TOYOTA SIENNA ROLLOVER ACCIDENT AT LOW SPEED (35 MPH) RESULTING IN ROOF AND DRIVER SIDE STRUCTURAL FAILURE AND FATAL CRUSHING INJURY TO DRIVER. *TR
CAR WAS IN MOTION, TURNING TO PARK ON SLOPE PARKING AREA THEN GEAR FALL OUT AND ROLLING BACKWARD, THEREFORE TRY TO SHIFT INTO PARKING GEAR, ALL GEARS DIDN'T WORK, GEAR SHIFT WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL THEN CAR ROLLED DOWNHILL TO OTHER SIDE OF CURVE. TO PREVENT ACCIDENT I GOT OUT TO STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING BY HOLDING ON TO THE REAR DOOR HANDLE, COULD'NT STOP IT, IN THE PROCESS I HAD INJURY TO MY LEFT SHOULDER AND BACK.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO TWO OTHER VEHICLES. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP WHEN IT CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE BACK, NECK, SHOULDER, CHEST, KNEES, AND HIPS. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE SHOULDER AND STOMACH. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER'S ENGINEER WOULD INSPECT THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AT LEAST FOUR TIMES TO THE LEFT AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE TWICE WHILE SPINNING. THE CONTACT QUICKLY POWERED OFF THE ENGINE TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM SPINNING. THE CONTACT WAITED ONE HOUR BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS IN SHOCK AND WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED FOOT, RIGHT HIP, AND BACK INJURIES. THE FRONT PASSENGER ALSO SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES. BOTH OCCUPANTS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
WHILE I WAS PARKING MY TOYOTA SIENNA THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE VAN TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET! MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND ONLY THE BRAKE THE ENTIRE TIME. I FINALLY STOPPED AFTER RUNNING UNCONTROLLABLY INTO A BUILDING!

WAS INVOLVED IN A MVC WHERE THE VEHICLE WENT OFF THE ROAD, THE FRONT END HIT FIRST OVER AN EMBANKMENT, AND THEN THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO ROLL MULTIPLE TIMES. THERE WERE NO AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY, YET THE AIRBAG SENSORS ON THE FRONT OF VEHICLE WERE SMASHED FLAT? THERE WASH TOTAL LOSS OF THE VEHICLE. REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION OF THE VEHICLE AIRBAGS AS TO WHY THEY DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE HAS ALREADY BEEN RELEASED TO SALVAGE YARD BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY BUT A "HOLD" HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE VEHICLE PENDING AN INVESTIGATION. *TR

THE CAR WAS IN PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. WITHOUT PUTTING THE CAR IN DRIVE, THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD AFTER I EXITED THE VEHICLE. I QUICKLY TURNED TO GET BACK IN THE CAR TO STOP THE VEHICLE, AS IT WAS ROLLING TOWARDS MY OTHER CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY. IN DOING SO, I SUFFERED A KNEE INJURY, FELL TO THE GROUND I INJURED MY KNEE AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT MADE CONTACT WITH MY OTHER CAR. YESTERDAY, WAITING IN THE STOP LIGHT I HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHEN SOMEBODY HIT ME IN THE REAR BUMPER AT GREAT SPEED AND I HIT ANOTHER CAR AT THE FRONT. OUR INSURED WAS PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELLERATED STRIKING A WALGREENS DRUG STORE. OUR INSURED DRIVER WAS TREATED AND RELEASE AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS AND IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND DOWNLOAD OF THE DATA RECORDER.
