1999 FORD EXPEDITION COLLIDED HEAD-ON WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. BOTH WERE TRAVELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE EXPEDITION IMMEDIATELY CAUGHT FIRE, INCLUDING THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.THE FIRE WALL FAILED AND FUEL APPARENTLY FED THE FIRE.

RANGEL (TX0) RE 1999 FORD EXPEDITION INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT ON 07/11/00 WHICH RESULTED IN ONE FATALITY AND ONE INJURY. *MR PH. 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND IT WAS NOTED THE VEHICLE HAD STEERING PROBLEMS, THE STEERING WAS OVER SENSITIVE, BUT WAS EXPLAINED AS A NORMAL SOUCRE OF THE TRUCK, THE PASSENGER OF THE VEHICLE BELIEVED THE STEERING MAY HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT.*PH *JB
FAX FM EDGAR RANGEL (TX) RE FORD/FIRESTONE, HE WAS INJURED & HIS FRIEND ANGEL NAVARRETE WAS KILLED WHEN THEIR 1999 FORD EXPEDITION W/FIRESTONE TIRES ROLLED OVER DUE TO DEFECTIVE STEERING & TIRES. *MR THIS WAS A SERIOUS ROLLOVER INCIDENT IN WHICH THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT RESPOND PROPERLY. *SCC. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE STEERING PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN THE ACCIDENT. TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND IT WAS NOTED THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE POWER STEERING, BUT WAS EXPLAINED AS A NORMAL SOURCE OF THE VEHICLE. *JB
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON JULY 11 2000 IN WHICH WE ROLLED OVER COUPLE OFF TIMES. WE HAD TAKEN THE EXPEDITION TO THE DEALERSHIP TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT OUR COMPLAINT WAS THAT THE STEERING WAS TOO SOFT AND AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER THE ACCIDENT I LEARNED THAT THE DEALERS WERE INSTALLING ANOTHER GEAR BOX FOR THE STEERING MAKE THE STEEERING HARDER AND FIRMER ALSO THE 2000 HAD A NEW GEAR BOX. SPARK PLUG EJECTED RESULTING IN FIRE. INJURED HAND PUTTING OUT SAID FIRE. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING 46 MPH I FELL ASLEEP HITTING A STEEL TRAFFIC POLE HEAD ON, WHEN MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED BUT MY DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT. MY CAR BURST INTO FLAMES I WAS PULLED OUT OF MY VEHICLE AT THAT TIME MY VEHICLE WAS 190 DEGREES. NOW I HAVE SEIZURES DAILY,BROKEN RIBS, BROKEN DISC IN MY BACK, AND UNABLE TO WORK OR DRIVE DUE TO MY INJURIES. *NM

TL - THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD EXPEDITION EQUIPPED WITH AN EVENFLO INFANT CHILD SEAT, MODEL 3021805, MANUFACTURED IN 2/1/2012. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, SHE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE CAR SEAT HARNESS FRACTURED LEAVING THE BABY UNSECURED. THE BABY OCCUPYING THE CAR SEAT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES; HOWEVER, THE CHILD SEATED ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK MUSCLES. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CAR SEAT WAS NOT REPLACED. PM *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTION ACTIVATED, THE CONTACT STATED SHE APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. THE CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTION DID NOT DEACTIVATE AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO SEVERAL VEHICLES. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISING AND INJURIES TO THE KNEES AND LOWER BACK. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, NOR WAS THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD EXPEDITION EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE WILDERNESS P265/70/R16 DOT8X72 TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A CEMENT DIVIDER. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO THE FACE AND MOUTH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 127,000.
AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM WENT COMPLETELY OUT WHILE RIDING AND CAUSED VEHICLE TO TILT FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON TWO WHEELS , CAUSING VEHICLE TO GO OUT OF CONTROL HITTING TREE. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS DONE TO VEHICLE. THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED AUTOMATICALLY. VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 1999 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER. WHILE DRIVING 57 MPH, A VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND CAUSED A CRASH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 125,418 UPDATED 10/15/08 *BF UPDATED 10/20/08. *JB

WHILE TRAVELING AT 35 TO 40 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN AND HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE ON DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, AND VEHICLE FLIPPED 3 TIMES. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT THEY HIT A TREE HEAD ON AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. CAUSING MINOR INJURIES TO DRIVER. NLM
ON THE 5/21/01 ACCIDENT I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN OFF OF MY CUL A SAC ST AND JUST AS I TURNED THE WHEEL TO GO LEFT VEHICLE LOCKED UP TO THE RIGHT AND I COUND NOT GET IN TO UNLOCK WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT A PARKED CAR, I BOUNCED OFF THE CAR 3 TIMES BEFORE MY TRUCK ROLLOED BACK AND STOPPED.THE POLICE OFFICER TRIED TO TURN THE WHEELS WITH THE TRUCK ON AND WAS UNABLE TO DO SO, ALL FLUIDS RELEASED FROM THE TRUCK. I WAS INJURED IN MY BACK/NECK/SPINE, AND BURN MARKS ON MY RT HAND FROM TRYING TO TURN THE WHEEL TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR. THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED WITHIN 15 FT.ON THE POLICE REPORT IT STATES THAT THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP BUT DUE TO NO WITNESSES HE CAN'T PROVE THIS. BODYSHOP SAID THE GEAR BOX AND ALL THE GEARS ARE DESTROYED AND BECAUSE OF IT LOCKING UP TO THE RIGHT WHEN I WAS MAKING A LEFT IT LOOKS LIKE THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP ALSO. FORD WILL NOT COMMENT ON MY SITUATION AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO DO TO PROTECT MYSELF IF THIS IS A DEFECT PROBLEM. ON THE TRANSMISSION, I TOOK IT TO FORD AND TOLD THEM MY TRUCK WAS SLIPPING AND HAVING PROBLEMS AND THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND FIXED SOME ENGINE PROBLEMS. I HAVE SO MANY THINGS GO WRONG ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE 1999 I'M AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE IT ONCE IT IS FIXED. I"M NOT SURE IT IS SAFE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. PLEASE ADVISE ME IF YOU CAN OR LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR PROCESS IS ON THIS COMPLAINT. *AK
CONSUMER'S WIFE HAD A HEAD-ON COLLISON WITH ANOTHER CAR WHILE TRAVELING 40-45 MPH. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WIFE SUSTAINED SOME INJURIES TO ARM/ SHOULDER AND LEG. *AK
BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN HEADON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER FORD EXPEDITION. ONE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX 70MPH THE OTHER AT 40 MPH. BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOTALLED. *AK
