I LIVE IN HOWARD BEACH, NYC AND SAW AN ODD THING ON LINE INVOLVING A NYPD 106 WHICH IS OUR LOCAL PRECINCT THERE WHERE ONE OF THEIR CHEVROLET MODELS THERE HAD A LIKE MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION AND IT EXPLODED THERE. IT WAS SO CLOSE TO THAT THING IN 1996 WITH TWA FLIGHT 800 THERE REMEMBER THAT? BESIDES THAT, THEY HAD PHOTOS ON GOOGLE PHOTOS OF THE NYPD 106 CAR THERE ALL EXPLODED AND PARKED BY THE CURB WITH THE CAUSE A MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION LIKE REMEMBER TWA FLIGHT 800 IN 1996 THERE WITH THE PLANE THERE THE MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION MADE THE PLANE EXPLODE THERE. YES, I HOPE THIS DOES NOT CONTINUE. THERE IS A PHOTO OF IT ON GOOGLE PICTURES.
I was in a car accident and the airbags did not deploy

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT STOP, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND DROVE OFF. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES, INCLUDING LOWER BACK, CHEST AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOTALED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,423.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A DEER CROSSED THE ROAD. THE CONTACT HAD TO MAKE A SHARP LEFT TURN TO AVOID THE ANIMAL AND CRASHED INTO A HILL IN THE WOODS. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED QUICKLY. EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE I COULDN'T STOP IT. THE CAR SLAMMED INTO A STONE PILLAR.

THE CONTACT SUFFERED BACK, NECK, AND HEAD BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HAD FOUR BRUISED VERTEBRAE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND A CHIME SOUNDED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BURN FROM THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
AROUND 3 YEARS AGO. 3 PARTS THE LANE DEPARTURE MODULES CONTROL ARE THE BLIND SPOT SENSORS, REAR BACKUP SENSORS AND A FRONT CAMERA. MY LANE DEPARTURE MODULES GOT WET AND MESSED UP MY CAR WHERE THERE WERE MANY THINGS GOING WRONG. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR SAID THE AIR BAG WENT OFF, THEFT WAS DETECTED, BLOWER FAN & TEMP CONTROLS WHERE GOING ON AND OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. 2 YEARS AGO GM AGREED TO REPLACE THE MODULES. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PROGRAMMING OF THE MODULES. THEY FINALLY GOT THEM TO PROGRAM. THE DAY I PICKED UP MY CAR I NOTICED ISSUES WITH THE SENSOR SYSTEM. THEY SAID TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT AND THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. WITH THE BLIND SPOT SENSOR, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE GOES ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME, I HAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS SHOWING WHERE I AM DRIVING WITH NO VEHICLE NEXT TO ME AT ALL WITH THE LIGHT FOR THE SENSOR SHINING BRIGHT. THE REAR BACKUP SENSOR DOES NOT WARM ME, LAST WEEK I DID NOT SEE A GARBAGE CAN BEHIND ME BECAUSE IT WAS LOWER THAN MY TRUNK AND I HIT THE CAN AND BROKE MY TAIL LIGHT. THE FRONT SENSOR THAT TELLS ME I AM GOING TO FAST FOR THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME GOES ON RANDOMLY WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME IS MORE THAN 100 FEET OR NO CAR AT ALL. I HAVE TAKING MY CAR TO 3 DEALERSHIPS 4 TIMES. ALL THE DEANSHIP'S SAY THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T GET A CODE. THERE IS NO CODE FOR THIS, NOT TO MENTION WHEN MY LANE DEPARTURE MODULES FAILED THERE WAS NO CODE FOR IT, THEY JUST STOPPED WORKING. THEY SAY IT IS UNDIAGNOSEABLE. GM SAW THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS AND ARE NOW SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE CAR JUST THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS. HOW CAN THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WHEN YOU SEE IN THE VIDEOS THE LIGHT IS ON AND NO CAR IS NEXT TO ME? HOW DO I LET MY 15-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER DRIVE THIS CAR WITH A LIGHT ON WHEN NO ONE IS THERE? PLEASE HELP ME! THE SAFETY AND SECURITY SYSTEM IS NOT SAFE AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, GOING NO MORE THAN 25 MPH WITH MY TWO TWO YEAR OLDS IN THEIR CAR SEATS BEHIND ME. SUDDENLY AND SIMULTANEOUSLY, ALL FOUR OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED (FRONT AND BACK), KNOCKING MY GIRLS SEATS TOGETHER, THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR DROPPED DOWN AND STARTED GRINDING ON THE WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THANKFULLY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, AND WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE FRONT, THE CAR DOOR SHUT, AND FOR THE FIRST TIME, AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED ME OUT, MY KIDS INSIDE, WITH ITS OWN KEY AND MY PURSE AS WELL.