I WAS TRAVELING ALONE ON ERRANDS AND HAD STOPPED AT A T-INTERSECTION, POSITIONED AT THE TOP OF THE "T" AND PREPARING TO TURN RIGHT. I'D LET AFEW CARS GO PAST, TRAVELING ON THE MAIN STREET WITH TRAFFIC CLOSEST TO ME GOING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. WHEN THOSE CARS HAD PASSED AND IT WAS SAFE TO TURN RIGHT ONTO THE MAIN STREET, I STARTED TO SLOWLY DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE. SUDDENLY THE CAR BOLTED FORWARD AND OUT OF CONTROL, ACCELERATING DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET AND INTO THE PATH OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC TRAVELING RIGHT TO LEFT. A CAR GOING ABOUT 40 MPH SLAMMED INTO THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND BOTH OUR CARS CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I WAS DAZED FROM THE COLLISION AND EXITED MY CAR FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I COULD SEE THAT THE WHOLE FRONT OF MY CAR, INCLUDING THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED. I WAS IN SHOCK AND A LADY FROM A NEARBY HOUSE WHO HAD HEARD THE CRASH CAME OUT WITH A CHAIR FOR ME TO SIT ME DOWN ON WHILE THE POLICE AND PARAMEDICS WERE ON THE WAY. I NEVER WENT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR AND DON'T KNOW THE CONDITION OF THE OTHER DRIVER OR THEIR CAR. I WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND SUFFERED CHEST, NECK AND BACK PAIN. I AM QUITE SURE IT WAS THE GAS PEDAL STICKING THAT CAUSED THE CAR TO ACCELERATE SO UNEXPECTEDLY AND QUICKLY, PROPELLING ME THROUGH THE CROSS-TRAFFIC AND ONTO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE ACCIDENT AND I AM STILL IN SHOCK OVER IT, NOT TO MENTION NOT KNOWING THE CONDITION, EXTENT OF INJURIES OR EVEN THE IDENTITY OF THE OTHER DRIVER AS YET. *TR
2006 TOYOTA SIENNA - 40,000 MILES. INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL IMPACT WITH A TREE FROM A PEAK VELOCITY OF 40-45 MPH TO AN ESTIMATED IMPACT SPEED OF 20-25 MPH. THE VEHICLE HIT SQUARE IN HOOD CENTER, DEFORMING EVERYTHING BACKWARD SYMMETRICALLY 1-1.5 FEET. INSURANCE COMPANY CLASSIFIED VEHICLE AS A TOTAL LOSS (DAMAGE > $16,000). DRIVER SUFFERED MULTIPLE LEFT ARM INJURIES INCLUDING WRIST DISLOCATION AND FRACTURED FOREARM BONES - RESULTING BECAUSE AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS FOR A WEEK AND THEIR EXPLANATION AT FIRST WAS THAT THE IMPACT SPEED WAS NOT GREAT ENOUGH TO DEPLOY THE AIRBAGS. AFTER VIEWING THE PICTURES, THEY CHANGED THEIR POSITION TO STATE THAT BECAUSE IT WAS A CONCENTRATED IMPACT NOT CENTERED ABOUT THE IMPACT SENSOR, AND NOT AN EVENLY DISTRIBUTED LOAD IMPACT, THE SENSORS WOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED. UNACCEPTABLE. I ASKED THE CS REP IF WE HAD HIT THE TREE IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT AT 100 MPH, WOULD THE AIRBAG HAVE DEPLOYED AND HER ANSWER WAS 'THEORETICALLY NO'. WHETHER THIS LACK OF DEPLOYMENT WAS BY DESIGN OR NOT, I FEEL THIS IS A HORRIFIC IMPACT PROTECTION PHILOSOPHY. NONE OF US WOULD CHOOSE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT, AND CERTAINLY NONE OF US ARE GOING TO HAVE CONTROL OVER WHEN AND WHERE AND HOW FAST AND AT WHAT ANGLE WE WILL MAKE IMPACT. THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF AN ACCIDENT. I GUESS I AM INQUIRING ABOUT THE LEGITIMACY OF THIS EXPLANATION TO ME BY TOYOTA, AND ALSO ABOUT THE REGULATIONS FOR IMPACT SENSOR DEPLOYMENT. WOULD IT NOT BE WISE TO EMPLOY A THIRD IMPACT SENSOR AT VEHICLE CENTER, POSSIBLY WITH A HIGHER DETONATION SPEED? THAT WAY IT WOULD NOT BE ACTIVATING EVERY TIME THERE WERE A 5 MPH BUMP IN THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT, BUT WOULD STILL DEPLOY IF SUBJECTED TO THE TYPE OF IMPACT WE HAVE JUST SEEN. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STREET APPROACHING A 4 WAY STOP. THERE WAS A CAR A GOOD DISTANCE AHEAD OF ME. