The vehicle suffered a direct rear impact from another vehicle traveling approximately 95 mph while this Ford Fiesta was traveling 60 mph forward. Both front seats were positioned upright with a properly seated driver and a passenger seated whilst turning his body behind the seat. The impact was severe enough to trigger the Ford Fiesta's SOS Post-Crash Alert System. As a result of the impact, both front seats of the vehicle broke free of their positions and reclined backwards. This action of the seats cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle as his hands were stripped from the wheel. The airbags did not deploy. The driver's head flew forward and slammed back hard into the headrest. The vehicle was inspected by a police officer at the scene who commented that the seats had failed. The vehicle was also inspected by an insurance inspector. The vehicle is currently in the possession of Progressive and may be available to inspect. The vehicle was in proper working order before the accident occured and provided no sign of issues with the seats.

I was involved in a double roll over crash and the airbags did not deploy.
This happened back in NOV. 2016. I seen the the recall from Ford on 2.9 million cars. Although my make and model is not specifically named in the recall, it is exactly what happened to me. I went to eat at a diner and pulled in to the parking space. I put the car in park, and took my foot off the brake. When I did so, my car jumped forward on to the sidewalk and crashed into the building. This caused both myself and my mother who was 82 at the time to be thrown forward toward the dash and front windshield. It was necessary to call the EMS, Fire, and Ambulance to inspect the structure and tend to me and my mom. There was not any lights or warning when this happened. It was my first time experiencing this from the car. We had the car taken to the Body shop to repair the damages, however there was never a mechanical checks done on the vehicle (we would not have suspected the need to do that).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH, THE SECOND VEHICLE IN FRONT SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES CAUSING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT TO ABRUPTLY STOP AS A RESULT THE CONTACT REAR END THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE BRAKE WAS STIFF AND WAS UNABLE TO BRAKE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS. THE HOOD, HEADLIGHT, RADIATOR, AND FRONT BUMPER WERE DESTROYED BUT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MUSCLE ACHES AND PAINS AND WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY CENTER. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS NO BROKEN BONES BUT SUFFERS FROM PANIC ATTACKS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY HELP. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT IN FEBRUARY OF 2020 A DEER JUMPED IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO HIT THE DEER. THE AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY ON THAT OCCASION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 175,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY MY CAR BEGAN SMOKING AND BEGAN TO OVERHEAT WHICH CAUSED A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD THAT SPRAYED OIL ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF MY HOOD SPARKING A SMALL FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THE COMPUTER BEGAN TO SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND DISPLAYED A WARNING MESSAGE THAT STATED SUDDEN LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE, PLEASE PREPARE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. JUST AS I READ THAT MESSAGE THE BRAKES STARTED TO LOCK AND THE STEERING BECAME HARDER TO TURN AS I TRIED TO GET OFF THE NEXT EXIT FROM THE EXPRESSWAY. I REINJURED MY BROKEN ANKLE IN TRYING TO KEEP STOP AND CONTROL THE CAR. ONCE PULLED OVER THE CAR CONTINUED TO SMOKE AND NO LONGER STARTED. I FILED A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE AND IT WAS DENIED AS THEY FOUND THE CAUSE WAS DUE TO RECALL MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL BREAKDOWN STILL UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND ON THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY MEDIACENTER WEBSITE THIS RECALL NOTICE DATE 3/29/17. MY VIN # WAS NOT ON THIS LIST BUT TO THE LETTER IS WHAT I EXPERIENCED: FORD ISSUES SAFETY RECALL FOR CERTAIN 2013-15 FORD ESCAPE, FORD FIESTA ST, FORD FUSION AND FORD TRANSIT CONNECT 1.6-LITER GTDI VEHICLES FOR UNDER-HOOD FIRE RISK FORD IS ISSUING A SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FOR APPROXIMATELY 230,000 2014 FORD ESCAPE, 2014-15 FORD FIESTA ST, 2013-14 FORD FUSION AND 2013-15 FORD TRANSIT CONNECT VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 1.6-LITER GTDI ENGINES. FORD'S INVESTIGATION OF THESE VEHICLES HAS IDENTIFIED A RISK OF UNDER-HOOD FIRES. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, A LACK OF COOLANT CIRCULATION COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE TO OVERHEAT, RESULTING IN A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER HEAD. A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD CAN RESULT IN A PRESSURIZED OIL LEAK. OIL THAT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH A HOT ENGINE SURFACE INCREASES THE RISK OF A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. FORD IS AWARE OF 29 REPORTS OF FIRE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ISSUE IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA. NO INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.
