RED LIGHT UP AHEAD. DRIVER SLOWING DOWN GIVING PLENTY OF SPACE. ENGINE STARTED REVVING AND VEHICLE STARTED SPEEDING UP. DRIVER PUSHED BRAKE AS HARD AS SHE COULD. VEHICLE WAS ALMOST STOPPED BEFORE ACCELERATION BUT ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 10 MPH AT THE TIME OF IMPACT. 2005 FORD EXPEDITION STRUCK REAR OF CAR WHICH WAS STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC AT GAS STATION TO CHECK FOR MECHANICAL PROBLEM- NO DEFECT FOUND. *TR
WE WERE SITTING IN TRAFFIC AND WERE REAR-ENDED AT MILEAGE SPEED AND CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT OPEN. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION WEST ON EISENHOWER BLVD AT ABOUT 25 MPH. I PROCEEDED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION OF EISENHOWER AND CLEVELAND AVE WHEN A PICK-UP TRUCK RAN A RED LIGHT AND COLLIDED WITH THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER, RIGHT FRONT FENDER AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, COMPLETELY DISLODGING THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND BUCKLING THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. I SUSTAINED INJURIES, INCLUDING A BRUISED STERNUM AND BRUISED LUNGS. NEITHER FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYED, WHICH WOULD HAVE MITIGATED MY INJURIES!
I HAD JUST PICKED UP MY SON FROM HIS SCHOOL AND MADE A LEFT TURN AT THE STOP SIGN TO GO TO THE MAIN ROAD TO PICK MY DAUGHTER FROM HER SCHOOL WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED IN MY TRUCK. THE RED WAS AHEAD,CARS WERE LINED,KIDS WERE CROSSING THE ROAD,AND I HAD TO SOMETHING REALLY FAST. I DROVE IN TO A DRIVEWAY IN MY RIGHT WHICH WAS A PARKING FOR A HOSPITAL. I KEPT TRYING TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE CAR,BUT THE WOULDN'T STOP. IT WENT OVER THE CURB AND HIT A TREE. I CALLED THE POLICE, THEN MY INSURANCE,CAR WAS TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP. THE FORD STORE DID THE DIAGNOSTICS ON THE BRAKE AND TOLD MY INSURANCE COMPANY THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED.MY INSURANCE COMPANY GOT THE WORK STARTED FOR THE BODY DAMAGE. I CALLED THE FORD STORE SEVERAL TIMES ASKING FOR A COPY OF THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THE PERSON IN CHARGE WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALL OR GIVE ME A COPY.THREE WEEKS LATER WHEN BODY STARTED THEY SENT A REPORT TO THE BODY SHOP THAT THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT, WAS UNDETERMINED SENT THIS REPORT AFTER HE SPOKE TO THE OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL OF FORD. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT 3:15 ON SEPT.17TH AND MY CAR WENT THROUGH A 60,000 MILE CHECK UP ON SEPT.16TH. AT THE FORD STORE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 55-60 MPH, A TRACTOR TRAILER MERGED OVER AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A TREE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED FACIAL INJURIES AND THREE OTHER PASSENGERS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. ONE OCCUPANT SUFFERED MAJOR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WAS ADDITIONAL PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE HIGHWAY MEDIAN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ALL OF THE PASSENGERS WERE WEARING SEAT BELTS AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE AIR BAGS PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY IS REVIEWING THE DAMAGE AND SENDING A RECONSTRUCTIONIST TO INVESTIGATE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 85,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING ON A WET ROAD AT 45 MPH, THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIDE. THE CONTACT WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND SPUN OUT OF CONTROL ACROSS FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC. THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CEMENT BARRACADE. A VEHICLE THAT WAS ENTERING THE HIGHWAY CRASHED INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE AMBULANCE AND POLICE ARRIVED AND TRANSPORTED THE CONTACT TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, THE CONTACT HAS BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AT SPEAKING WITH THEM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

