TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE INTREPID. WHILE EXITING FROM THE FREEWAY AT 30 MPH THE ENGINE LOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME, NOT SURE OF CURRENT OR FAILURE MILEAGE, OR INCIDENT DATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN LOOKED AT BY A DEALER, AND THE VEHICLE HAD NO PRIOR REPAIRS DONE BESIDES OIL CHANGES.
I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT TRAVELING 30 MILES PER HOUR IN MY 2001 DODGE INTREPID ES. MY RIGHT FONT TIRE SOMEHOW SNAPPED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT COURSE AND DID NOT HIT ANY DEBRIS OR POTHOLES WHILE ON THE ROAD. I HAD NO CONTROL OF ANY STEERING WHILE IT HAPPENED AND CRASHED INTO AND ONCOMING CAR AT 30MPH AS I SAID I HAD MY SEATBELT ON AND HIT THE RIGHT FRONT SIDE OF THE OPPOSING VEHICLE. THE RESULT WAS A 4 INCH GASH IN MY FOREHEAD FROM THE B BAR OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE SEATBELT DIDN'T PROPERLY RESTRAIN ME EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ADJUSTED TO PROPER SHOULDER HEIGHT AND PULLED TIGHT AROUND MY WAIST. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE CAR AT ALL. AS A RESULT I SUFFERED INJURIES RESULTING IN THE PAYMENT OF $2900 TO MY LOCAL HOSPITAL AND AMBULANCE BUSINESS. THE VEHICLE HAD PASSED AN INSPECTION JUST A COUPLE MONTHS EARLIER HAD A TUNEUP AND INSPECTION FOR WORN JBALL JOINTS FITTINGS WIRES HOSES AND WIRES AND BOLTS WHICH COST A LARGE SUM OF MONEY. A FEW MINOR PARTS WERE REPLACED AND THE CAR WAS DEEMED TO BE IN SAFE WORKING ORDER. *TR
I WAS IN A CAR COLLISION ON APRIL 20TH 2006 IN LAKE ZURICH IL. APPROXIMATE SPEED 48 TO 50 MILES PER HR. I REAR ENDED A TRUCK & THE AIR BAGS DID NOT OPEN. NEITHER THE DRIVERS' AIRBAG OR THE PASSENGERS' AIR BAGS OPENED. LUCKILY I WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. I DID SUFFER NECK PAIN & HIP PAIN FROM THE WHIP-LASH. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT. THE 2001 DODGE INTREPID WITH 54,274 VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. I HAVE A PICTURE. *JB
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND IT JUMPED OUT OF GEAR AND HIT A TREE. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK THE CONSUMERS 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS HAND GRABBED THE SHIFTING LEVER WHILE BEING MOVED FROM THE FRONT SEAT TO THE CHILD SEAT IN THE BACK. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD. THE KEYS WERE STILL IN THE CONSUMERS HAND. THE CONSUMER WAS THROWN TO THE GROUND. * TC
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I IMPACTED ANOTHER VEHICLE (T-BONE) AND I WAS THE HEAD ON COLLISION. MY AIRBAG ON MY DODGE INTREPID 2001 DID NOT DEPLOY THE CRASH WAS HEAD ON AT 50 MPH. *LA
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH. UPON IMPACT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SPINAL INJURIES. *AK
I WAS A VICTIM OF AN ACCIDENT, ANOTHER VEHICLE HAD STRUCK ME IN THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE. UPON INPACT THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT THAT I WAS SITTING IN HAD TOTALLY COLAPSED BACKWARD. INJURIES WHERE SUSTAINED TO NECK AND BACK WHICH WAS CONFIRMED BY MEDICAL EXPERTISE. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE INJURIES WHERE FROM THE SEAT BREAKING, GIVING NO SUPPORT THUS ALLOWING MY BODY TO JOLT BACKWARD AND BOUNCE AROUND.THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFTEY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE LIVES ARE LOST. *AK
THE BRAKE PEDAL BROKE AND FELL ONTO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. *JB WHILE EXITING PARKING LOT, VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 60 MPH HITTING AN OBJECT. DEALERSHIP REPURCHASED VEHICLE. *TT
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION, AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, THE CONSUMER WAS INJURED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 55MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CLIPPED THE INTREPID, CAUSING THE INTREPID TO LOSE CONTROL AND HIT TWO DIFFERENT WALLS. UPON IMPACT WITH BOTH WALLS, NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. DRIVER SUSTAINED SOME INJURIES. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. *TT