I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FIESTA I PURCHASED ON DECEMBER 23, 2015 AT THE LAUREL, MARYLAND CARMAX STORE. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH, I WENT TO JIM COLEMAN TOYOTA TO BUY A TOYOTA PRIUS. THEY EXAMINED MY FORD FOR ITS TRADE-IN VALUE. THE MANAGER, WHO WAS A FORMER CARMAX MANAGER, EXAMINED THE CAR AND INFORMED ME THAT MY FORD FIESTA HAS UNIBODY DAMAGE. THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AS BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS UNIBODY DAMAGE WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON DECEMBER 23, 2015. I PURCHASED THE CAR FOR $14,000, WHICH IS FAR ABOVE THE BLUE BOOK VALUE OF $9,419. IN MARCH 2016, I BOUGHT THE CAR TO CARMAX IN LAUREL FOR OVERHEATING. THE HEAT PUMP WAS REPLACED FOR $250. ADDITIONALLY, ON SEPTEMBER 15TH, I PAID FOR REPAIRS AT THE CARMAX GAITHERSBURG STORE. THE REPAIRS WERE FOR THE FOLLOWING: 1-FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH;2-TRUCK LATCH; AND 3-HORN I WAS CHARGED $250 TO REPAIR CRITICAL SAFETY FEATURES. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN GAITHERSBURG, THE BATTERY DRAINED. THE CAR DOOR COULD NOT CLOSE, SO THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON. I REPORTED THE DOOR LATCH PROBLEMS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 29TH. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. MY SISTER AND I WERE TRYING TO LEAVE FOR CHURCH AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 8TH IN GAITHERSBURG AND SEPTEMBER 13TH IN LAUREL. THAT WAS QUITE A LONG TIME TO WAIT FOR SUCH A CRITICAL ISSUE. I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED A CAR WITH UNIBODY DAMAGE HAD IT BEEN DISCLOSED. TO BE CHARGED FOR A RECALL ITEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED PRIOR TO PURCHASE, IS UNCONSCIONABLE. I AM TOTALLY OUTRAGED.
I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET IN MY FIESTA AND WAS AT A STOP. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS TO GO AGAIN THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD MORE QUICKER THEN USUAL AND BUMPED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND NO ONE IS FIXING IT. I WAS IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT RECENTLY WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS AND THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS TURNING IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED, MY CAR WAS HIT DUE TO ME NOT ACCELERATING. *TR

MY DAUGHTER TOOK HER CAR IN FOR REPAIR END OF JULY 2014, DUE TO VERY BAD SHUTTERING, SHAKING, ACCELERATION AND BRAKE ISSUE. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY RESET THE COMPUTER THAT SPEAKS TO THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD HER TAKE CAR BACK ABOUT 10 DAYS LATER DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. THEY CLAIM THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE THAT SHE NEEDS TO DRIVE AT LEAST ANOTHER 1000 MILES SO THAT COMPUTER CAN REGISTER HER DRIVING HABITS??? I DROVE HER TO WORK THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY AND AS I WAS LEAVING UPHILL PARKING STRUCTURE THE CAR FELT AS IT COMPLETELY STALLED OUT, I HAD THE PEDAL FLOORED AND NOTHING AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR JUMPED AND ACCELERATED FORWARD. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME I WOULD OF DEFINITELY HIT THEM. I DROVE VEHICLE STRAIGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND ASKED SALESMAN TO TAKE FOR A TEST DRIVE. HE STATED THAT THERE WAS CLEARLY A PROBLEM AND HE WOULD HAVE GSM CALL ME BY THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. TUESDAY COMES AND AS MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING TO WORK SHE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING SO SHE FLOORED IT AND UNFORTUNATE FOR HER HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER. I CALLED SALESMAN BACK AND HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK, 3 WEEKS LATER NO PHONE CALL FROM SALESMAN OR GSM. ACCIDENT OCCURED ON 8-19-14 THEN WE RECEIVED A LETTER POSTMARKED 8-26-14. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM CLAIMING THEY HAVE EXTENDED HER WARRANTY ON CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION INPUT SHAFT SALSAS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE CALIBRATION FOR A TOTAL OF 7 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. I PURCHASED MY 2013 FIESTA NEW OFF THE CAR LOT. IT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. IT HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP TWICE FOR CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT THE LAST TIME BECAUSE IT HESITATED AND THEN TOOK OFF AND RAN IN TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. FORD DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE ACCIDENT. I HAD TO ARGUE WITH THEM TO GET A CAR TO DRIVE WHILE THEY FIXED MY CAR YET AGAIN. IT HAS AGAIN STARTED HESITATING AND THEN EXCELLING QUICKLY AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. I BOUGHT A NEW CAR FOR RELIABILITY AND THIS IS FAR FROM RELIABLE. IT IS VERY VERY LOUD ALSO. *TR
