TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISING AROUND HER CHEST THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE RADIATOR AND THEY REPLACED THE HOOD. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT HER EMPLOYER OWNED A FLEET OF VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

A CAR CUT A BUS OFF ON HWY44 WWST IN INVERNESS FL, WE ALL HAD TO HIT OUR BRAKES AND ENDING UP HITTING ANOTHER CAR AT 30-40 MPH. WHEN MADE INPACK WITH THE OTHER CAR THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF LEADING TO INJURIES AND HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL.

DESCRIPTION: I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 10 JAN 2010 WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 DODGE CARAVAN SXT. THE ACCIDENT WAS INITIALLY CAUSED BY AN INDIVIDUAL CARRYING FURNITURE IN THE BACK OF HIS PICK-UP TRUCK. THE FURNITURE FELL OUT OF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK FORCED MYSELF AND ANOTHER DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME TO SLAM ON OUR BRAKES. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED MY BRAKES HOWEVER THE ABS DID NOT ENGAGE AND I SKIDDED INTO THE CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCK THAT WAS TRAVELING IN FRONT OF ME. I LEFT TWO 50FT SKID MARKS (MY ESTIMATE) BEHIND ME. ULTIMATELY, THE FAILURE OF THE ABS SYSTEM CAUSED ME TO IMPACT THE REAR OF THE SILVERADO. ADDITIONALLY, AND JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. I WAS LATER INFORMED BY DODGE/CHRYSLER, WHO I COMPLAINED TO, THAT BASED ON THE AREA OF IMPACT THE SENSORS WERE NOT DAMAGED, WHICH IN-TURN WAS THE DETERMINING FACTOR WHY THEY DIDN'T DEPLOY. WHEN THE KNEE AIRBAG DEPLOYED HOWEVER, THE DOOR COVERING IT WAS WHAT HIT MY MOTHER IN BOTH HER SHINS WITH THE FORCE OF THE AIR BAG BEHIND IT! ALTHOUGH IT DID NOT BREAK ANY BONES, THE IMPACT CAUSED EXTENSIVE BLEEDING AND EDEMA UNDER THE SKIN. SHE SUFFERED A CRACKED RIB AND BREAST BONE IN THE ACCIDENT, WHICH WE ALL UNDERSTAND, BUT THE ADDED AGONY OF HAVING TWO EXTREMELY BRUISED AND SWOLLEN LEGS (PURPLE, GREEN, RED--WITH LIME SIZED CLOTS UNDER THE SKIN) FROM HER KNEES TO HER ANKLES CAUSED BY THIS "SAFETY DEVICE" IS INFURIATING!!! THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER AT THE TIME THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

NEW CHRYSLER MASTER CYLINDER INSTALLED ALL OK , BEWARE CHRYSLER OWNERS OF THIS PROBLEM. IT WAS MY FIRST 100% FAILURE IN 35 YEARS OF WORKING ON CARS.
