2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO UNREPAIRED RECALLS WHICH RESULTED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE DIPS IN THE ROAD, THE HIGH SPEED, THE LOADING/UNLOADING AND OF THE SUSPENSION CONTRIBUTED TO THE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *JS
I CRASHED HEADING DOWN A HILL .I CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE AFTER MY CAR SUDDENLY REVVED UP,GAINED SPEED AS I HEADED TOWARDS A TELEPHONE POLE ,WITH LOSS OF POWER STEERING ,BRAKES BECAUSE MY CAR QUIT AFTER GAINING SPEED DUE TO THE RPMS AMPING UP ON THEIR OWN AND GOING DOWN A HILL. WHEN I HIT THE POLE,THE TELEPHONE LINES SNAPPED AND I WAS TRAPPED IN THE CAR BECAUSE THEY LANDED ON MY DRIVER WINDOW AND WERE SHOOTING OUT SPARKS AS IF THEY WERE ROMAN CANDLES AND A FIRE STARTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR IN SOME PINE STRAW. WHEN THE FIREMEN WAS ABLE TO GET ME OUT OF THE CAR HE CAME TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND BY THEN I HAD TAKEN MY SEAT BELT OFF AND THE FIREMAN ADVISED ME TO GET OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE IF I WAS ABLE AND I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS SCARED TO LET OFF THE BRAKE BECAUSE I THOUGHT FOR SOME REASON BEING OUT OF MY HEAD THAT THE CAR WAS GOING TO ROLL IF I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND HE TOOK HIS HAND AND SLAMMED THE CAR UP IN TO PARK BECAUSE I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE I HAD NOT PUT IT IN PARK. HE SAID YOU CAN LET YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE BECAUSE IT WILL NOT ROLL AND I SAID I'M TOO SCARED .I ASKED..CAN I PUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AND HE SAID YES AND WHEN I DID IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. THEN I CONTINUED TO COME OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE AND HOP TO THE SIDEWALK WITH MY FEET TOGETHER JUST IN CASE ANYTHING WAS HOT AND TO KEEP FROM GETTING ELECTROCUTIED JUST IN CASE SOMETHING WAS STILL HOT AROUND US. WHEN I WAS STRUCK BY THE AIRBAG THE AND THE SEAT BELT DID ITS JOB I SUPPOSE BUT FOR SOME REASON MY NECK WAS YANKED SO HARD THAT IT HURTS SO BADD EVERYDAY WHEN I DIDN'T GO TO THE HOSPITAL.I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY RECALLS WHEN I PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP ON JAN 18 2020. THE DAY BEFORE I CRASHED WE WERE TRAVELING UPHILL &I HAD A FRIEND WITH ME THAT HELPED GRAB THE WHEEL UNTIL IT STOPPED AFTER IT REVVED UP & QUIT.I ATTEMPTED TO CRANK IT 3XS WITH SUCCESS. I WAS STUNNED AS TO WHY IT DID IT .
A piece broke off and had fallen off of transmission when stopped at a redlight when put in gear car didn't want to move had to manually shift to get off the road and towed it home. The piece that broke fell into pan when changing transmission fluid. Believe it's off flywheel possibly forward band.
ON 1/2/2021 I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I HAD A FRONT END CRASH AT 60 MPH AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED CAUSING INJURY TO MYSELF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND LOCKED UP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE KNEES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE NECK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE BUMPER WAS REPAIRED AND REPAINTED. THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A DEER AND SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A NECK INJURY. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE STALLING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,233.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 3 TIMES. GM IS AWARE AND HAS IGNORED MY REQUESTS FOR TWO YEARS. A FEW MONTHS AGO, GM ATTORNEY TOLD ME TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A GM DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND THE RECALL REPAIRS WOULD BE DONE AT NO COST TO ME. I MADE HIM AWARE THAT MY VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN SITTING AT A GM DEALERSHIP FOR MONTHS WAITING FOR THE REPAIR AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO REPAIR IT AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE RECALL, I HAD NUMEROUS STEERING ISSUES AND HAD TAKEN IT TO GM DEALERSHIPS JUST TO HAVE THEM RETURN IT WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, I WAS IN A BAD CRASH AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, RESULTING IN ME GOING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD.
MY VEHICLE'S IGNITION SWITCH SHUT OFF, WHICH CAUSED ME TO LOSE STEERING. WHEN I CRASHED, THE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. I WAS DRIVING IN A LARGE PARKING LOT AND WENT OVER A SPEED BUMP. I WAS KNOCKED OUT BUT THE POLICE REPORT INDICATED THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF BRAKING OR STEERING. I TOOK MY IMPALA TO THE GM DEALERSHIP OVER 12 TIMES.
VEHICLE SHUTOFF AND I LOST STEERING AND BRAKING CAUSING VEHICLE TO CRASH AND AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.

ON 2-2-2015 VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A TWO VEHICLE, PERSONAL INJURY AUTO ACCIDENT. DAMAGE WAS INCURRED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT 1/4 (FENDER) PANELS, ENGINE COMPARTMENT, INTERIOR DASHBOARD AND STEERING WHEEL AREA ALONG WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR OF THE AFOREMENTIONED VEHICLE AND RESPECTIVE VIN. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DELOYED AND THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH DRIVER SIDE, PASSENGER SIDE, FRONT SIDE IMPACT AND HEAD/CURTAIN AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE HAS SUBSEQUNETLY BEEN TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND AWAITS DISPOSITION AT THEIR SALVAGE IMPOUND FACILITY. A "HOLD" HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE DISPOSTION OF THE VEHICLE BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY PENDING AN INVESTIGATION BY GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION, CHEVROLET DIVISION PRODUCT SAFETY PERSONNEL. THE GM ASSIGNED INCIDENT # IS 805801 AND WAS ASSIGNED ON APPROXIMATELY 02-19 OR 02-20-2015. TO DATE, ASIDE FROM THE INTIAL NOTIFICTION BY GM OF RECEIPT OF THE INCIDENT/COMPLAINT, THE PERSON ASSIGNED TO THE INCIDENT HAS FAILED TO RETURN TELEPHONE INQUIRIES FOR GENERAL INFORTMATION, STATUS OF THE REVIEW AND /OR INVESTIGATION.
I WOKE UP IN THE HOSPITAL WITH A BRAIN INJURY, TONGUE NEARLY CUT IN HALF, THORATIC SPRAIN, NECK SPRAIN, ETC. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD, I WAS GOING AT LEAST 60-65 MPH WHEN I HAD MY FRONT END CRASH AND MY HEAD WENT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. I HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES ALREADY SUBMITTED TO CHEVY, SUCH AS THE STEERING ISSUES I HAD. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I LATER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WHEN I WAS TURNING MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF. *TR

I WAS INVOLVED IN A VIOLENT, JARRING COLLISION ON JUNE 26, 2014 WITH AN SUV IN LAS VEGAS, NV. I WAS REAR-ENDED BY A TOYOTA RAV 4. I SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT INJURIES, & MY CAR SUFFERED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE, WHICH RESULTED IN MY VEHICLE BEING DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE ENGINE AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF & THE VEHICLE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY BECAUSE THE IGNITION SWITCH MOVED OUT OF THE RUN POSITION, TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