LAST NIGHT I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY, THERE WAS TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND I TRIED TO BRAKE BUT THE BRAKES DIDN'T RESPOND EVEN WHEN I PUSHED THE BRAKE UNTIL THE END. FINALLY, MY CAR IMPACTED THE OTHER CAR. AFTER THAT, WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE SIDE, I ALMOST COLLIDE THE CAR AGAIN BECAUSE THIS TIME THE BRAKE WAS BLOCKED AND I HAD TO PUT THE PARKING POSITION QUICKLY. THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE BUT I WAS IN A PARKING LOT, THE SPEED WAS VERY LOW AND I COULD CONTROL THE SITUATION. I DIDN'T PAY TO MUCH ATTENTION IN THAT MOMENT WHEN BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL LAST NIGHT WHEN I HAD THE ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAVE BEEN FACING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING OF THE CAR. I TURNED ON THE CAR AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DIRECT, THE CAR WENT BACKWARD AND THE OPPOSITE, I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND THE CAR WENT FORWARD. IT HAPPENED LIKE THREE TIMES. DURING THIS YEAR. THIS IS A NEW CAR THAT I BOUGHT ON DECEMBER LAST YEAR, AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. *TR
IT STARTED SMOKING ALL OF A SUDDEN FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I THINK THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT REVEALING THE REAL PROBLEMS IN THE RECALL NOTICE

MY FORD FIESTA 2013 HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH SHUDDERING, LUNGING, JERKING, AND FAILING TO ENGAGE GEAR SHIFTS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL FORD DEALERS AND SERVICEMEN THAT I NEED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IF IT WERE A STICKSHIFT AND HESITATION BETWEEN GEAR SHIFTS IS NORMAL FOR THIS CAR. A FORD DEALER HOOKED UP A LAPTOP AND RESET THE VEHICLE TO TSB 13-4-5 "INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION CLUTCH SHUDDER DPS6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION". THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED, SO I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY; COMPLAINT #2989023. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO A DEALER AND THEY NEED PROOF THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE SERVICE PERSON SAID I NEED TO BE DRIVING THE CAR WHILE FAULTS ARE DOCUMENTED BECAUSE THE CAR HAS AN ADAPTIVE LEARNING PROGRAM THAT RESPONDS TO THE DRIVER'S ACTIONS. I BROUGH THE CAR TO SCHAUMBURGH FORD IN ILLINOIS. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TEST DROVE THE CAR WHILE I WAS IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. HE SAID HE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY FAULTS WITH THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE INSTANCE AS WE WERE RETURNING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THAT THE CAR SHUDDERED. THE DEALER TOOK THE CAR FOR THE AFTERNOON 8/29/2013 AND SAID HE RESET THE CAR AGAIN FOR TSB 13-4-5 UPDATE ALTHOUGH THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A RECEIPT OF WORK THAT WAS DONE. ON THE MORNING OF 8/30/2013 THE CAR EXPERIENCED OVERHEATING AND BURNING UNDER THE HOOD. A SERVICE PERSON FROM THE SCHAUMBER FORD DEALERSHIP IN ILLINOIS MET TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR DUE TO THE WEEKEND SCHEDULE. THE ISSUE IS STILL BEING ADDRESSED BY THE DEALER AT THIS TIME.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STARTING SUDDENLY SOUNDING LIKE FIREWORKS WERE GOING OFF. LOUD, AND SCARY NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENT. CONTINUED TO BLAIR STARTLING LOUD SOUNDS FOR PROLONGED TIME.
I was driving down [XXX] . I stopped at a stoplight. When the light turned green I pressed the gas to accelerate when suddenly mid intersection my transmission went out causing me to have no power. Approximately 5 minutes prior to this I did get a message about a transmission malfunction. Due to the transmission going out I was stuck in the intersection. I had it towed to a shop where they have confirmed that the Transmission Control Module (TCM) has failed. There are a couple parts of the transmission that they have not been able to confirm whether they are working due to the TCM failing. I believe that the TCM failing can put drivers in a potentially unsafe position like it did to me. I was stuck in an intersection of 2 very busy roads due to this failure. I dont currently have the part that failed with me. It is still currently on the vehicle. The vehicle and component has not been inspected by anyone other than the shop it was towed to. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My low beam heads both stopped working at the same time. Upon investigation I identified the problem came from corrosion of the relay in the battery junction box. This problem exactly matches a Ford recall for some 2013 Ford fiesta manufactured in Canada. My vehicle is not covered by this recall, but the problem and failure point is identical. The text of that recall is as follows: "Safety recall in certain Canadian provinces of select 2012-13 Ford Fiesta vehicles for potential battery junction-box corrosion Ford is issuing a safety recall for certain 2012-13 Ford Fiesta vehicles in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec. In affected vehicles, battery junction-box relay or fuse corrosion can lead to a loss of low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps while driving. This action affects 13,564 vehicles in Canada. Affected vehicles were built at Cuautitlán Assembly Plant from June 25, 2011, through April 27, 2013. Dealers will clean the battery junction box, install foam sealing to the cover and replace any corroded fuses, terminals or relays. There will be no charge to the customer for these services. The Ford reference number for this recall is 19S28"
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, there was a loud rattling sound coming from the vehicle and the vehicle experienced a loss of power and decelerated. The vehicle was driven to a nearby service station. After restarting the vehicle and shifting to drive(D), the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was later towed to the local mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 131,000.
