CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 70MPH ON HIGHWAY AND VEHICLE STARTED PICKING SPEED AND LANDED IN A DITCH. DRIVER HAD TO TURN VEHICLE OFF. BRAKES BURNED UP AND VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED. NOTHING WAS BEING DONE, AND CONSUMER WILL TALK WITH A LAWYER. *AK
WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE I TOUCHED BREAK AND THE VAN ACCELERATED TO FULL THROTTLE. THE VAN JUMPED THE CURB AND WAS HEADING TOWARD 3 PEOPLE, I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL ENOUGH TO HIT A LIGHT POLE INSTEAD OF THEM. THE VAN QUIT RACING FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN REVVED UP AGAIN. THE LIGHT POLE FELL AND I WAS AGAIN HEADED TOWARD THE PEOPLE. I PUT BOTH FEET ON THE BREAK AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VAN, BUT NOT BEFORE HITTING THE PEOPLE. LUCKILY THEY WERE JUST BRUISED BECAUSE I JUST BUMPED THEM AND DIDN'T RUN OVER THEM. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. I ALMOST KILLED SOME PEOPLE AND NO LONGER HAVE TRANSPORTATION BECAUSE THE VAN WAS TOTALED.
MAY 7, 2005, I WAS IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT. THE OTHER CAR WAS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ACCORD HIT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF MY 1996 DODGE CARAVAN JUST IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATED, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT. THROUGH THE COURSE OF HAVING THIS CAR, THE "AIRBAG" LIGHT WAS AN ISSUE ALMOST FROM DAY ONE. WHEN I WOULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BILL KAY CHRYSLER IN NAPERVILLE, THEY WOULD CHECK IT AND FIND NOTHING WRONG. FINALLY I WAS TOLD TO IGNORE THE "AIRBAG" LIGHT THAT THERE WAS A FAULTY SENSOR THAT COULD NOT BE FIXED.
BOUGHT USED 1996 DODGE IN SEPT 2003 AND HAVE REPLACE BRAKES, ROTOR, AND CALIPERS 6 TIMES. MECHANICS DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE IT COULD BE. BRAKES ALSO LOCK WHEN I PRESS ON THEM AND HIT BUMP AT SAME TIME CAUSING VAN TO SLIDE WITH ME AND MY INFANT IN IT. HAVE TO REPLACE BRAKES AND ROTORS EVERY 2-3 MONTHS SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BY THE DODGE COMPANY TO RECALL THESE DODGE CARAVANS, THIS SITE HAS ABOUT 50% ON COMPLAINTS ON BRAKES AND ROTORS. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, HOWEVER, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED CHEST AND NECK INJURIES., AND FRONT END SUFFERED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. *AK
CONSUMER STATES WHILE TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIDE GAINING MORE SPEED, CONSUMER HIT A RETAINING WALL AND CAME TO A STOP. NONE OF THE VEHICLES AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER FEELS AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. MR
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, CONSUMER ALSO STATED THAT THE SEAT COLLAPSED, THERE WAS ONE INJURY.*JB
WHILE AT A STOP ANOTHER VEHICLE REAR ENDED CONSUMER AT ABOUT 55 MPH. BOTH PASSENGERS' SIDE SEATBACKS COLLASPED. AS A RESULT OF SEATBACK COLLASPING CONSUMER FELT SOME OF THE INJURIES WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO BAD. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
TRAVELING SOUTH AT 55MPH. CAR FROM WEST SIDE STREET PULLED OUT ONTO HIGHWAY. STOPPED IN THE SLOW LANE THAT I WAS IN.TURNED MY WHEEL TO LEFT TO AVOID HITTING OTHER STOPPED CAR RIGHT IN DOOR. I HIT HER CAR IN FRONT OF DRIVERS DOOR. THEN WE HIT MY PASSANGER SIDE WITH OTHER CAR. TWO IMPACTS FIRST HEAD ON THEN ON SIDE. PASSANGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT. AS THE DRIVER I SUSTAINED CHEST AND ARM FRACTURES. CONTACTED DODGE . INVESTOGATOR CAME OUT AND LOOKED AT VAN. REPORT FROM DODGE SAID THE VAN WORKED AS IT SHOULD. HOW DOES ONE AIR BAG GO OFF AND NOT THE OTHER. WHY BOTHER HAVEING TWO. BOTH HAD SEAT BELT ON.*AK
THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING EXTENSIVE ACCIDENT, AND THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY, AS WELL AS THE HORN NOW DOES NOT WORK. BOTH FAILURES COINCIDED WITH EACH OTHER. THE SYMPTOM STARTED RATHER INTERMITTENT, THEN BECAME SOLID WITHIN ABOUT TWO WEEKS. I FOUND THAT I DO NEED A HORN, SOMETHING I THOUGHT I NEVER USED. A FUNCTIONING AIRBAG WOULD BE NICE!*AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 55-60 MPH VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED AND FORCED INTO A GUARDRAIL, DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT, SHE GOT ANOTHER VAN FROM THE DEALER IN JULY 2001 AND SHE WAS IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT ON NOVEMBER 2001 THAT SAME THING HAPPENED. THE BAG IN THIS VAN DID NOT DEPLOY. *YH
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 20MPH ON STREET, PASSING ONTO HIGHWAY. WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE VEERED INTO HER DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, CAUSING A COLLISION, AND FORCING PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG TO GO OFF. BUT DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY, THE CONSUMER WAS HIT BY A VEHICLE WHICH WAS GOING PAAROXIMARELY 40-50 MPH, VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. NLM. TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN ACCIDENT.

DURING A FULL FRONTAL IMPACT AT 30-35 MPH (ESTIMATED), NEITHER FRONT AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE INITIAL REVIEW BY THE BODY SHOP INDICATES THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BE TOTALED. THE EXTENT OF INJURIES TO MY WIFE (DRIVER) ARE UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME AS THEY HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE COURSE OF THE DAY (PAIN IN LEFT WRIST AND HAND, RIGHT ELBOW, AND CHEST). SHE WILL BE SEEKING MEDICAL ATTENTION.*AK
OUR 2 1/2 YEAR OLD SON WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE WITHOUT PRESSING ON BRAKE PEDAL, CAUSING THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD AND CRASH INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. *AK
AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN A 35MPH CRASH, WIFE HIT STEERING WHEEL AND DASH BOARD.
BRAKE FAILURE: MADE NOISE WHEN BRAKES APPLIED; DEALER REPLACED DRUMS TWICE. NOTHING WRONG W/ROTORS; FAILURE OF POWER BOOSTER CAUSED ACCIDENT. INFORMED DEALER 7 TIMES. DEALER REPAIRED/REPLACED OR CHANGED DIFFERENT PARTS OF BRAKES, EACH TIME. *AK
DURING FRONT END COLLISION THE REAR BENCH SEAT BUCKLED, DAUGHTER WHO WAS A PASSENGER IN THE REAR BENCH SEAT, SUSTAINED COMPRESSION FRACTURE OF L2 VERTEBRATE. SHE WA SWEARING A SEAT BELT. *AK
GOING 35MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE MADE RIGHT, AVOIDING VEHICLE IN ROAD; PICKUP MAKING LEFT & WAS REARENDED BY DODGE. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. JUST ABLE TO DRIVE VEHICLE BACK HOME. DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES & BACK SPASMS. *AK
VEHICLE HIT A POST IN THE PARKING LOT AND THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. ALSO THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RETAIN THE DRIVER IN THE SEAT WHICH CAUSED THE DRIVER TO GET HURT. INVESTIGATION (DP-96- 014) FOR DEFECTIVE AIR BAG SENSOR. *AK
