The contact lost control, the vehicle was spinning, struck two utility poles where the vehicle came to a stop. The driver was declared deceased on the scene. The front passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical attention. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

TL*-THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS DAUGHTER WAS IN A CRASH WITH HER 2003 JEEP LIBERTY ON 01/27/07. THE AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY. HE STATED THAT EARLY THAT MORNING, ON A CLEAR DAY SHE CRASHED THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN HER DEATH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FROM THE PICTURES OF THE CRASH, THE WHEELS OF THE DRIVER SIDE LOOKED UNUSUAL. THE VEHICLE WAS ON RECALL, BUT HE WAS NOT SURE IF THE RECALL HAD BEEN REPAIRED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR THE INVESTIGATION TO BE COMPLETED. HE FELT THAT THE CRASH WAS DUE TO A FAILURE IN THE LOWER BALL JOINTS. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE HIS DAUGHTER CONSTANTLY COMPLAINED THAT THE TIRES AND BRAKES WERE FUNCTIONING INCORRECTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS DAUGHTER CONSTANTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP COMPLAINED ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT DO ANY REPAIRS WITHOUT THE CONTACT PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2003 JEEP LIBERTY IN TRAFFIC APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT. SHE BUMPED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER TRAVELING AT ABOUT 10 MPH. IT WAS SUCH A MINOR BUMP THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT SHE BARELY HAD ENOUGH TIME TO ESCAPE. THE CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS AND THE CAR IS COMPLETELY BURNT OUT INSIDE. *NM

The air bags didn't deploy at all. I slide on an icy bridge at 35 mph and slammed into the concrete bridge barrier. None of the airbags deployed. The Jeep was put on a scope 2 1/2 weeks before the accident with no codes read. I have severe whip lash and muscle strains in my back, neck, shoulders, and arms from the impact. I could have died. No, the problem wasn't reproduced or confirmed. The police have looked at and insurance company will be looking at the vehicle. There were no warnings at any kind prior to the failure.

HELLO, OUR JEEP OFTEN OR ALWAYS HAD THE AIRBAG LIGHT WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS WAS A CONCERN OF OURS, AND WE HAD HEARD AWHILE BACK THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON JEEP LIBERTYS AIRBAG. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TAKE IT IN FOR THE RECALL FIX, THE COMPANY WANTED AN AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE COULDN'T AFFORD. RECENTLY MY MOM WAS IN A CAR WRECK, DESTROYING THE VEHICLES ENTIRE FRONT AND MAKING IT UNUSABLE. SHE TOLD ME SHE ONLY RECEIVED BURNS AND THAT SHE PROBABLY WOULDV'E BEEN OK IF THE DAMAGED AIRBAGS WERE FIXED. SHE MENTIONED TO ME SHE RECEIVED BURNS ON HER ARMS THAT WERE THE FAULT OF THE BAD AIRBAGS THAT WERENT ANY GOOD. SHE WOULD BE WILLING TO EXPLAIN THIS BETTER THAN I CAN SINCE I ONLY KNOW THAT MUCH. HER HAND THIS MORNING IS NOW SWOLLEN FROM THE INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN A HEAD ON CAR COLLISION WITH ANOTHER PERSON SET TO ENTER THE FREEWAY ON A CITY STREET
