THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILS FROM WINTER TO SUMMER CAUSING MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION TO THE COMPUTER, THE AUTO CAN OVERHEAT, IT CAN ALSO CLEAR DOWN AND OPEN FAILURE OF GASOLINE. THE BALL JOINTS FAIL TRULY. IT HAPPENED TO ME IN THREE OCCASIONS WHEN I CIRCULATED BY THE CITY WHEN CROSSING ON A STREET, WHILE PASSING A TUMBLE, AND ON A TERRACE STREET. THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM BREAKS CAUSING BRAKE LIQUID LEAKS THIS IS CAUSED BY THE WARMING OF PARTS AND DIRT. I SAW THE STAIN IN THE SOIL WHEN I PARK IN MY GARAGE AND CHECK.
MY 2005 JEEP LIBERTY WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT WITH 4 FATALITIES ON 9 JUNE 07. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED. THE DRIVER AND ONE PASSENGER SURVIVED THE ACCIDENT WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES. THE FOUR PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE LIBERTY WERE NOT WEARING SEAT BELTS AND WERE EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE DURING THE ROLLOVER EVENT. THE DRIVER FELT THAT SHE HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING JUST PRIOR TO THE ROLLOVER OF THE VEHICLE. THE INCIDENT IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. *TR THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE WAS A NAIL IN THE TIRE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED LOW TIRE PRESSURE, CONTRIBUTING TO THE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHICH MAY HAVE RESULTED IN FAILURE OF THE UPPER BALL JOINTS. A RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THE LOWER BALL JOINTS IN MAY 2007. UPDATED
UNDER SNOWY CONDITIONS VEHICLE SLID OFF HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH AND STRUCK TREE. AIRBAG PARTIALLY DEPLOYED AND CAUGHT FIRE. SUSTAINED 2ND AND 3RD DEGREE BURNS. TAKEN BY AMBULANCE FROM SCENE. *JB
WHILE TRYING TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION AT 30MPH STEERING AND BREAK PEDAL GOT HARD CAUSING ROLLOVER WHERE THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY NOT DID THE SEATBELT RESTRAIN
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UNPON FRONT IMPACT. WE WAS DRIVING AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE
VEHICLE SPUN OUT ON SNOWY ROAD AND SLID OFF THE ROAD AT A ~120 ANGLE TO DIRECTION OF TRAVEL (LEFT ROAD FACING RIGHT AND BACKWARDS) AT AROUND 45MPH. STRUCK A SIGNPOST IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR, THEN ROLLED OVER ONCE DOWN A ~30 EMBANKMENT TO LAND BACK ON WHEELS. SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUFFERED FRACTURED CLAVICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE CONTACT'S EX-SPOUSE WAS DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE. THE VEHICLE SWERVED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT ACROSS THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, VEERED OFF THE ROAD, AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE CHEST CAUSED BY THE SEAT BELT. THE DRIVER DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE LOWER A-ARM ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSPENSION WAS FRACTURED, INCLUDING THE LOWER SHOCK TOWER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE RECALL PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,480.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO THE DRIVEWAY, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TURNED 360 DEGREES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CHEST INJURY, AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED AN EYE AND TOOTH INJURY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ACCIDENT ON 12-8-2015. WAS HIT IN FRONT END. I WAS STATIONARY AND CAR TRAVELLING ABOUT 35 MPH HIT ME ON RIGHT FRONT END. AIR BAG DEPLOYED BUT THE SEAT BELT DIDN'T HOLD AT ALL. THE BELT WAS ON AND LOCKED, BUT THE RETRACT MECHANISM DID NOT LOCK OR PRETENSION AT ALL. MY BODY FLEW FORWARD AND HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING HEAD INJURY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL BEGAN TO LEAK OUT AFTER THE VEHICLE LANDED UPSIDE DOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE MINOR INJURIES TO THE CONTACT'S FOOT AND ARM THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO A MAJOR ROUTE AT 30 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE TAKES OFF ON IT'S OWN AND BEGINS TO SWERVE PICKING UP SPEED WHILE BOTH MY FEET ARE OFF OF THE PEDALS. IT HITS ONE CONCRETE WALL ON A BRIDGE AND PROCEEDS TO CROSS YELLOW LINE PICKING UP MORE SPEED BEFORE SMASHING STRAIGHT INTO OTHER CONCRETE WALL. IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THIS VEHICLE FROM CONTINUING ON. AIR BAGS WENT OFF AND SPLIT EXPELLING STRANGE ODOR. A JEEP DEALER COMMENTED THAT EITHER A SENSOR WENT OR ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD STUCK. I COULD NOT STRAIGHTEN THE VEHICLE OUT BY STEERING AT ALL.
