THE ENTIRE FRONT BRAKES {ROTORS, CALIPER, PADS} REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AT 33K MILES, IN ADDITION SEVERAL HARD BRAKE LINES WERE SEVERELY RUSTED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ON A TRUCK!

THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT ALL THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD CALL THE CONTACT. WHEN INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHT CAME ACROSS A COW IN THE ROAD . WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS TO LATE TO SLOW DOWN OR MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, WHEN APPROACHED AT 65 MPH. HIT THE COW, STRAIGHT ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRONT GRILL, WHEN CAME TO A STOP, THE HOOD WAS BUCKLED GRILL AND METAL GUARD ALONG WITH RADIATOR AND ALL OF THE FRONT BUCKLED IN ABOUT 1 AND A HALF FEET PUSHED IN, DURING IM PACT THE AIRBAGS FAILED . I HIT MY KNEE ON THE DASH HURT MY SHOULDER AND STERNUM. DOCTORS WERE AMAZED THAT MY INJURY WERE NOT MORE . I REALLY THINK THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED . I HAVE PHOTOS OF WHAT THE TRUCK LOOKS LIKE NOW .

I PURCHASED A 2005 DODGE DAKOTA AND 6 MONTHS AFTER MY PURCHASE THE VEHICLES IDLER WAS JUMPING FROM 1 TO 3 AND THEN VEHICLE DIES. IT CONTINUES TO THIS. I HAVE BRINGING MY TRUCK IN TO BE SERVICED SENSE 11-2005 AND 2 MONTHS AGO I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN BATTLING WITH CHRYSLER FOR THE LEMON LAW, AND THEY STATE MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED. TO THIS DATE NO REPAIR, VEHICLE DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION AND WAS RE-ENDED.
I BOUGHT A 2005 DODGE DAKOTA ON FEB OF 2005. FROM THE VERY START I HAD A BAD VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE UNDER HEAVY BRAKING. WE FIRST TOOK THE VEHICLE AFTER 2000 MILES TO HAVE IT LOOK AT. DODGE COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM SO I TOOK IT BACK ANOTHER 7 TIMES BEFORE I ASKED FOR REPLACEMENT UNDER THE OHIO LEMON LAWS. DODGE CONTACTED ME IN EARLY OCTOBER WANTING TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK AGAIN BUT BEFORE I COULD BRING IT BACK IN, I GOT IN A ACCIDENT THAT WAS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE NON WORKING BRAKES. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, WHICH PUT A WOMEN IN THE HOSPITAL, MY WIFE TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO GET FIXED AND THE DEALER THREW HER OUT. WE LATER LEARNED THAT DODGE, DURING SOME RECALL WORK, NOTIFIED IT'S DEALER NETWORK NOT TO DO ANY MORE WORK ON THIS VEHICLES BRAKES. THIS FORCED US TO GO HIRE A LAWYER TO SUE FOR COMPENSATION. ALL ALONG I WAS STILL DRIVING THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE. I GOT A CALL FROM THE LAWYERS ON MAY 30 TELLING ME THAT I SHOULD CONTACT THE DEALER AND SELL THE VEHICLE BACK. I DID JUST THAT, THE DEALER LIED TO ME, TOLD ME HE DID NOT HAVE THE PAPERWORK YET, WHICH HE DID, AND NOT TO CALL HIM. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN HE RECIEVED THE PAPERWORK. IN THE MEANTIME MY WIFE GOT IN A ACCIDENT JUNE 14, AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY BRAKES AND PUT ANOTHER PERSON IN THE HOSPITAL. NOW THE LAWYERS WANT ME TO FIX THE TRUCK AGAIN AND HURRY UP AND SELL IT BACK TO DODGE, SO THEY CAN GET THEIR MONEY. THEY SAID THAT I SHOULD NOT PURSUE ANYTHING ELSE. DODGE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TRAMPLE OVER ME LIKE THIS. THIS ISN'T RIGHT SOMEBODY SHOULD BE OUT THERE PROTECTING THE RIGHTS OF THE AVERAGE PERSON. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE? *JB
DT: THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING AT 45 MPH WHEN A DEER RAN OUT IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. HE PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND JUMPED. THE BRAKES LOCKED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO OVER A HILL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE VEHICLE NEEDED THE FRAME REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. I WAS INVOLVED IN A SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT WITH MY 2005 DODGE DAKOTA TRUCK. IN WHICH I HIT A POLE. I WAS DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT WHICH WAS 35 MPH. WHEN I HIT THE POLE MY AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID THAT THERE ARE SENSORS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUMPER. WHEN I TOOK PICTURES OF THE BUMPER THEY SHOW THAT I HIT IT WITHIN INCHES OF THE CENTER OF THE BUMPER. WHEN I TOOK THOSE PICTURES TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THAT THE SENSORS ARE ON THE SUPPORT BEAMS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THEY DIDN'T GO OFF AND IF THERE WAS OR IS ANY RECALLS ON THIS. *JB