DT: THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND RENTED A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HYDROPLANE , CAUSING IT TO HIT A TREE. AS THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED IT TURNED SIDEWAYS AWAY FROM THE SHOULDER AND HIT A TREE FROM THE SIDE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FRONT AND THE SIDE AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW WHAT TYPES OF AIR BAGS ARE IN THIS VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE RENTAL CAR AGENCY, BUT HAS NOT INFORMED THEM THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER.*AK
I WAS TRAVELING AT 50MPH IN MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION (3,700 MILES) WHEN A CHEVY CAVALIER RAN A STOP SIGN. I IMPACTED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY TO HIT MY BRAKES. I WAS THE SOLE PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. IMPACT DESTROYED THE FRONT END OF MY VEHIVLE, AND PUSHED THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAVALIER TO THE DRIVERS SEAT. MY VEHICLE THEN EXITED THE ROAD THROUGH A STAND OF TREES, DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND CAME TO REST ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE EMBANKMENT. FAILURE: PASSNGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT, RESULTING IN NECK INJURIES. MAJORITY OF DAMAGE WAS TO DRIVER'S SIDE OF FRONT END. FORD HAS EXPRESSED NO INTEREST AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE AIRBAG FAILURE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT RADIATOR HAD BECOME ROTTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH, RIGHT REAR TIRE FAILED TO HOLD TOGETHER. A "THUMPING" SOUND WAS HEAD JUST PRIOR TO THE TIRE EXPLODING. DIVER MAINTAINED CONTROL AFTER HITTING THE RETAINING WALL ALONG THE FREEWAY. VEHILE IMPACTED RATAINING WALL ONCE, THEN SPUN AND INPACTED IT AGAIN TOTALING THE VEHICLE AFTER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. UPON THE ON SCENE INSPECTION, IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE TIRE SEPARATED AND LOST ALL TREAD. NO DEATHS HAPPENED AS A RESULT OF THE DRIVER NOT PANICING AND MAINTAINING WHAT CONTROL SHE WAS ABLE TO. TIRE WAS A CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC SUV. *TR
I HAVE OWNED TWO FORD EXPEDITIONS, BOTH OF WHICH WERE WRECKED WHEN IT RAINED. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE VEHICLE BECOMES VERY LOOSE IN THE REAR WHEN IT RAINS AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM THAT HAS LEAD TO ME HAVING MY ACCIDENTS. *TR

WHEN I TURNED THE ENGINE ON AND PUT CAR ON REVERSE IT SPEED OUT OF CONTROL, IMMEDIATELY TRY TO PUSH ON BRAKES BUT IT DIDN'T STOP AND I CRASHED INTO A PALM TREE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLID INTO A DITCH. THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE LIGHTS AND BUMPER WERE DAMAGED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO COME EQUIPPED WITH FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, BUT DID NOT. THE MANUFACTURER PAID TO INSTALL THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE FEATURE IN DECEMBER OF 2006. ON DECEMBER 1, 2007, THE VEHICLE SLID OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. IN JANUARY OF 2008, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY REINSTALLED THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE ON JANUARY 10, 2008 AND THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE FAILED AGAIN SEVEN DAYS LATER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 33,900 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. UPDATED 3/4/08 *CN THE DEALER HAS SINCE FIXED THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE.
I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AT CRAIG AND I-15. THIS IS KNOWN TO HAVE A GREEN LIGHT, YET THE TRAFFIC WILL SUDDENLY STOP INSTEAD OF A STEADY FLOW. I WAS DRIVING MY FORD EXPEDITION THAT I PURCHASED LESS THAN 2 WEEKS BEFORE. SUDDENLY THE TRAFFIC STOPPED, I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. I ENDED UP HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I GOT CITED FOR GOING TOO FAST FOR THE CONDITION OF THE TRAFFIC. AT THAT TIME I DID NOT NOTICE A PROBLEM WITH THE PEDALS, ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE HAVE A CONFLICT. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW TO ME, I DID NOT NOTICE THE PROBLEM UNTIL A MONTH LATER, ALTHOUGH I QUESTIONED HOW I COULD HAVE THIS COLLISION AFTER SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES AS I DID. AFTER THE VEHICLE GOT OUT OF THE SHOP, I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN AND NOTICED THE ACCELERATION INCREASING. IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED THAT I WAS PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. I AM 6'3" TALL WITH A 11 1/2 IN SHOE. MY FOOT IS LARGER THAN THE AVERAGE MAN, I BELIEVE THAT THE PEDALS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER UNTIL YOU ARE AWARE OF THIS AND MAKE A CONSCIENCE EFFORT TO SWITCH FROM ONE PEDAL TO ANOTHER. *NM

UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE AFTER THE CRASH, THE GEAR INDICATOR WAS IN THE REVERSE POSITION. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED HOWEVER, NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DEALERSHIP AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
DT: THE CAR WAS SITTING AND RUNNING FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES NEAR A BUILDING. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. THE OWNER WAS UNLOADING THE VEHICLE, AND THEN WALKED BACK INTO THE BUILDING. THE OWNER HEARD A BOOM, AND CAME OUTSIDE AND SAW THAT THE CAR HIT A FAN, AND ALMOST HIT THE BARN. THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE WHEN THE OWNER GOT BACK INTO THE CAR. THE OWNER PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED, AND WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE INCIDENT. THE OWNER HAS NOT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE HAD MINIMAL DAMAGE. THERE WAS PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE FAN.THE OWNER NOTED THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND THE VEHICLE. *AK