A CAR GOT HIT BY A SEMI AND SPUN AROUND ON THE INTERSTATE AND HEADING STRAIGHT TOWARD ME, I STOPPED BUT STILL GOT HIT IN THE FRONT END ON THE DRIVERS SIDE (AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY) THEN I WAS HIT BY A SEMI ON THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE. HAD SIT BELT ON BUT STILL GOT JERKED AROUND AND INJURED MY NECK & BACK, MY RIGHT ARM HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUSTAINED AN INJURY AS WELL (STILL GOING TO DOCTOR FOR ARM AND CHIROPRACTOR FOR NECK AND BACK). LOCATION WAS EAST BOUND SERVICE ROAD AT GREATSOUTH WEST HWY AND INTERSTATE 20 GRAND PRAIRIE TEXAS, ON AUGUST 17, 2014, AT APPROXIMATELY 2:00PM. SHE WAS ATTEMPTING TO ENTER ONTO I-20 AND DUE TO THE RAIN LOST CONTROL AND CAUSING HER TO TRAVEL OFF THE ROAD AND STRIKE INTO A COVERT DRAIN( DUE TO HYDRO PLAINING.AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY) . LOCATION WAS EAST BOUND SERVICE ROAD AT GREAT SOUTH WEST HWY AND INTERSTATE 20 GRAND PRAIRIE TEXAS, SHE WAS TAKE BY AMBULANCE (GRAND PRAIRIE FIRE AND RESCUE) TO MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL AT 3301 MEDLOCK ARLINGTON, TEXAS. SHE RECEIVED X-RAYS, CAT SCAN, AND SUTURES IN THE FACIAL AREA DISCHARGED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED FROM THE SCENE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN A BUSY HIGHWAY THE STEERING BECOMES HEAVY AND SOME FLUID SPLASHED ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND SUDDENLY LOST STEERING AND GEARING .I FORCED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER AND STEPPED OUT OF IT TO CHECK WHAT WENT WRONG. THERE WAS NO LIGHT INDICATOR OR OVERHEATING. AS SOON AS I STEPPED OUT OF THE CAR IT STARTS ROLLING BACKWARD, SO IT LOST BRAKING AS WELL..I WAS PANICKING AND PICTURING HOW MANY ACCIDENTS AND TOLL DEATH WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE SCENE. ONE MOVING CAR HAD COLLIDED WITH MY VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS ROLLING BACKWARD AND TWO PEOPLE GOT INJURED. THE POLICE HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND MY JEEP GOT TOWED AS IT IS NOT DRIVABLE. I HAVE CONTACT CHRYSLER AND THEY RETURN MY CALL AND PROMISE TO SEND THEIR ENGINEER TO INVESTIGATE AND FIND OUT WHAT WENT WRONG WITHOUT WARRING AND IT COULD HAVE CAUSED A TOTAL DISASTER ON 95 NORTH . *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE HER VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE , STRUCTURE) BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT FELT THAT SINCE THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED IN JUNE OF 2013, THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REMEDY AVAILABLE BEFORE MARCH OF 2014. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE TIME FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE HOWEVER STATED THAT SHE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE HER VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF BACK, HEAD, AND NECK INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FUEL TANK COULD POSSIBLY CATCH ON A FIRE IF INVOLVED IN ANOTHER REAR-END CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 5/13/14*CN
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WITH A LIGHT POLE AND SMALL TREE. DRIVER WAS FORCED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID A HEAD ON CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. TWO OF THE FRONT BUMPER SENSORS WERE HIT, BUT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVE HIT THE STEERING COLUMN THAT HAD BROKEN OFF WITH HER STERNUM, AND THE PASSENGER HIT THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WAS A QUESTION INVOLVING THE SEAT BELTS NOT HOLDING EITHER OF THE INDIVIDUALS IN PLACE. THE 2005 JEEP HAD SEVERAL RECALLS, AND MANY SHOP BULLETINS OF PART FAILURES ON FILE THOUGH THIS ONE WAS CHECKED BY THE DEALER AND CERTIFIED AS OK...UPDATED 09-18-13 *BF UPDATED *JB

THIS EVENING, I HAD A COLLISION WITH A CAR THAT WAS ATTEMPTING TO CROSS THE HIGHWAY, BUT PULLED OUT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES, BUT T-BONED THE OTHER VEHICLE. I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. HER VEHICLE SUSTAINED MOST OF THE DAMAGE, AND I WAS ACTUALLY VERY IMPRESSED THAT MY LIBERTY DID NOT SUSTAIN AS MUCH DAMAGE AS I HAD EXPECTED. I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT, BUT TO MY SURPRISE, MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. MY CHEST HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY DESPITE HITTING A VEHICLE THAT WAS ESSENTIALLY NOT EVEN MOVING. I LOVE MY JEEP, BUT HOW DO I KNOW THAT MY AIR BAG EVEN WORKS? LUCKILY I MADE IT THROUGH THIS ACCIDENT WITHOUT SEVERE INJURIES, BUT MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY NEXT TIME. *TR
