER AWOKE & CUT IGNITION OFF. *AK *SLC

AIRBAG DID NOT INFLATE IN CRASH, CAUSING INJURY.
(FOURTH TIME), WHEN CHANGING LANES TO THE LEFT AFTER 55MPH OR MORE THE CAR FISHTAILS (WANDERS), AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. *AK
VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND IMPACTED 6:00 POSITION, DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC SHOULDER BELT DID NOT RETRACT, AZLSO NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S AIR BAG, RESULTING IN AN INJURY. *AK
AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHEN HIT FROM THE SIDE AND THE DRIVERSIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.*AK CONSUMER RECEIVED DAMAGES FROM THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, CONSUMER HAS NERVE DAMAGE AND HEARING LOSS. *SLC
AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN DRIVER WAS REARENDED AND THE AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY AND THE SEAT WENT BACK AND TWISTED. PLEASE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL. *AK
