WHILE DRIVING AT 50-55 MPH, CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT NEAR THE FENDER HEAD LIGHT. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE AIR BAGS CONTAINED CHEMICALS THAT BURNED BOTH PASSENGER/AND OWNER ON THE FACE, AND THE OTHERS ON THEIR UPPER CHEST AREA. *AK *SCC

I PURCHASED A USED 1997 FORD TAURUS ON NOVEMBER THE 10TH OF 2008 FROM A LOCAL DEALER. ON 11/21/08 AT APPROXIMATELY 2100 HOURS MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE AFOREMENTIONED VEHICLE, WHEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BY IT'S SELF. MY DAUGHTER TRIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY APPLYING BOTH FEET TO THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, AT THIS TIME SHE DECIDED TO JUMP FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER DOING SO THE VEHICLE CLIMBED A 6 % GRADE HILL APPROXIMATELY 700 FEET THROUGH A FIELD, BEFORE RAMPING A 6 FOOT PILE OF LIMESTONE. THE VEHICLE TRAVELED 14 FEET THROUGH THE AIR BEFORE IMPATING THE GROUND. AFTER IMPACTING THE GROUND THE VEHICLE MADE A RIGHT TURN AND TRAVELED ANOTHER 1500 FEET BEFORE IMPACTING A DITCH AND A TREE. WITNESSES STATED THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TRAVELING NEARLY 90 MPH AS TRAVELED THROUGH THE FIELD, THE ENGINE WAS STILL ACCELERATING AFTER STRIKING THE TREE. THE IGNITION HAD TO BE TURNED OFF FOR THE ENGINE TO STOP ACCELERATING. TOTAL DISTANCE THE VEHICLE TRAVELED WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE WAS 2190 FEET. REMEMBER THE FIRST 700 FEET WAS UP HILL THROUGH A FIELD (THE HILL WAS APPROXIMATELY A 6 % GRADE). *TR
I WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE CAR ACCIDENT WITH SOME STONE GUARD RAILS ON ROUTE 18 NORTH IN EATONTOWN, NEW JERSEY. MY SEAT BELT RELEASE ON IMPACT AND SENT ME FLYING TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR ON TOP OF MY BOYFRIEND. ALSO THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. AND WE HIT THE GURAD RAILS AT 65 MPH. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SOMETHING BACK FROM SOMEONE AT THE FORD HEADQUARTERS. BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND AND I COULD HAV LOST OURS LIVES DUE TO THE DEFECTS OF THIS CAR. THE CAR IS TOTALED OUT. ANDMY BOYFRIEND ONLY WALKED AWAY WITH A BRUISED SHOULDER AND WHIPLASH, WHILE I ON THE OTHER HAND HAD A CONCUSSION, WHIPLASH AND VARIOUS MUSCLE STRAINS. I THANK MY GOD . *AK
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HIT A TELEPHONE POLE. *MR *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK *SC *JB
THE VEHICLE HYDRO PLANED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT 40 MPH ON A WET ROAD. AS A RESULT THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND IMPACTED A GUARD RAIL HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, NONE OF THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED SERIOUS THUMB INJURIES WHEN IT CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL, AND REQUIRED SURGERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. *AK *SC
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN THEY WERE HIT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING MINOR INJURIES TO THE CONSUMER. DEALER NOTIFIED. *MR THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. BEFORE THE CRASH A COMPLETE REPAIR KIT WAS PLACED IN THE VEHICLE BUT THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. *SCC
WHILE IN MOTION, CONSUMER PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK IN THE DOWNWARD POSITION. CONSUMER PRESSED AGAIN, HOPING THE PEDAL WOULD DISENGAGE ITSELF BUT TO NO AVAIL. *JG *JB
THE ACCELERATOR STUCK, WHEN I PRESSED IT DOWN TRYING TO MERGE ON THE FREEWAY, SO I PRESSED IT DOWN HARD HOPING IT WOULD POP BACK UP, BUT IT DID NOT. SO I HELD THE BRAKE DOWN HOPING THIS WOULD BRING THE ACCELERATOR BACK UP BUT THAT DID NOT WORK EITHER. SO AS A RESULT I HAD TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR WHILE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY, I DID THIS WHILE HOLDING THE BRAKE DOWN TO SLOW THE CAR UP. I WAS NOT SERIOUSLY HURT. MY CAR INSTEAD OF CRASHING INTO THE OFF RAMP WALL DECIDED TO PROCEED STRAIGHT ONTO THE FREEWAY TO THE CENTER DIVIDE WHERE THE FRONT TIRE STOPPED IT. I WAS GIVEN A RIDE BY A MOTORIST THAT ALMOST HIT ME WHEN I JUMPED OUT THE CAR. WHEN MY CAR WAS FOUND THE TIRES WERE STILL SPINNING BECAUSE THE PEDAL WAS STILL STUCK, NEITHER OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE CRASH. DT
VEHICLE WAS IN A REAR END COLLISON AND BOTH FRONT SEATBACKS COLLAPSED, AND LAUNCHED BACKWARDS ON IMPACT.BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE INJURED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 10MPH REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE, AND AIRBAGS DIDNOT DEPLOY. DRIVER WAS INJURED. DEALER CONTACTED. FRONTAL IMPACT. *AK
CAR WAS AT A COMPLKETE STOP IN A PARKING SPACE, WHEN IT SUDDINLY ACCELERATED UNCONTROLABLE FORWARD AND STOPPED WHEN IT HIT A TREE/. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 30MPH ON A SIDE STREET, AND THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE PARKED ON SIDE OF ROAD, AND CONSUMER'S VEHICLE HIT OTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY.WHENEVER THE ALTERNATOR GETS WET THE LIGHT GOMES ON AND THE POWER STEERING FAILS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. NLM

WAS DRIVING & LOST CONTROL. HIT A SIGN, THEN HEAD-ON INTO A CEMENT WALL & BLACKED OUT. AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED SOME INJURIES. REFUSED TREATMENT UNTIL MUCH LATER. AIR BAGS HAD PREVIOUSLY DEPLOYED IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT & WERE REPAIRED. *AK *ML
THE ACCIDENT WAS AT A VERY LOW SPEED (~15 MPH) AND MORE DAMAGE AND INJURY WAS CAUSED BY THE AIR BAGS THAN BY THE CRASH. ONLY THE FRONT BUMPER OF THE CAR WAS DAMAGED BY THE CRASH, YET THE AIR BAG SHATTERD THE WINDSHILD AND BLEW OUT THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUFFERED HEARING LOSS, FACIAL BURNS AND GLASS CUTS FROM THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
WHILE DRIVING ON A LOCAL STREET VEHICLE THEN REMAINED STANDING AT AN INTERSECTION AT A RED LIGHT WITH TWO VEHICLES AHEAD. ANOTHER VEHICLE, TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON CONNECTICUT AVE MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO VAN NESS, WAS TRAVELING TOO FAST, LOST CONTROL AND SIDE SWIPED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF CONSUMER'S VEHICLE, PUSHING IT ONTO THE SIDEWALK. A CHAIN REACTION STARTED IN WHICH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS HIT HEAD-ON. UPON IMPACT, PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AFTER THE PASSENGER HIT THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE SEAT BELT DIDN'T LOCK IN PLACE.
