THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND FAILED TO RECOGNIZE A PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT SEAT DURING A CRASH. AS A RESULT, THE PASSENGER'S AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A SEVERE FRONTAL IMPACT COLLISION. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE, DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE, DEFORMED FRAME RAILS AND WAS DIRECTLY FRONTAL. THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER, AN ADULT FEMALE, WAS BELTED BUT HER HEAD HIT THE DASH IN THE AREA OF THE AIRBAG FLAP AND SHE SUFFERED FATAL HEAD INJURIES. THE ECM WAS DOWNLOADED AND REVEALED THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM HAD FAILED TO RECOGNIZE A PASSENGER WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THE EPROM DATA READ "FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASS: UNDETERMINED" EVEN THOUGH AN ADULT FEMALE WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT TRW AUTOMOTIVE U.S. LLC AND KELSEY-HAYES COMPANY ARE THE SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM AND RELATED PARTS THAT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE, DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT WHILE TRAVELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DUE TO A DRUNK DRIVER COMING THE WRONG WAY ON A FREEWAY. THE IMPACT WAS SEVERE, DEFORMED FRAME RAILS AND WAS DIRECTLY FRONTAL. THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. I swerved to avoid animal in the roadway. Over corrected my skid and went into the ditch at highway speed. The airbag never deployed and I had a fracture to my lumbar 1. Insurance denied my claim and have the vehicle listed as a 2007 charger. They should have at least covered part of this incident as there was full coverage through progressive insurance at the time.
WHILE TRAVELING ON US 33 WEST BOUND IN MARYSVILLE OHIO, JUST IN FRONT OF EXIT HONDA PARKWAY AROUND 6 AM, TRAFFIC CAME TO A STOP, AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN, ESTIMATING AROUND 50 MPH (70 SPEED LIMIT), THE CAR BEHIND ME CRASHED INTO THE THE REAR OF MY CAR, AFTER COLLISION I RESPONDED BY TRYING TO STEER MY CAR TO LEFT, BUT HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. ALL THREE CARS INVOLVED IN THE CRASH WERE TOTALED. THE REAR IMPACT SHATTERED THE REAR WINDOW AND SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE REAR OF MY CAR AND ALSO THE FRONT FROM THE FORWARD COLLISION. THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, I HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL, AND SUFFERED FROM A DIAGNOSED CONCUSSION AS WELL AS A SEVERE STRAIN TO MY NECK. ONE YEAR AGO, I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO A DODGE DEALER TO GET THE AIRBAG REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL. CONSIDERING THIS, I REACHED OUT TO DODGE AND THEY ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER TO THE INCIDENT. IT HAS NOW BEEN FOUR WEEKS, SINCE I HAVE CONTRACTED THEM, AND DODGE IS YET TO RESPOND TO MY ISSUE. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES EACH WEEK, FOLLOWING UP ON THE CASE BUT HAS NOT CONTACTED ME OUR PROVIDED ME WITH ANY INFORMATION. DODGE HAS CLAIMED TO HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REACH OUT TO ME, BUT CITED AN ISSUE WITH HAVING WRONG NUMBER, EVEN AS I HAVE CONFIRMED / VERIFIED MY CONTACT INFORMATION EVERY TIME I HAVE CONTACTED THEM.

IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG STRUCK THE CONTACT IN THE FACE, WHICH RENDERED THE CONTACT UNCONSCIOUS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES AND BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. "TAKATA RECALL" I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MUTABLE CARS. I STRUCK AN SUV IN THE REAR TAILGATE. I HAD THE RECALL AIRBAG REPLACED ON APRIL 25TH 2016 AT CENTRAL AVENUE DODGE CHRYSLER . THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY!!!!! THANK GOD I'M AM NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED. THE CAR IS NOW BACK AT MY HOUSE FOR YOUR INSPECTION. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL BOX OVERHEATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V313000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. I WAS IN ROUTE HOME AND STOPPED TO GET FUEL AND PROCEEDED ON MY ROUTE WHEN MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY STALLED WITH NO USE OF BREAKS OR STEERING AVAILABLE. IN ATTEMPT TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE I CRASHED INTO A DITCH. END RESULTED IN ME WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALING OUT MY VEHICLE. I HAD NO MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND AT COMPLETE LOSS OF A VEHICLE THAT I FINALLY WAS THRU PAYING FOR!! I WISH SOMEONE WILL HELP ME AND MY FAMILY THE LOSS OF THIS VEHICLE TOOK A GREAT TOLL ON MY FAMILY! I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIPS AND EVEN LAWYERS!
I HIT A DEER AT 75 MPH. THIS CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND ENGINE. THERE WAS NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I ENDED UP WITH NECK/BACK INJURIES AND BRUISING WHERE I STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR

THE WHOLE DASH - STEREO AND ETC CAME APART BUT NEITHER THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED?? I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP IN SEPTEMBER 2013 SO EVERYTHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN WORKING ORDER. *TR

THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DOING 65 MPH, AND WAS REAR ENDED BY A DRUNK DRIVER IN AN SUV DOING APPROXIMATELY 120 MPH. AT THE TIME OF IMPACT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY VEHICLE DID NOT SPIN OUT OF CONTROL OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, BUT HAD I NOT HAD CONTROL OF MY CAR, WHO KNOWS IF THE AIRBAG WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE IN A LEFT HAND CURVE AT 23 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE SEPARATED FROM THE WHEEL. THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE TO WARN THE CONTACT OF LOW TIRE PRESSURE. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO OFF OF THE ROAD INTO A TRENCH, BOUNCING BETWEEN EITHER SIDES OF THE TRENCH. THE VEHICLE HIT SIX TREES AND ENDED UP PINNED AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MOST OF THE DAMAGE OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS WERE WORN. THE INDICATOR LIGHT THAT STATES THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WAS DEACTIVATED WAS ILLUMINATED. THE OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED INJURIES. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP, WHERE REPAIRS WERE STARTED. THAT DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM ALL NECESSARY REPAIRS; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED TO THE CONTACT.
DT: THE CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH THE ABS FAILED TO ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE SKIDDED OFF THE ROAD AND INTO SEVERAL TREES. UPON IMPACT, THE FRONTAL AND SIDE/CURTAIN AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT FELT IT WAS A TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM. THE ABS FAILED ONCE BEFORE. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS NEVER TOLD I HAD TO REPLACE MY BATTERY. 10 20, 2009 I WAS AT CVS STORE I GOT IN MY CAR STARTED IT THEN THE BATTERY BLEW COMPLETELY UP. IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOOM. THE STORE CLERK RAN OUT AND ON LOOKERS TOLD ME THE CAR WAS SMOKING FROM THE TRUNK. IN DISBELIEF I RAN BACK TO THE STORE TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ASAP. WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OPENED THE TRUNK SPARKS FROM THE BATTERY WAS BEGINNING TO START A FIRE. ONE GENTLEMAN FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO CUT THE BATTERY CABLE BECAUSE IT WAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE BATTERY OR ELSE THE CAR WOULD EXPLODE BECAUSE IT WAS TO CLOSE TO GAS PUMP. HE TOLD ME I WAS VERY LUCKY BECAUSE IF THE BLAST WAS ANY STRONGER IT COULD HAVE BLOWN UP THE CAR COMPLETELY IF THE FIRE SPARKS AND GAS COLLIDED. FROM THE BLAST MY NECK JERKED VERY HARD AND I AM EXPERIENCING DIZZY NESS FROM THE EXPLOSION AND BATTERY ACID FUMES AND MINOR BACK PAINS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MY LEGAL RIGHTS OR AND OPTION TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. AT THIS TIME MY CAR IS COMPLETELY DAMAGED I HAVE NO ELECTRICAL POWER AT THIS TIME AND MY FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. I HAVE A DODGE CHARGER RT 2006 HEMI. I WAS COMMING OFF THER HIGHWAY . AFTER TAKING THE EXIT RAMP I WAS HEADING TO A RED LIGHT MY BREAKS FAILED! I HAD NO BREAKS AT ALL SUDDENLY CAUSING MY CAR TO CRASH INTO THE CAR AT THE LIGHT. MY CAR THEN TRAVELED BACKWARDS WITHOUT BREAKS. THE POLICE DID ARRIVE ON SCENE. THE GUY IN OTHER CAR THOUGHT I FELL ASLEEP AS MY CAR DIDNT EVEN SKID. I HAD TO GO IN TH EAMBULANCE AND HOSPITAL SAID I HAD A CONCUSSION. I HAD INSURANCE SINCE BUYING THE DODGE SECOND HAND BUT, DUE TO WRONG INFO MY INCURANCE WAS CANCELLED. IN nh you dont have to have insurance but now im left with my car in need of serios repair!! im devastated. i had no issue to say i was at risk for break issues.

MY 2006 DODGE CHARGER WAS PURCHASED USED IN DEC 2013. SINCE THEN IT HAS OCCASIONALLY LOST POWER WHEN DRIVING.. BUT AFTER A FEW SECONDS RESTORED TO NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. MONDAY 3/10/14, WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH ON HIGHWAY 251 IN ROCKFORD IT BEGAN LOOSING POWER AND STALLED COMPLETELY.. I BARELY HAD TIME TO GET TO THE RIGHT HAND LANE CURB. IT WAS A BUSY TRAFFIC SITUATION, AND I HAD STALLED JUST BEFORE CONSTRUCTION ZONE WHERE TRAFFIC WAS MERGING TO ONE LANE. AS I SAT AGAINST THE CURB A CAR WAS FORCED OVER STRIKING MY MIRROR OFF MY CAR... IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. NOT AN EXAGGERATION, I FELT MY LIFE WAS GREATLY JEOPARDIZED. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND NEEDED TOWED AWAY. THE SITUATION WAS ONLY SAFE BY A POLICE CAR POLLING UP BEHIND ME UNTIL THE TOW TRUCK CAME. SO FAR THE CAR SERVICE HAS NOT FOUND A CAUSE.