I TURNED ON MY HEATED SEAT, AS I HAVE DONE SEVERAL TIMES THIS WINTER. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES, I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. I REACHED AROUND THE BACK OF ME AS I WAS DRIVING BECAUSE A SPOT ON MY BACK WAS VERY HEATED. I ACTUALLY STUCK MY FINGER THROUGH A HOLE IN THE SEAT THAT HAD BURNED THROUGH BOTH THE SEAT AND MY COAT. (ALSO MY FINGER, AT THIS POINT.) I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE HEAT OFF AND WENT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO CONTACT CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER CLAIMS RESOLUTION CENTER, WHO IN TURN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND MY COAT ON MARCH 3, 2014. THE NEXT CONTACT I HAD WAS A LETTER DATED MARCH 10 THAT STATED, "THE INSPECTOR FOUND NO INDICATION OF A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO THE INCIDENT..." I SUBSEQUENTLY CALLED THEIR GENERAL OFFICE COUNSEL AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT BE DOING ANYTHING FURTHER AND I SHOULD MAKE A CLAIM TO MY INSURANCE AGENT. THEY REFUSED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS REGARDING HOW MANY VEHICLES HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND THAT THERE WERE NO "HIGHER UPS" THAT I COULD CONTACT. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I'M NOT HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME AND WOULD WELCOME ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE FOR ME. THANK YOU. *TR

TURNED ON DRIVERS HEATED SEAT TO (LOW),IN JUST A FEW MINUTES I GOT A BURNING FEELING IN MY RIGHT BUTT CHEEK ,AT THE TOP OF MY RIGHT LEG. IT GOT SO HOT THAT I HAD TO TURN THE SEAT OFF RIGHT AWAY !!!!! I DROVE TO WORK AND BY THE TIME I GOT THERE I FORGOT ABOUT THE SEAT ,ALTHOUGH I STILL HAD A BURNING SENSATION IN MY BUTTOCKS. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2005 DODGE DAKOTA 4X4 4 DOOR MID SIZED PICK UP. IT HAS 89,000 MILES ON IT. I EXPERIENCED BRAKING PROBLEMS ON 9/10/16 AND BROUGHT IT TO THE SHOPS FOR COMPLETE BREAK INSPECTION WHERE REPAIRS WERE DONE. ON 1/25/17 I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALER FOR AN AIRBAG SENSOR RECALL WHERE THE TRUCK WAS LOOKED AT BY DODGE MECHANICS. ON 1/30/17 WHILE DRIVING, MY TRUCK LOST ALL BRAKING ABILITY. THE PEDAL WHEN TO THE FLOOR, DESPITE RAPIDLY PUMPING THE BREAKS, I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS HURT BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHE HAD IT HAPPENED IN ANOTHER LOCATION. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO MY LOCAL STATION WHERE AN INSPECTION REVEALED THE BREAK LINES HAD ROTTED OUT CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE. I AM NOT READING ON LINE THAT GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH NO RECALL OR RECOMMENDED SPECIAL MAINTENANCE TO BE PERFORMED FOR THESE VEHICLE OWNERS. I WAS JUST HEADING OVER A SERIES OF EXTENSIVE HILLS WHERE SUCH BRAKE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. I WAS GOING STRAIGHT ON A CITY STREET WELL UNDER 20 MPH.
