TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE WARNING INDICATORS FOR THE AIR BAGS, SERVICE ENGINE, AND LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SHORTED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES BY THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, A DEER CROSSED THE VEHICLE'S PATH AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISING, BUT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION AND THE VEHICLE WAS TRADED IN FOR A 2013 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
WE WERE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MILES AND A TRAILER HIT US FROM BEHIND AND THE AIR SAFETY BAGS WERE NEVER ACTIVATED HAD AN IMPACT IN FROM AND BACK AND THE SEAT BELTS DIDN'T WORK EITHER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING AND STRUCK THE CONTACT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A LIGHT POLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT EYE AND SUFFERED NAUSEA AND DIZZINESS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.

THE CONTACT CRASHED THE VEHICLE INTO A MEDIAN AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SIDE OF HER BODY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE POLICE REPORTED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE FOR TREATMENT OF INJURIES TO THE BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

THE CONTACT SUFFERED A FRACTURED STERNUM BY HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK DURING THE CRASH. THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WILL PERFORM AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE SEAT BELT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
WE BOUGHT OUR 2009 TRAVERSE LTZ WITH TOWING PACKAGE BRAND NEW IN JULY 2009. FROM DAY ONE IT HAS ROLLED BACKWARDS WHEN IN DRIVE WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT, A STOP SIGN, OR PAUSING FOR TRAFFIC. ONCE, WE ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO THE CAR BEHIND US EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. WHEN I SPOKE TO SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP, HE SAID IT WAS FINE, THAT'S WHAT THEY DID. OBVIOUSLY IT WAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE WITHIN A FEW YEARS, CHEVY MADE A BIG DEAL ABOUT THE NEW SYSTEM THAT STOPPED TRUCKS FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS WHEN STOPPED ON A HILL.
CAR WAS PARKED ON A VERY MINOR GRADE, TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK, KEYS REMOVED AND THE CAR WAS LOCKED. THE CAR THEN BEGIN ROLLING BACKWARDS UNTIL IT WAS STOPPED BY ANOTHER CAR IN THE PARKING LOT. THIS OCCURRED IN A CHURCH PARKING LOT AND SEVERAL PEOPLE OBSERVED AFTERWARDS THAT THE CAR WAS INDEED LOCKED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK. NO ONE WAS IN EITHER VEHICLE. I DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS OR A POLICE REPORT, ONLY WITNESSES.
6/9/2015 MY CAR WAS SERVICED AT THE CHEVY DEALERS REPAIR SHOP TO PREPARE FOR A LONG DISTANCE TRIP. THEY REPORTED I NEEDED 4 NEW TIRES. I ONLY AGREED TO REPLACE 2 REAR TIRES. I RECEIVED MY CAR 6/10/2015. 6/15/2015 ONLY 4 DAYS LATER ONE OF THE NEW TIRES BLEW OUT INTO 3 PCS (JUST MISSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURY). ONCE AAA INSTALLED THE SPARE TIRE I CALLED THE MANAGER OF THE CHEVY REPAIR SHOP IN NJ TO REPORT THE BLOW OUT & TO REQUEST THEY PAY FOR PENDING REPAIRS. HE STATED HE DID NOT HAVE A WAY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. HE ADVISED ME TO PAY FOR THE TIRE REPAIRS A REIMBURSEMENT. 6/15/2015 I WAS ADVISED THAT THE TIRE SENSOR WAS DESTROYED IN THE BLOW OUT. I ONLY REPLACED THE TIRE TO GET HOME (FORCED TO PURCHASE A TIRE @ $193.77). WHEN MY CAR RETURNED HOME. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTOR (GM). A GM REP SAID THAT GM WOULD SPEAK TO THE CHEVY GARAGE ON MY BEHALF. GM CALLED AND REQUESTED I TAKE MY CAR TO A GOODYEAR REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION, POSS REPAIRS AND POSS REFUND. FURIOUS AT SHOP & GM FOR PLACED DEFECTIVE TIRES ON MY CAR AND FOR A LACKED OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND A LACK OF OVER SITE FOR SUCH A DANGEROUS ACT. ONLINE I DISCOVERED THAT THE TIRES PLACED ON MY CAR ON JUNE 10, 2015 WERE RECALLED BY GOODYEAR BETWEEN DECEMBER 2014 AND FEBRUARY 2015. MY TIRES:TYPE: GOODYEAR HL EDITION FORTEGRA; SIZE: MTS P255/65R18; DOT# 4BXM ARDR 4614 & DOT# 4BXM ARDR 0515. I FOUND AN ONLINE LETTER FROM GOODYEAR TO ALL DEALERS MANDATING THEM TO RETURN ALL RECALLS. I SHELLED OUT $777.31 TO HAVE MY CAR READY FOR TRAVEL. DURING THE BLOW OUT I PUT OUT $193.77 TO GET MY CAR SAFELY BACK HOME. I PAID OUT $1,051.21 TO REPLACE 4 NEW TIRES. I THEN HAD TO COUGH UP $380.60 TO GET BRAKES AND ROTORS WHICH STOPPED WHEEL VIBRATION. THE GRAND COST WAS MORE THAN $2,402.89 WHICH DDI NOT COVER TIRE REMOVAL AND DONUT INSTALLATION. STILL MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN TOTALLY REPAIRED OR INSPECTED FROM THE BLOW OUT.
AT LOW SPEED STEERING WHEEL IS VERY,VERY HARD TO TURN,,,,, *TR
DRIVING ON COUNTRY ROAD WHEN A DEER RAN ONTO THE ROAD, TRIED TO STEER AROUND IT AND WAS UNABLE TO STEER, THUS STRIKING DEER ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES IN PARKING LOTS BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER STEERING. HAVE CHECKED POWER STEERING FLUID LEVELS AND THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM AS IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL. *TR

