THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT WOULD CONTACT HIM WITHIN TWO DAYS. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2002 JEEP LIBERTY IN MARCH, 2002. AT 8K, WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, REAR END BEGAN FISHTAILING CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURED ON DEC. 16TH, 2002. WE STILL DO NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM JEEP INSPECTED VEHICLE AND STATED THAT "REAR AXLE WAS NEVER PROPERLY WELDED TO VEHICLE." THIS OCCURED ON THE ASSEMBLY LINE AT THE FACTORY. WE DO NOT FEEL VEHICLE IS SAFE AT THIS POINT.THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY IS SERIOUS COMPROMISED. WE'RE CONCERNED OTHER 2002 JEEP LIBERTY'S MAY HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND I DON'T REALLY REMEMBER THE MOMENT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT BUT I LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND HIT THE MEDIAN BARRICADE HEAD ON AND FROM THERE MY CAR KEPT GOING ACROSS THE HIGHWAY OFF TO THE GRASS AREA. MY CAR IS RUINED AND I FACED A BROKEN NOSE, BACK, KNEE, KNOCK, HEAD, AND SHOULDER BRUSHING AND PAIN, AND NOW I KEEP HAVING A SHORT TERM MEMORY ON SOME OCCASIONS. I ALSO GET NAUSEATED WHEN K GET IN A VEHICLE AND GET TERRIFIED WHEN I'M WITH SOMEONE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. I HAVE NO VEHICLE AT THE TIME, IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO AND A HALF MONTHS AND I HAVEN'T HAD ANY HELP WITH ANYTHING. I AM A FULL TIME COLLEGE STUDENT WORKING A PART TIME JOB, MY SISTER OR BOYFRIEND HAVE TO TAKE ME TO WORK AND SCHOOL, IT'S GETTING PRETTY TIRING FOR THEM TO TAKE ME EVERYWHERE. I WORK ABOUT 15 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOME AND IT'S DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO TAKE ME WHEN THEY HAVE SCHOOL AND WORK ON THOSE DAYS. THE AIR BAGS IN MY JEEP DID NOT DEPLOY, IT WENT IN FOR THE RECALL AND YOU CAN LITERALLY SEE THE SENSORS, THE CLEARLY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. MY JEEP HAD NO ENGINE OR AIR BAG CODES OF ANY KIND.. WE HAD THE M35 RECALL DONE AT SOUTH POINT CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN TULSA OK ON APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 2, 2014. ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2014 MY DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN A HIGHWAY INTERSECTION ACCIDENT WHERE HER CAR SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE SO BAD IT WAS TOTALED. SHE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10MPH AND THE OTHER CAR WAS GOING 65MPH. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHEN THE COLLISION HAPPENED. THE OTHER CARS AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THAT CAR WAS TOTALED ALSO. I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES OF MY DAUGHTERS CAR IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE COLLISION. THE POLICE, FIRE DEPARTMENT AND OKLAHOMA HIGHWAY PATROL ALL WERE SURPRISED HER AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. SUBSEQUENTLY SHE HAS SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND IS HAVING TO HAVE SEVERAL MRIS AND CT SCANS DUE TO THE CAR ACCIDENT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY HER AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT IMPACT.
