It was a fateful day on June 16th, 2020 when our lives took an unexpected turn. Engaged in a peaceful drive, cruising at a steady 60mph with the assistance of the trusty cruise control, we were abruptly jolted towards the left, instantly relinquishing any grasp of control we had over our vehicle causing us to loose control and wreck our car in a corn field. LOSS OF STEERING AT 55 MPH ON TWO LANE HIGHWAY. CROSSED CENTER LINE AND HIT BY ONCOMING TRUCK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY VEERED TO THE LEFT OVER THE DOUBLE LINES WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO AN ONCOMING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE IS SHUDDERING, STALLING, AND REFUSING TO ACCELERATE UNDER POWER
AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY OR EXPLODED SENDING YELLOW GAS INTO THE AIR ON IMPACT OF WRECK AS [XXX] WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSE OF VEHICLE [XXX] HOSPITALIZED. THE VICTIM OF THE FATALITY WAS DRIVING NORTHWEST ON RTE 84 AT 1:58 PM ON 9/26/14 WHEN SHE HIT THE MEDIUM STRIP AT THE CORNER OF DODGE RD IN HAMPTON FALLS, N.H.. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD A BLOW OUT AND SHE THEN HAD A ROLL OVER ACCIDENT. SHE WENT THROUGH THE GUARD RAIL AND INTO A DEEP DITCH. THE EYE WITNESS CALLED 911 AND ASSISTED THE DRIVER WHO HAD NO SIGNS OF LIFE AT THE SCENE. WHEN THE VOLUNTEER HAMPTON FALLS SQUAD ARRIVED AT THE SCENE, THE ACLS UNIT WAS CALLED OFF. WHEN GOING ABOUT 55 MPH MY CAR STARTS TO GET VERY LOUD, NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WRONG IT'S AS IF THERE'S A LEAF BLOWER INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AS I SLOW DOWN, USE THE BRAKES, THE SOUND SLOWLY GETS MORE QUIET.
The vehicle was being towed by a Class A RV using a manufacturer approved towing system. All connections and safety measures were properly installed and tested just prior to incident. Vehicle has been towed using the same equipment for several years with no incident. The attachment from the frame to the front-end assembly completely separated and the vehicle body went into oncoming traffic. The vehicle in oncoming lane was struck and one individual injured. Upon visual examination, the frame component appears to have failed on both sides at the front-end. The bolts are still in-tack, tight and uncompromised. This is a frame component failure.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed but the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. The failure caused the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle. The contact sustained back injuries and scratches from the seat belt; however, medical attention was not yet received. A police report was filed. The contact then parked the vehicle in a parking lot, where it remained. The vehicle was not deemed totaled by the insurance company due to a lapse in insurance coverage. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the vehicle lost motive power with the ABS, TPMS, and brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure, and the ABS, TPMS, and brake sensors were faulty, causing the battery to drain rapidly. The dealer replaced the transmission and the sensors for the ABS, TPMS, and brakes; however, the failure recurred. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.
Was in frontal/near frontal collision at 20-25mph. No airbags deployed.
No warning lights intermittent brake loss called Ford told them what was going on and immediately told me hydraulic control unit the valves may stick open for short period of times then return to normal.but would have to take a look. had brakes replaced and bled ford has had this exact issue with other ford models having the hydraulic control unit a recall was issued for the others. But not all of their cars it lead to a crash by not being able to get stopped doing 40mph in a 40 mph zone issue happened year and half ago went had brakes checked out and re-bled the brakes almost lead to another crash then brakes are normal then no pedal at all

As a result, the contact crashed into the vehicle in front. No airbags deployed. The contact sustained a fractured right ankle. A police report was filed. Medical attention was required where the contact was taken to the hospital for treatment. The vehicle was towed by the police to a lot where it was awaiting an investigation from the contacts insurance company. The dealer informed the contact that no recalls were under the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 112,000
MY TWO SONS WERE TURNING LEFT WHEN THEY WERE T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY SONS VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE RIGHT REAR. THE SIDE AIR BAGS WENT OFF BUT NOT THE TWO FRONTS. ALSO THEIR SEAT BELTS DID NOT TIGHTEN. BC OF THIS BOTH SONS SUFFERED TBI'S, ONE VERY SEVERE AND IS STILL RECOVERING. THE OTHER REQUIRED BRAIN SURGERY. I AM SO UPSET THAT THEIR SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. I BOUGHT A NEWER FORD THINKING IT WAS GOING TO BE SAFE. PLEASE SOMEONE FIX THIS DEFECT. I HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS COULD EVER HAPPEN. THEY WERE HIT FROM THE OTHER PERSON GOING 45 MPH SO IT SHOULD HAVE TIGHTENED. SAD MOMMA. I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND MY CAR SLIDE ACROSS A HIGHWAY, HIT A MEDIAN, AND CAME TO A STOP HITTING A TREE HEAD ON. IT DEMOLISHED THE DRIVERS SIDE AND NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I UNHOOKED MY SEAT BELT AND MERELY LEANED AGAINST THE DOOR. TO MY SURPRISE, IT OPENED BY ITSELF AND I FELL OUT. CONSEQUENTLY I WAS LAYING IN THE SNOW AND MUD FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE A GOOD SAMARITAN PULLED ME OUT OF THE MUD. I SUBMITTED MY CAR TO A FORD DEALER/BODYSHOP TO CORRECT ANY RECALLS LAST YEAR, AND I HAVE PROOF THAT THIS WASN'T DONE PROPERLY. NOW I HAVE I HURT DISK IN MY BACK AS WELL AS LITTLE MOBILITY IN MY LEFT LEG.*DT*JB