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING AND RACK AND PINION MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED MOVING WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE FROM THE WHEELS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMPS ILLUMINATED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A SNOW BANK. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT DETACHED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,500. *TR
I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHEN I FINALLY GOT THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOOSEN AND MOVE BACK INTO PLACE I HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND. THEN MY CAR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DROPPED TO THE GROUND DUE TO THE FRONT TIRE AXLE BRAKING WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT THE BACK OF A PARK VEHICLE. THE BRAKE OF THE AXLE APPEARED TO CLEAN AS THOUGH THE AXLE WAS NEVER APART OF MY CAR. THE INCIDENT SCARED ME A LOT AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED ON 3 YEAR OLD CAR AND I DID NOT HAVE ANY REAL WARNING SIGNS PRIOR TO THIS. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AS I AM NOW WITHOUT MY CAR AND I HAVE TO FACE REPAIRING SOMEONE ELSE'S VEHICLE. *TR
1ST. MY WIFE WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND HAD TO STOP QUICKLY, THEN WHEN SHE PROCEEDED TO LEAVE AGAIN BY LETTING OFF THE BRAKE - THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND HIT THE CAR PARKED NEXT TO HER. WHEN SHE REMOVED HER FOOT TO THE GAS - NOTHING SHE COULD DO TO PREVENT THIS INCIDENT. 2ND. WHILE IN THE DRIVE POSITION ON A HILL AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC SIGNAL, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL BACK ALMOST HITTING THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. WE FURTHER TESTED THE VEHICLE ON VARIOUS HILLS/INCLINES BOTH IN DRIVE AND REVERSE AND IT CONTINUED TO ROLL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE ENGAGED GEAR. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE, THE SERVICE CONSULTANT AT COURTESY CHEVROLET OF ORLANDO, SAID THIS IS A FLAW IN THE POWER TRAIN AND THEIRS NO KNOWN FIX. HE ADVISED US NOT TO DRIVE IT TO THE MOUNTAINS IF IT WERE HIM. SINCE OUR SUV IS FOR MY VACATIONS AND PRIMARY USE, WE ARE VERY CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY. WE CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE SINCE WE HAD SAVED UP FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT FOR THIS CAR. I SAW THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINS OF THE SAME CASE, IT WAS MENTIONED UNTIL SOMEONE DIES AND/OR THE FAMILY FILES A LAWSUIT - NO RECALL OR ACTION WILL BE DONE TO FIX THIS! ON ABOUT 4 OCCASIONS IN THE 5 WEEKS I HAVE HAD MY CAR, THE GEARS HAVE BEEN APPEARING TO SKIP. I HAVE BEEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS AND WHEN I GO AGAIN AND PRESS THE GAS IT JUMPS A GEAR AND LUNGES THE CAR FORWARD. THIS WEEK IT HAPPENED FOR THE 4TH OR 5TH TIME AND THIS TIME I HIT SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY ENDED UP STOPPING IN FRONT OF ME BUT MY CAR LUNGED FORWARD LIKE IT WAS SKIPPING GEARS. IT HAS ALSO ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS DOWNGRADED QUICKLY LIKE IT WAS DROPPING TWO SHIFT SPEEDS AT ONCE. *TR
The car appeared to have lost power, not while entering the freeway. I pressed on the gas, but it made a loud sound and barely moved. I then saw smoke, pulled over and the car cut off. The car continued to smoke. I opened the hood, and it was a fire under it. Prior to driving, the check engine light was on.
THE REAR HATCH WOULD OPEN AND SHUT ON YOU. I OPENED IT AND HAD IT COME DOWN ON ME AND IT CLOSED ON MY LEGS. THE RECALL # 257343 WAS DONE FOR THIS BUT WAS DOING IT AGAIN. I WOULD THINK SINCE IT'S DOING THE SAME THING IT WOULD BE COVERED AGAIN....IT WASN'T. I PAID TO HAVE FIXED.
THE TRUNK DOOR CLOSED DOWN ON ME AND THE SENSOR DID NOT SEND A SIGNAL TO MAKE THE DOOR GO BACK UP. I WAS PINNED DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR AND HAD TO PULL MYSELF OUT VERY QUICKLY, BUT NOT WITHOUT MINOR INJURY TO THE BACK OF MY LEFT ARM. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON AND IN PARK, IN A PARKING LOT. I WAS UNABLE TO POP THE TRUNK, WHEN MY HUSBAND PRESSED THE BUTTON TO MAKE IT AUTOMATICALLY GO UP. THAT'S WHEN, AFTER LEANING INSIDE THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED TO GO BACK DOWN AND DID NOT STOP WHEN THE DOOR TOUCHED ME.
