On a fateful day, I, [XXX] , found myself in a harrowing situation on the interstate. While driving, my car unexpectedly flipped over, tumbling four times before coming to a jarring stop. The chaos began when my engine backfired violently, which was followed by the alarming sight of smoke rising from under the hood as flames erupted. To make matters worse, my four-wheel drive system malfunctioned, leaving me helpless and unable to regain control. Despite my efforts, the seatbelt that is supposed to ensure safety failed to hold me securely, and the airbag system did not deploy, adding to the sense of dread I experienced during the crash. As I tried to process the unfolding nightmare, I found myself unable to unbuckle my seatbelt due to the shock and disorientation of the accident. The dashboard's sensors were unresponsive, and my speed monitor flickered as though mocking my plight. In that moment, the overwhelming fear and confusion turned into a painful reality as I was left with a broken left shoulder blade and a fractured left forearm, the break occurring in the upper arm, just adding to the turmoil of the incident. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while a family member was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision. The contact stated that the driver's front air bag did not deploy and the family member died in the crash. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the police impound lot. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 168,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" I BELIEVE MY SON DIED IN A CRASH CAUSED BY A FAULTY TAKATA AIRBAG. MY SON HIT A TREE WHILE SEAT BELTED IN AND HAD NO BODILY INJURIES EXCEPT FOR A SCRATCH ON HIS LEG. I BELIEVE THAT THE SIDE AIR DEPLOYED SENDING A SHARP METAL OBJECT UNDER HIS LEFT ARM SEVERING HIS ARTERY, WHICH CAUSED HIM TO BLEED OUT AND DIED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED AS SHE SUSTAINED BACK, ARM AND NECK INJURIES AS WELL AS THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED BACK, NECK AND SHOULDER INJURIES. THE CONTACT MENTION THAT DUE TO THE IMPACT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLE FRACTURED. THE OTHER DRIVER DID NOT SUSTAIN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INSURANCE MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED BUT WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE ACCIDENT DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
WIFE AND DAUGHTER WAS IN A 8CAR ACCIDENT AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF HIT FROM THE BACK AND PUSHED INTO OTHER CARS AND NONE OF AIRBAGS WENT OFF .BOTH OF THEM WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND WE SPENT ALL DAY IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM.
MY DAUGHTER WAS GOING 30 MPH IN HER JEEP OVER A BRIDGE. THE CAR INFRONT OF HER STOPPED SUDDENLY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP DUE TO ICE AND HIT THE CAR INFRONT OF HER. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THEN THEY WERE HIT FROM BEHIND BY A TRUCK GOING 40 MPH. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ROUTE 72 IN GENOA IL, GOING STRAIGHT. NOT UPLOADING PICTURE DUE TO LICENSE PLATES SEEN.
I HAVE BEEN CONTACTING MY DEALERSHIP SINCE THE RECALL WAS ISSUED ON MY VEHICLE SINCE 2017. EVERY TIME I CALL I AM ADVISED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX MY VEHICLE, TO CALL BACK. WELL IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO YEARS AND I AM STILL TRYING TO HAVE THIS RECALLED ISSUE FIXED. ON THE MORNING OF 4/1/18 I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHEN MY CAR LOST CONTROL AND HIT A TREE GOING BETWEEN 20-30MPH. IT WAS A HEAD ON COLLISION WHERE MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND MY SEAT BELT DID NOT TENSE DURING OR AFTER THE COLLISION. AS SUCH, I RECEIVED A LARGE LACERATION TO MY FOREHEAD WHEN IT HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS MAKING A SLIGHT LEFT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION NEAR A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND THE ROAD WAS SLICK FROM A SLIGHT RAIN THAT WAS HAPPENING. I HAD SKIDDED OUT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND BEFORE I KNEW WHAT WAS HAPPENING I WAS COLLIDING WITH THE TREE IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WERE NO OTHER PARTIES INVOLVED.
TAKATA RECALL- I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON 10/13/16. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN I WENT AROUND A TURN IT SEEMED LIKE MY BRAKES WERE LOCKING UP OR SOMETHING, I STARTED SWERVING AROUND ON THE HIGHWAY AND I EVENTUALLY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND ENDED UP ROLLING THE VEHICLE TWICE BEFORE LANDING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. MY CAR WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. I ESTIMATE THAT I WAS GOING AT A RATE OF AROUND 45-50 MILES PER HOUR. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF. AT A HIGH SPEED IMPACT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF. I SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES, AND I STILL HAVE PAIN IN BOTH MY KNEES.

