FATALITY AS A RESULT OF IGNITION SWITCH BEING TURNED WITHOUT A KEY AND WITHOUT THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED.*MR WHEN THE COMPLAINANTS THREE YEAR OLD GRANDSON TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION ONE NOTCH FORWARD THIS ALLOWED THE GEAR LEVER TO BE SHIFTED OUT OF PARK AND INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PRESSED. AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN A DRIVEWAY. IT UNCLEAR IF THE CHILD FELL OR JUMP OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS IT BECAME TO ROLL BUT EITHER WAY HE WAS STRUCK BY THE OPEN DOOR AS THE VEHICLE ROLLED. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE THEN ROLLED OVER THE CHILD WHICH RESULTED IN FATAL INJURIES TO HIS HEAD. *NM
MY 3 YEAR OLD NEPHEW WAS ABLE TO GET INTO HIS PARENTS 1996 CHEVY TAHOE AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE KEY TO THE FIRST CLICK (BEFORE THE CLICK TO TURN ON THE RADIO AND POWER WINDOWS, ETC.). THEN WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BRAKE, THE TODDLER WAS ABLE TO PULL THE SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO MOVE. THE TODDLER EITHER WAS THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE OR WAS SCARED AND JUMPED AND WAS RUN OVER BY THE VEHICLE AND KILLED. ALL MODELS AND MAKES OF VEHICLES CAN DO THIS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HONDA, TOYOTA AND 2001 OR NEWER DODGE VEHICLES. *JB
A LEAK IN THE VACCUUM BOOSTER CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL WHICH RESULTED IN A COLLISION.

ACCIDENT RON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THERE WAS A SUDDEN STOP IN TRAFFIC. WE WERE A LEAST AT AN EIGHT SECOND FOLLOWING DISTANCE. WHEN WE TRY TO STOP THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE LOCKED UP. OUR TRUCK SLAMMED INTO A FULL SIZED TRUCK WHICH THEN IN TURN CRASHED INTO A MINIVAN. DAMAGES TOTALED OVER $15,000 THIS IS THE SECOND MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE.

CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 45-50MPH & HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE ON DRIVER'S SIDE. AIRBAG ON THE DRIVR'S SIDE DIDN'T GO OFF. CONSUMER HAD CRACKED RIBS & BRUISES. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED. DEALER WILL BE CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH IT FELT LIKE VEHICLE HAD A FLAT TIRE. THEN, IT LOST CONTROL, ROLLED OVER THREE TIMES.VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK
WHEN TRAVELING ABOUT 30 MPH VEHICLE HIT A TREE HEAD-ON, AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED. A GM REP INFORMED OWNER THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE WORKING PROPERLY, AND SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED. *AK.ET.
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISIO., UOPN IMPACT, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY RESULTING IN M INOR INJURIES. DEALER AND MANUFACTUER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
MY SON WAS DRIVING THE TAHOE ABOUT 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY. A PICKUP TRUNK PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HIM. THE TAHOE HIT THE PICKUP TRUNK SQUARELY IN THE SIDE. THE AIRBAGS IN THE TAHOE DID NOT DEPLOY. HOWEVER, THE AIRBAGS IN THE PICKUP TRUCK DID DEPLOY. CHEVY SAID THIS IS NORMAL AND REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE TAHOE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AS IT HIT THE PICKUP TRUCK SQUARELY IN THE SIDE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. WHY WOULD THE PICKUP TRUNK AIRBAGS DEPLO,Y AND NOT THE TAHOE? PARTICULARLY SINCE THE PICKUP WAS ONLY HIT ON THE SIDE AND HAD VERY LITTLE FORWARD MOTION. DAMAGE TO TAHOE WAS RATED AT FD-5 AND TO THE PICKUP AT LD-6 BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. BOTH VEHICLES WERE NOT DRIVEABLE AND HAD TO BE TOWED. MY SON WAS WEARING HIS SEATBELT AND ONLY SUFFERED FROM WHIPLASH. HOWEVER, ONCE THE VEHICLE IS REPAIRED, HOW CAN I EVER TRUST THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AGAIN IF IT IS EVER NEEDED. *AK
RECALL 96V05700, MANUFACTURER'S RECALL 96-C-26; VEHICLE WOULD NOT CRANK AFTER DEALER HAD JUST REPAIRED CAR. JUMP STARTED THE CAR, ENGINE STARTED RACING AS FAST AS IT COULD GO, SPARKS CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD, TAPPING ON THE GAS TO GET THE ENGINE TO STOP RACING, PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR KEPT GOING. SLAMMED INTO PARK, DRIVER WAS INJURED IN INCIDENT. OPENED THE HOOD AND WHITE SMOKE APPEARED. DEALER CONTACTED, AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO CALLS. STATED THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. *AK

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1996 CHEVROLET TAHOE EQUIP WITH DEXTEERO DHT2 TIRES, SIZED: P265/75R/16, DOT 01BTHBAC00420, AND LINE: NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER WALMART LOCATED AT 10404 6TH ST RANCH CUCAMONGA CA. NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE SAME FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100 FOR THE TIRE. *LN* *BF *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1996 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH AND PUSHING ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, BOTH VEHICLES CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
