The contact owned a 2012 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while parking in a post office parking lot and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle experienced sudden and unintended acceleration, crashed into a tree, and shut off. There was no warning light illuminated before or after the crash. There was no property damage. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained a hematoma and pain in the right arm. The contact's friend transported the contact to Urgent Care, where the contact received medical assistance. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was totaled by the insurance company. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The contact stated that she had reported a similar incident to NHTSA via mail in 2012. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
I got a car accident on Oct 30,2024. The air bag didn't deployed and my head has been injured.

On March 30, 2023, at approximately 7:10 pm, my son was involved in an auto accident with his 2012 Toyota Corolla and his airbags did not deploy. His vehicle was impacted on the driver’s side fender and bumper. He was traveling, approximately 50 mph in the center lane. The other vehicle that was involved had their airbags deploy. My son did experience chest, shoulder and neck pain from the impact. He was taken to Baylor-Scott and White Hospital for his injuries. The vehicle was inoperable and towed to the Lewisville impound for storage. The Flower Mound Police Department responded to the accident and an accident report was completed. On March 05, 2020, I received a notice for the Airbag Safety Recall for VIN 5YFBU4EE1CP051025. On April 03, 2020, I received a payment of $62.25 for the Takata Airbag Product Liability Litigation, No. 1:15md-02599-FAM. On May 19, 2020, the Toyota Corolla was serviced at Lone Star Toyota pursuant to the safety recall. An Airbag Harness Kit was installed.

AFTER THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED, THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE COLLIDED INTO THEM DAMAGING THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE INJURIES SUSTAINED AND THE CONTACT RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND WAS TOWED TO ALLEN'S PARMA TOWING ( 5109 PEARL RD, CLEVELAND, OH 44129). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.

THE VEHICLE THEN SPUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES AND CRASHED INTO A CEMENT BARRIER. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS CONTACTED AND TOOK THE CONTACT TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS TREATED FOR HER INJURIES. THE CONTACT SPENT ONE NIGHT IN THE HOSPITAL TO RECONSTRUCT HER JAW. THE POLICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A HOLDING LOT WHERE THE INSURANCE ADJUSTOR WENT OUT AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. BILL ESTES TOYOTA (3232 HARPER RD, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46240, (317) 434-6990) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE OTHER DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO HER RESIDENCE AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE VIN TOOL SHOWED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PLACED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V024000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAG HIT MY LEFT ARM WHEN IT DEPLOYED. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL AFTER MY INSURANCE COMPANY COMPLETED AN EVUALATION ON MY TOYOTA CAROLLA. WITH IT NOT BEING FIXED IT MAY HAVE DECREASED THE VALUE OF MY CAR.

REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER PANELS WERE STRUCK IN TWO SEPARATE ACCIDENTS ONE CAUSING HARM TO THE DRIVER. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS REAR-ENDED BY A SPEEDING VEHICLE AND KNOCKED INTO A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS STOPPED AT THE TIME OF IMPACT ON A 4-LANE ROADWAY IN A BUSINESS DISTRICT WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE THAT HIT ME WAS SPEEDING. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I COULD NOT STOP COMING DOWN A HILL (IT WAS SNOWING IN MASSACHUSETTS) AND I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE (I WAS DRIVING) IN FRONT OF THE TIRE DAMAGING EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF THE FRONT TIRES. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC WHO ASSESSED THE DAMAGE THAT THEY 100% SHOULD'VE DEPLOYED. I SUFFERED A CONCUSSION TO THE HEAD AND NECK, SHOULDER, BACK AND LEFT LEG SPASMS. I WAS DIAGNOSED AT THE HOSPITAL THE DAY AFTER THE ACCIDENT. *TR
THE FIRST ACCIDENT IN THIS CAR, I RAN OFF THE ROAD AND LOST CONTROL HITTING A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I SUSTAINED AN INJURY FROM THIS ACCIDENT. MY LEFT LEG BROKE. AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, ANOTHER VEHICLE LOST CONTROL IN FRONT OF ME AND I COLLIDED WITH IT. THE FRONT OF MY CAR IMPACTED THE DRIVER-SIDE/REAR-END OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 60-65 MPH. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT, BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. AS A RESULT OF THE AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING, I HAVE PAIN, TENDERNESS, AND SORENESS ON MY CHEST, NECK, AND BACK FROM EITHER HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE SEAT BELT CROSSING MY BODY. I WAS INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND PUSHED FROM THE TRAFFIC LANE ONTO SIDEWALK INTO TELEGRAM POLE. THE IMPACT WAS SO FORCEFUL THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED BUT WAS HELD TOGETHER DUE TO TINE ON WINDOW. OUTSIDE MIRROR SHATTERED AND GLASS CAME INTO CAR. I HAD SEAT BELT ON BUT SOMEHOW MANAGED TO BUMP MY HEAD ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH WAS CRACKED. SUFFERED A MILD CONCUSSION FROM CT SCAN. SO FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE, BUMPER AND PASSENGER SIDE RECEIVED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WHICH MADE THE CAR UNDRIVABLE. DURING THE COURSE OF THE FORCEFUL HIT AND BEING PUSHED ONTO THE SIDEWALK INTO THE TELEGRAM POLE, NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. IN THIS VEHICLE THERE ARE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS WHICH I FEEL SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE OTHER VEHICLE (1998 DURANGO). WOULD LIKE SOME RESEARCH DONE BEFORE I TAKE FURTHER CIVIL ACTION IN REGARDS TO THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS. THE CAR HAS BEEN TOTALED DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND THE BENDING OF THE FRAME ON THE CAR. *TR

