THE 2005 COROLLA WAS SLOWED DOWN FOR TRAFFIC AHEAD ON THE HIGHWAY AND REAR ENDED BY A DRIVER, WHO THEN COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER CAR. AFTER BEING REAR ENDED THE 2005 COROLLA THEN HIT ANOTHER CAR. THE AIR BAG AS DEPLOYED AND THE DRIVER (THE ONLY PERSON IN THE CAR ) WAS NOT ALIVE WHEN FIRST RESPONDERS ARRIVED. THE AT FAULT DRIVER THEN REAR ENDED ANOTHER DRIVER (WHO SURVIVED). UNKNOWN FAULT OR PROBLEM THAT CAUSED THE UNSAFE CONDITION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER SON THE DRIVER, WHOM WAS DRIVING AT 50 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE VEERED INTO HIS LANE CAUSING HIM TO SWERVE, LOSING CONTROL AND CRASHING INTO A GUARD RAIL HEAD ON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED UNDER AN AIR BAG RECALL ON FEBRUARY 2, 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FAILURE DIAGNOSIS AS THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS AND TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE BELIEVED THE RECALL WAS FOR THE PASSENGER'S AIR BAG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS RIGHT EYE, MOUTH AND FOREHEAD THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION AS HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT I BEGAN TO STEP ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CRASH INTO A WALL CAUSING A MAJOR INJURIES TO MY BODY AND CAR. THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER START AND I HAD TO TOW THE CAR TO MY HOME UNTIL A MECHANIC CAME TO START THE CAR AND WE HAD NOTICED THAT WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK IT WILL KEEP GOING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE STOPPED BEHIND A VEHICLE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK FROM THE REAR BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS PUSHED FORWARD INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A HEMATOMA OVER THE LEFT EYE, A CHIPPED TOOTH, AND A FRACTURED NOSE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LACERATION TO THE LIPS FROM HER MOUTH STRIKING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A NEARBY HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIR BAG WAS REPLACED SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CRASH. TOYOTA AIRBAG RECALL: I CALLED TOYOTA TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS FIXED BACK IN NOVEMBER. I WAS SET UP WITH THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS REPLACED. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO ORDER PARTS FOR THAT SERVICE AND WOULD CALL ME ONCE THOSE PARTS CAME IN. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT THIS AGAIN AND THEY HAVE NOT FOLLOWED UP WITH ME ON MY INQUIRIES.

I WAS DRIVING NORTHBOUND IN A 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA ON AVALON PARK BLVD. FORD FUSION HEADING SOUTHBOUND ENTERED LEFT TURN LANE AND DID NOT SLOW DOWN. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE CONTINUED INTO THE INTERSECTION AND COLLIDED WITH MY COROLLA ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. MY HEAD HIT THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOW ON DRIVER'S SIDE UPON IMPACT AND IMMEDIATELY MY BODY JERKED TO THE RIGHT. DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE AIRBAG DID FINALLY DEPLOY AS MY BODY JERKED TO THE RIGHT WHICH CAUSED BURNS ON MY LEFT ARM. I AND THE OTHER DRIVER DROVER OUR VEHICLES INTO THE 7-11 PARKING LOT AND I CALLED 9-11. ORANGE COUNTY FIRE & RESCUE HAD TO EXTRACT ME FROM MY COROLLA AND PLACE ME IN AN AMBULANCE. I WAS TAKEN TO FLORIDA HOSPITAL EAST EMERGENCY FOR TREATMENT. OTHER DRIVER WAS CITED FOR FAILING TO YIELD RIGHT AWAY. MY INSURANCE SAYS MY 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA WAS A TOTAL LOSS. TOYOTA HAS BEEN NOTIFIED AND IT IS BEING INVESTIGATED. I AM ALSO OBTAINING A PRODUCT LIABILITY LAWYER SINCE THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. I AM CURRENTLY GOING TO PHYSICAL THERAPY 3 TIMES A WEEK.
