2ND REQUEST ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENTS, REQUESTING NHTSA NOT ONLY RECALL THE 2001 FORD TAURUS BUT REOPEN A 2007 INVESTIGATION RE THIS MATTER, ES HAVE NO REC OF PREVIOUS LTR FM SEN. MCCONNELL BUT RE ES11-005500/S/ C.LIEU *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HER BROTHER AND HIS FRIEND DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT, AND A THIRD PASSENGER WAS INJURED, WHEN THE REAR SPRING BROKE AND CAUSED HIM TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
MY PARENTS WERE GETTING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. MY DAD WAS STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH ALL OF HIS STRENGTH BUT THE CAR KEPT MOVING THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHERE THEY WERE HIT BY SEVERAL VEHICLES. MY FATHER HAD MULTIPLE SERIOUS INJURIES AND DIED ON AUGUST 10TH OF 2007 AS A RESULT OF THOSE INJURIES. *TR
2001 FORD TAURUS. CONSUMER REQUEST A RECALL ON REAR COIL SPRINGS ON 2001 FORD TAURUS AND MERCURY SABLE VEHICLES *TGW THE CONSUMERS SON WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE REAR COIL SPRINGS. THE DRIVER, WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD, BUT REGAINED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT SUDDENLY HE VEERED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT, TOWARD THE MEDIAN WHICH SLOPED DOWNWARD AND BACK UP TO THE SOUTHBOUND LANES. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED AND LANDED ON ITS WHEELS AND WAS STUCK BY A SOUTHBOUND TRAILER TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEED. THE IMPACT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE KILLED THE CONSUMERS SON AND THE FRONT PASSENGER AND LEFT THE REAR PASSENGER WITH SERIOUS INJURIES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE DRIVERS SIDE AND FRONT PASSENGERS SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AN UNKNOWN SUBSTANCE EMITTED FROM BOTH AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MERGE THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS AND INSPECTION. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT CODES WERE CLEARED. THE MODULE WAS SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO LATER DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE LEGAL ANALYSIS INDICATED THAT THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM WAS NOT DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED WITHOUT A RESPONSE. THE VEHICLE THEN SLIGHTLY CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE WAS REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN CAUTIOUSLY. A SECOND POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT UNTO THE STREET, AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CAME SPEEDING DOWN THE ROAD AND DIDN'T BLOW HER HORN OR SLOW DOWN WHEN SHE SAW ME, AND COLLIDED INTO MY VEHICLE. THE IMPACT OF THE OTHER VEHICLE PUSHED MY CAR OUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF HE STREET. I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON. I HAD PASSENGER IN CAR WITH ME. THEY HAD THERE SEATBELT ON TOO. NEITHER AIR BAGS OPENED. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, I HAD TO GO TO MISS WORK BECAUSE MY BACK WAS HURTING SO BAD. THE VERY NEXT DAY I GOT A RIDE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM BECAUSE MY BACK WAS HURTING SO SEVERELY. THE DR. DIAGNOSED ME WITH CHRONIC BACK PAIN WHICH WAS DUE FROM ACCIDENT. I WAS PRESCRIBED 2 TYPES OF MEDICATION TO TAKE, AND DR. SAID I MAY HAVE TO SEE A SPECIALIST IF NO IMPROVEMENT. I HAVE DR REPORT AND ACCIDENT REPORT UPON REQUEST. I AM STILL IN PAIN. *TR

THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING 25 TO 30 MPH SEVERAL DEER RAN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING HIM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON A DIRT ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS CRUSHED WHEN IT ROLLED OVER AND IT WAS ALSO DESTROYED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS SHOULDER. THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR IMPACT ACCIDENT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARKED ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE CONTACT WAS WEARING THE SEATBELT BUT STILL SUFFERED MAJOR AND PERMANENT INJURIES. THE FUEL LINE DID NOT SHUT OFF DURING THE ACCIDENT AND THE FRONTAL DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNAL PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT. AN POLICE REPORT WAS PROCESSED. FURTHER EXAMINATION OF THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DONE BY THE INSURANCE AGENCY.
ON NOVEMBER 6,2005 MY 93 YEAR OLD AUNT (THERESA FISHER) WAS INJURED IN A CAR CRASH INVOLVING UNINTENDED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT ON HER BEHALF SINCE I HOLD DURABLE POWER OF ATTORNEY, AND SHE IS UNABLE TO FILE THIS HERSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS A 2001 FORD TAURUS OWNED AND OPERATED BY MY 79 YEAR OLD COUSIN, ROSE NATALE (HER FIRST ACCIDENT IN 52 YEARS OF DRIVING). SHE WAS EXITING A PARKING LOT IN BRICK NJ AT 5 TO 10 MPH WHEN THE TAURUS "TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET ON ITS OWN". SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE - HIT A TREE HEAD ON - AIRBAGS DEPLOYED - BOTH OCCUPANTS (WEARING SEAT BELTS) WERE INJURED. POLICE AND AMBULANCE ARRIVED ON SCENE - DRIVER AND PASSENGER TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL - POLICE REPORT ON FILE IN BRICK, NEW JERSEY.