LAST YEAR I GOT INTO A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WHICH I BELIEVE WAS CAUSED BY BRAKE FAILURE ON A NEW 2012 TOYOTA COROLLA LE VEHICLE I HAD PURCHASED. I INFORMED BOTH MY INSURANCE COMPANY AT THE TIME AND THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AFTER THE CRASH THAT SOMETHING HAD GONE WRONG WITH MY BRAKES CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL. IT BEGAN TO VEER IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND SWERVING ON THE HIGHWAY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC! I WAS NOT INTOXICATED, TEXTING OR DOING ANYTHING ILLEGAL, SIMPLY ON MY WAY TO WORK.NO ONE TOOK MY COMMENT SERIOUSLY. ANYWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, I RECALL PRESSING THE BRAKE ONE MORE TIME TO STOP THE SWERVING AND THEN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL AND BEGAN TO FLIP OVER ON THE HIGHWAY AND CLIPPED ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT THEN FLIPPED OVER A FEW MORE TIMES CRASHING UPSIDE DOWN INTO A WALL. I THEN RECEIVED A CITATION FOR "IMPROPER LANE CHANGE". I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS ENGAGE IN RECKLESS OR ERRATIC DRIVING ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF ANYONE AND ESPECIALLY NOT MY LIFE! I WAS SIMPLY TRYING TO GET TO WORK AND PRIOR TO THIS I HAD NOT HAD ANY "AT FAULT" ACCIDENTS ON MY RECORD AND I DON'T THINK IT IS FAIR THAT THESE MOTOR VEHICLE COMPANIES, SPECIFICALLY TOYOTA, CAN GET AWAY WITH SELLING DEFECTIVE VEHICLES AND IN THE END IT IS THE CONSUMER THAT MUST PAY THE CONSEQUENCE. IT IS A MIRACLE THAT I EVEN GOT OUT OF THIS ALIVE AND UPON CALLING SEVERAL ATTORNEYS RIGHT AFTER THE ACCIDENT AND ALL THE WAY UNTIL NOW, BECAUSE I AM NOT DEAD OR SERIOUSLY INJURED THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO FOR ME! *TR
I BELIEVE THERE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE RELATED TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE AIR BAG SENSOR. MY WIFE AND A CO-WORKERS WIFE WERE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT SEVERELY DEFORMED THE FRONT OF A 2012 TOYOTA COROLLA WITHOUT TRIGGERING THE AIRBAG SENSOR. UPON INSPECTION, IT APPEARS THAT THE PORTION OF THE CAR THAT THE AIRBAG SENSOR IS ATTACHED TO, MOVED OVER A FOOT AND A HALF WITHOUT TRIGGERING THE AIR BAG SENSOR. AS A FORMER ASE MASTER TECHNICIAN AND TECHNICAL EXPERT FOR THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, THIS MAY BE A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW THAT COULD ENDANGER THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHER 2012 COROLLA OWNERS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE IN THE LEFT LANE PROCEEDED TO ENTER THE RIGHT LANE, THE CONTACT SWERVED OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID A CRASH. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, FACE, LEFT SHOULDER, RIBS, LEGS, AND ABDOMEN. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