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP, NOTHING HAPPENED.. I PICKED MY FOOT UP AND PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN, STILL GOING FASTER. NOW I AM GETTING PRETTY CLOSE TO THE OTHER CAR WHICH IS STOPPING FOR THE STOP SIGN. BY NOW I AM GOING PRETTY FAST. THERE WERE CARS COMING THE OTHER WAY, SO I TRIED TO TURN THE CORNER TO AVOID HITTING THEM, WAS GOING TOO FAST TO MAKE THE CORNER, SO WOUND UP HITTING A CONCRETE WALL. I AM VERY SORE, CHEST, RIGHT HAND, LEFT KNEE. LOTS OF BRUISES, LUCKILY NO BROKEN BONES THAT I KNOW OF. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE AIR BAG. THE POLICE ASKED ME IF IT DEPLOYED, I LOOKED DOWN AT THE STEERING COLUMN AND SAW IT THERE, DEFLATED AND WITH A RIP IN IT, BUT I DON'T REMEMBER BEING ACTUALLY HIT WITH IT, HOWEVER I DON'T REMEMBER HITTING MY HAND OR KNEE EITHER,BUT OBVIOUSLY I DID. ON MARCH 14, 2009 MY HUSBAND HIT A TREE HEAD ON WITH THE VAN WHILE TRYING TO AVOID A DEER. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. HE HIT HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND BROKE A BONE IN HIS HAND. THE AIRBAG TRIED TO DEPLOY BUT FAILED. PART OF THE SECTION ON THE STEERING WHEEL IN FRONT OF THE AIRBAG SEPARATED BUT THE BAG DID NOT INFLATE. *TR
I, TOGETHER WITH MY FAMILY HAD A CAR ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED IN STAMFORD, CT. A CAR STRUCK MY VAN PERPENDICULARLY AT THE LEFT REAR WHEEL WHICH CAUSED IT TO SPUN 180 DEGREES. AS THE COLLISION OCCURRED MY SEATBELT SUDDENLY UNBUCKLED WHICH RESULTED MYSELF SLAMMING ON THE SIDE DOOR AND INCURRING MULTIPLE CONTUSION. I FILED A REPORT TO TOYOTA MOTORS ABOUT IT, AND THEY SENT SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT. ACCORDING TO THEIR INSPECTOR THERE IS NO MALFUNCTION TO MY SEATBELT. HE CONCLUDED THAT I MIGHT HAD ACCIDENTALLY PRESS THE RELEASE BUTTON AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. I HAVE NOT TOUCHED THE RELEASE BUTTON OF THE AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. WITH NO WARNING ABS WILL LOCK UP AND CAUSE VAN TO VIOLENTLY SWERVE TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES ONCE , OTHER TIMES SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW. ONLY LASTS FOR A FEW SECONDS. BUT LONG ENOUGH TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. TERRIFYING TO LOOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE UNTIL IT DECIDES TO GIVE YOU CONTROL AGAIN. SEVERAL TRIPS TO DIFFERENT TOYOTA DEALERS AS WELL NO LESS THAN 5 DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND NO ONE HAS ANY IDEA WHAT CAUSES IT. HOWEVER THE TOYOTA DEALERS WERE ALL VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE BUT HAD NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 18 MONTHS. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF PEOPLE TRYING TO SOLVE THE SAME ISSUE IN 2004-2010 TOYOTA'S IN ALL MODELS. PLEASE HELP!

DUE TO A "2006 TOYOTA SIENNA" IN FORT MYERS, FLORIDA, THAT WAS SOLD AS IN VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT MECHANICAL CONDITION AND FREE OF DEFECTS. IT IS BEEN RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT A MAJOR FRONT END ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON 11/16/206 IN FLORIDA. THE IMPACT SEVERITY CAUSED FUNCTIONALITY CONCERNS AND DEFECTS TO THE AIRBAGS, AIRBAG SENSOR, AND SEAT BELTS WHICH WERE NEVER REPAIRED PROPERLY FROM THIS ACCIDENT AND LEFT DAMAGED AND DEFECTIVE. SADLY, THE CARFAX HISTORY HAD ONLY BEGUN REPORTING THIS DATA ON 10/31/2011. THE OWNERS OR USED CAR DEALERSHIP NEGLECTED TO DISCLOSE THIS FACTS AND OTHER SEVERE DEFECTS, RECALLS, AND DAMAGES THAT OCCURRED TO THE ENGINE. THE INTERNAL DAMAGES AND SAFETY FEATURES WERE DISCOVERED THROUGH LEGITIMATE DIAGNOSTIC BY TOYOTA.