THREE WEEKS AFTER BUYING MY BRAND NEW 2012 FORD FOCUS, THE CAR BEGAN TO HESITATE ON THE HIGHWAY. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS A FORD PROBLEM AND NOT THEIRS. THE FOLLOWING MONTH, I ALMOST DIED IN THE CAR. A REGIONAL MANAGER FROM FORD CAME TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SPEAK WITH ME, RESOLVED NOTHING. I FOLLOWED LEMON LAW PROTOCOL AND DOCUMENTED EVERYTHING THROUGH THE SERVICE DEPT. MORE THAN 12 VISITS. FOUR VISITS BEFORE THE NEAR FATAL CRASH AND THE REMAINDER AFTERWARDS. FORD RAN OUT THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS ON MY VEHICLE SO THEY DID NOT HAVE TO PAY ME. THE VEHICLE HAS A PROPENSITY OF TURNING OFF WHEN ACCELERATING TO 65 MPH. WHEN MAKING A TURN OR U-TURN THE CAR HESITATES. FORD ADMITTED TO MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND STILL WOULD NOT PUT ME IN MY ORIGINAL POSITION WHICH HAS LEFT ME WITH DISC DISPLACEMENTS BENEATH MY BRAIN STEM. I HAVE CHRONIC NECK PAIN EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE. I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AND HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO TURN. A WHITE UTILITY VAN FLEW OUT OF THE LANE TO TRY TO BEAT THE LIGHT AS I WAS TURNING. THE CAR TURNED OFF AND I HAD TO BRACE FOR IMPACT. THE CAR WOULD NOT START. TWO ADDITIONAL MALFUNCTIONS CAUSED THE CAR TO VEER LEFT AND CRASH INTO CURBS. LAST WEEK, I HAD TO MAKE A U-TURN. I HAD PLENTY OF TIME. WHILE TURNING, THE CAR HESITATED, AND THE CAR WAS STOPPING, THE WAY IT DID IN 2012. I WAS ALMOST KILLED BY AN 18-WHEELER WHO THOUGHT I WAS INITIATING ROAD RAGE. HE THEN FOLLOWED ME AND RAN ME OFF THE ROAD COMING ONE INCH TO THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I TRIED TO TAKE PICTURES, BUT MY HAND WAS TREMBLING. FORD NEEDS TO REPLACE MY VEHICLE AT THE REPLACEMENT VALUE FROM JULY OF 2012 AND OBEY THE VA LEMON LAW STATUTE. FORD OFFERED ME A BUY OUT OF $8,000 IN DECEMBER 2018. I HAD TO LAY OUT $14,000 FOR A NEW VEHICLE. THEY SHOULD HAVE CREDITED ALL OF MY CAR PAYMENTS $17K, AND PROVIDED A SETTLEMENT FOR PERMANENT SPINE AND NECK INJURIES. ACCOUNTABILITY IS DEMANDED.

THE VEHICLE DROVE INTO AN EMBANKMENT, CRASHED INTO A LIGHT POLE, AND FLIPPED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER SUSTAINED HEAD AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. POLICE REPORT NUMBER: 85507869 WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS21646310. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I WAS GOING 60 MPH ON A FREEWAY IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO HYDROPLANE ACROSS 5 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND I HIT THE CENTER CONCRETE BARRIER HEAD ON AND THEN THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT CAUSED MY CAR TO SPIN AROUND AND THEN THE REAR OF THE CAR HIT THE BARRIER HEAD ON. NOT A SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. NOT EVEN THE ONE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I THINK THERE'S SOMETHING FAULTY WITH THEM BUT NO ONE WILL TAKE A LOOK AT IT FOR ME.
MY VEHICLE HAS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE. THE MOST RECENT OF WHICH OCCURRED WITH MY 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR; I WAS ENTERING A TURN WHEN THE DISPLAY ALARM SOUNDED WITH THE FAILURE CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL AND DRIVE OFF THE ROAD. FORD COMPANY IS REFUSING TO HONOR MY WARRANTY CLAIMING THE PART IS NOT COVERED (A STEERING SENSOR), THOUGH THE STEERING COLUMN ITSELF IS COVERED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THE COLUMN CANNOT BE REPLACED WITHOUT ALSO REPLACING THE SENSOR AND THE SENSOR CANNOT BE REPLACED WITHOUT ALSO REPLACING THE COLUMN. IT SEEMS THEY HAVE FOUND A LOOPHOLE WITH WHAT IS KNOWN TO BE A DANGEROUS HAZARD TO THEIR VEHICLE. IN POINT OF FACT THE NEW YORK TIMES HAS EVEN WRITTEN AN ARTICLE IN 2015 DOCUMENTING POWER STEERING FAILURE AND THE INJURIES THAT HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO IT.
MY SON WAS STOPPED BEHIND ANOTHER STOPPED CAR ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY, AS A CAR 2 IN FRONT OF HIM WAS PREPARING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE PERSON TRAVELING BEHIND MY SON, WAS LOOKING INTO HIS REARVIEW MIRROR AT HIS CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT AND FAILED TO STOP. INSTEAD, AT FULL SPEED (45-55MPH) HE REARENDED MY SON IN THE FORD FOCUS THEREBY PUSHING HIM INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM. NO AIR BAG DEPLOYED, AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO LOCK CAUSING MY SON TO PLANT HIS FACE IN THE STEERING WHEEL.