I WAS TRAVELING FORWARD GOING ABOUT 25 MPH ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WHEN SUDDENLY, AFTER GOING OVER A DIP, THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO DROP ON THE FRONT RIGHT HAND SIDE. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE SIDE AIRBAGS (BOTH FRONT AND BACK) DEPLOYED. I COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AWAY FROM THE ACCIDENT. WHEN I LOOKED AT MY FRONT TIRES THEY WERE NO LONGER TURNED THE SAME DIRECTION BUT THERE WAS NO NOTICEABLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, TIRES, OR RIMS AT ALL. THE ONLY SYMPTOM THAT COMES TO MIND BEFORE THIS INCIDENT HAPPENING WAS THE FRONT RIGHT LOW PRESSURE TIRE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON. I WOULD PUT AIR IN IT, AND FIGURED I MUST HAVE RAN OVER A NAIL AND HAD A SLOW LEAK. DUE TO HOW VIOLENT THE ACCIDENT FELT GOING ONLY 25 MPH, IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE TO OTHER PEOPLE. IF I'D BEEN GOING 50 MPH OR MORE IT WOULD HAVE MOST DEFINITELY ROLLED, DAMAGING THE VEHICLE TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO REALLY IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. I JUST HAD GOT MY NEW CAR THAT DAY. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AND I TRIED BREAKING ABD I COULD NOT STOP SO I HAD TO GO ON TO THE CURB WHICH I SIDED WITH A TREE TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR KIDS RIDINGH IN STREET. SO I KEPT DRIVING AFTER THAT AND IT IS STILL DOING SO I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING AGAIN WHICH IS MAKING REALLY UPSET BECAUSE I AM SCARED OF HURTING SOMEONE OR MYSELF AND KIDS WHEN IT DOES THAT. I AM SPENDING ALOT OF MONEY ON MY NEW CAR AND IM NOT HAPPY WITH IT. I CANT KEPT RUNNING INTO THINGS TO AVOID HITTING SOMEONE OR THING WHEN IT DOES NOT STOP. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500.
AT 55 MPH ON A SLIPPERY RIGHT HAND SIDE CURVE (SPEED LIMIT IS 65 MPH) VEHICLE UNDER-STEERED AND LOST TRACTION COMPLETELY, WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAKES, IT STARTED TO SLOW DOWN AND SKIDDED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE CURVE (TO THE LEFT). I TRIED TO GET IT BACK TO THE DRIVING LANE, IT STARTED TO SKID LATERALLY TO THE RIGHT AND SLOWED DOWN UNTIL IT HIT A REFLECTOR POST ON THE EDGE OF THE RIGHT LANE AND STOPPED. VEHICLE INFORMATION ON THE DASH BOARD READ "ICE DETECTED...". ALTHOUGH THE DAMAGE ON THE RIGHT DOOR WAS A VERY MINOR DENT, THE CAR DEPLOYED ALL 4 HEAD CURTAIN AIRBAGS AND 2 RIGHT SIDE AIRBAGS, ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND FRONT SEAT-BELTS WERE STUCK. FEW MINUTES LATER, THE ENGINE RAN NORMALLY WITH THE "ICE DETECTED .." MESSAGE STILL ON. IT SEEMS THAT THE AIRBAGS SENSORS WERE ACTIVATED FOR NO REQUIRED REASON FOR A MINOR DENT ON THE DOOR. ALSO, THE STABILITY AND THE FAULTY BRAKING SYSTEM MIGHT BE OF A GREAT SAFETY ISSUE ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