SOMEONE IN A 3/4 TON WORK VAN RAN THROUGH A STOP LIGHT AND PLOWED IN TO THE RIGHT PASSENGER FRONT / SIDE OF MY JEEP WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WE WERE ON THE CITY STREETS.. THE IMPACT WAS SO GREAT THAT WHILE MAKING THE LEFT TURN AND BEING HIT SO HARD MY WIFE AND I WENT THROUGH A PIZZA SHOP HEAD ON. NONE OF THE 8 AIR BAGS IN MY JEEP WENT OFF. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE JEEPS AIR BAGS FOR WHICH I DID GET A HOLD OF THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL IS STILL OPEN AND NO THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX AT THIS TIME. NOW READING THE JEEPS FACTORY USER GUIDE THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF. THE JEEP DOES HAVE SEAT-MOUNTED SIDE AIR BAGS AND FROM READING THE FACTORY USER GUIDE IT STATES THAT THIS VEHICLE MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH SUPPLEMENTAL SEAT-MOUNTED SIDE AIR BAGS TO PROVIDE ENHANCED PROTECTION TO HELP PROTECT AN OCCUPANT DURING A SIDE IMPACT. IF THE AIR BAGS WOULD HAVE GONE OFF MY WIFE WOULDN'T HAVE GOT SO HURT. SHE NOW HAS A RIGHT CERVICAL STRAIN, LUMBAR CONTUSION, AND A RIGHT CLAVICLE FRACTURE. ALSO WITH THE HEAD ON COLLISION INTO THE BUILDING THE FRONT AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF THEY DID NOT.
AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A 35 MPH FRONT END CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT MADE A LEFT HAND TURN IN FRONT OF MY JEEP PATRIOT.
"AIR BAG RECALL" WAS IN AN ACCIDENT IN MY JEEP PATRIOT AND HAD THE CAR TOTALED OUT. THE SIDE AND FRONT AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED WHEN I WAS HIT.

I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING A COYOTE AND ENDED UP RUNNING UP ON A CURB, OVER 2 TREES, AND INTO A POLE. I WAS GOING ABOUT 35 MPH. THE ACCIDENT DID $5400 IN DAMAGE BUT MY SEAT BELT NEVER LOCKED UP AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED.

I RENTED A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT FROM ONE OF THE RENTAL CAR COMPANIES ON FEB 17 2015 AND USED IT FOR ABOUT FIVE DAYS BEFORE THE FOLLOWING INCIDENT HAPPENED. ON FEB 22 , I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON I-5 GOING SOUTH. I MADE AN EXIT AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS ON THE FREEWAY TO REFUEL WHICH I DID. IT WAS BRIGHT SUNNY DAY THE TIME WAS AROUND NOON. I MOVED AWAY FROM THE GAS PUMP AND WANTED TO PARK IT BEHIND THE GAS STATION. I FOUND A SPACE BETWEEN TWO CARS AND AS I WAS SLOWLY MOVING TOWARDS THE PARKING SPACE THE CAR ACCELERATED AT AN INCREDIBLE SPEED, BROKE INTO A FENCE OF A PRIVATE RESIDENCE, THEN HIT A PLAY HOUSE (FOR CHILDREN) AND LANDED IN THE SWIMMING POOL. BECAUSE OF MY IGNORANCE ABOUT SUCH INCIDENCES WHEREBY CARS SELF-ACCELERATE, I THOUGHT I MIGHT HAVE ACCIDENTALLY STEPPED ON THE GAS AND WHEN THE POLICE ARRIVED AT THE SCENE AND ASKED ME WHAT HAPPENED, I SAID, "MAY BE I STEPPED ON THE GAS". UPON DISCUSSING THIS MATTER WITH FRIENDS AND CHECKING ON THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED THAT CARS ACCELERATED ON THEIR OWN FROM TIME TO TIME. I HAVE NO DOUBT IN MY MIND NOW THAT THE JEEP PATRIOT JUST DID THAT. I HAVE OVER 40 YEARS OF DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND I DON'T REMEMBER A SINGLE INSTANCE WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL WHILE TRYING TO BRING A CAR TO A STOP. THE RENTAL CAR COMPANY SAID THAT THEY HAD THE CAR INSPECTED AND SENT ME A LETTER THEY RECEIVED FROM THE MANUFACTURER STATING THEY DID NOT FIND ANY MALFUNCTION PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS IMMERSED IN THE POOL ABOUT HALF WAY AND I AM NOT EVEN SURE HOW THE INSPECTION CAN YIELD A RELIABLE RESULT FOR A CAR PULLED OUT OF A SWIMMING POOL. *TR