MY NAME IS [XXX]. NOVEMBER 2005 I HAVE BOUGHT DODGE INTREPID 2.7 L SEDAN 2001 - TO HELP MY WIFE MOVING SAFELY. I HAVE SPENT ALL MY SAVINGS FOR IT. AT THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY 2006 I HAD PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE .ENGINE WAS BLOWN UP (MECHANIC TOLD ME ENGINE IS COMPLETELY BROKEN AND IS NO POSSIBILITIES TO REPAIR IT.) I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED AND I DINT KNOW WHAT I HAD TO DO. I DECIDED TO BUY NEW ENGINE TO SWITCH .I HAVE PAID FOR IT $4000.00 FROM MY CREDIT CARD BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY CHOICE.) AFTER 1,5 MONTH MARCH 8, 2006 THIS CAR CAUGHT FIRE FROM ELECTRIC ENGINE INSIDE THE PASSENGER DOOR. MY WIFE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL TO MAKE CHECK UP IN THIS TIME AND WHEN SHE RETURNED AND OPENED THE DOOR THE FLAME WAS BLOWN OUTSIDE AND ONE DOOR WAS COMPLETELY BURNED. THERE WAS POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEY MADE RAPPORT OF THIS ACCIDENT. NOW THIS CAR IS NOT FOR ANY USE BECAUSE ALL INSIDE IS COMPLETELY COVERED BY DUST AND SMOKE FIRE AND SLUDGE AND IS VERY TOXIC AND SMELLS REALLY BAD. INSURANCE REFUSED ME TO COVER THIS CAR FAILURE (I HAD ONLY BASIC PLAN) I HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR 4 YEARS OLD AND I BELIEVED IN DAIMLER CHRYSLER QUALITY NOW I SEE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS CAR BECAUSE I MADE INVESTIGATION ON INTERNET AND I FOUND COUPLE HUNDREDS FAILURES OF THIS CAR MOST OF THEN ARE THE SAME AS MINE. I HAVE NO MONEY TO BUY ANOTHER CAR AND STILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR ENGINE WHICH I SWITCHED. I DON'T HAVE MONEY FOR REGULAR LAYER THAT'S WHY I DECIDED TO ASK YOU FOR ASSISTANCE AND HELP BECAUSE I AM COMPLETELY HELPLESS I HAVE SPEND $6500.00 FOR THE CAR AND NEXT $4000.00 AND USED IT ONLY BY 2 MONTHS I THINK IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS KIND OF CARS. MY CAR INITIALLY STARTED OVERHEATED GOT THAT FIXED WHICH WAS THE WATER PUMP THEN THE ENGINE BLOWN AND I KEPT REGULAR MAINTANANCE ON THIS VEHICLE GOT THE HEAD GASKET FIXED THEN 3 DAYS LATER THE BOTTOM BLEW AND THE TIMING CHAIN TENSOR. *TR

FAILURE OF FRONT AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WHEN VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IMPACTED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS MOVING AT 30 MPH EST. *8JB
MY CAR WAS PARKED AND THE IGNITION WAS OFF. I STARTED THE CAR, PLACED IT IN GEAR AND IT "BOLTED" FORWARD AT A HIGH SPEED. I WAS PARKED FACING A GUARD RAIL IN A SHOPPING CENTER AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AND SMASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN, THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP FOR EXTENSIVE REPAIRS. I DON'T HAVE THE REPAIR ESTIMATE AS OF THIS DATE. CAR IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. *NM
CAN PULL GEAR SHIFT OUT OF PLACE WITHOUT IT BEING STARTED OR KEYS IN THE IGNITION. GRANDSON PULLED GEAR SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE AND IT ROLLED DOWN A HILL AND HIT A TREE WITH HIM IN IT. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT YET. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE CAME OFF THE RIM IN ONE PIECE. THE TIRE WAS PROPERLY INFLATED. THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. SAW A VERY BIG DENT IN THE BEAD ON THE INSIDE. HE ROTATED TIRES EVERY 3,000 MILES, AND REGULARLY SERVICED TIRES. THE TIRES HAD A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY AND THE TIRE ONLY HAD 20,000 MILES ON IT. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRES WAS TOYO. CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY VIBRATION BEFORE THE TIRE CAME OFF. THE WHEEL JUST STARTED TO WIGGLE A LITTLE BIT AND THEN THE CAR HIT THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS TO COME ON IN THE CAR BEFORE THIS HAPPENED.*AK
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE OFF, THE CONSUMER ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE SHIFT LEVER WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TP ROLL BACKWARDS INTO THE CONSUMER GARAGE, THE CONSUMER IS CONCERNED ABOUT HOW VEHICLE CAN COME OUT OF GEAR WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL DOESN'T HAVE TO HAVE THAT SAFETY LOCK FOR SHIFTING.
