TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE DRIVER SUFFERED A HEART ATTACK AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO FLAMES. THE POLICE, AMBULANCE, AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND REPORTS WERE FILED. THE DRIVER WAS FATALLY INJURED IN THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY REPORT. THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL CRASH IN WHICH A PASSENGER WAS KILLED. BASED UPON A CRASH RECONSTRUCTION ANALYSIS, THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING IN EXCESS OF 100 MPH WHEN THE DRIVER LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AND STRUCK THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. ALTHOUGH NO CURRENT RECALLS EXIST FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL ISSUES, WE ARE INTERESTED IN HAVING IT INVESTIGATED IN LIGHT OF THE RECENT TOYOTA RECALLS WITH OTHER MODEL YEARS. THE UNUSUALLY HIGH SPEED OF THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT APPEAR CONSISTENT WITH THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE IS AVAILABLE FOR EXAMINATION IF NEEDED. *TR UPDATED 9/29/11*CW
MY SON IN LAW DIED IN THIS CAR IT WAS SAID THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT INFLATE, AND THEY THINK THAT THE TROLLER WAS STUCK. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE STRUCK THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND HEAD THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
THIS IS NOT A TAKAMA RECALL COMPLAIN. IT IS REGARDING MY CAR THAT HAS BEEN ID' THAT IT IS 2000 YEAR MAKE CAR, THE LOCAL DMV DID MADE AN INSPECTION AND CONCLUSION WAS THAT IS IT 2000 - DUE TO SOME STICKERS EVERYWHERE - ON THE DOOR, ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR AND OTHER PLACES.
MY VEHICLE WAS TURNING LEFT ON A CITY STREET. ITS RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL WAS STRUCK BY A VEHICLE IN THE INTERSECTION. THAT IMPACT SPUN THE VEHICLE AROUND WHERE IT WAS ONCE AGAIN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. SO, BY THE TIME IT WAS OVER, THE PASSENGER-SIDE QUARTER PANEL, PASSENGER-SIDE DOOR, AND THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE FRONT-SEAT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES.
MY CAR WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE, BY A DRIVER THAT WENT INTO OUR LANE, RUNNING MY CAR OFF THE ROAD, WHICH CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO GO UP OVER CURB AND HEAD ON INTO A BRICK WALL. THE AIRBAG NEVER DEPLOYED FROM THE IMPACT OF BEING HIT AND CRASHING STRAIGHT INTO A BRICK WALL. I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT I NEED TO REPORT THIS AND FIND OUT IF THE AIRBAG IS FAULTY. MY CAR IS REPORTED TOTALED BY INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAVE PICTURES FROM THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT TO SHOW HOW THE CAR WENT INTO THE BRICK WALL AND NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. *TR
I WAS HIT BY A SPEEDING DRIVER IN CROSS TRAFFIC. (A LOT OF PEOPLE A RUNNING THROUGH RED LIGHTS!) THE FRONT BUMPER AND GRILL AREA WAS BADLY DAMAGED, RIGHT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY WAS TORN OFF AND HOOD WAS BUCKLED. MY SEAT BELT DID NOT STOP ME FROM BEING THROWN FORWARD AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING MY HEAD TO HIT THE WINDSHIELD, BREAKING THE GLASS. I RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR MY HEAD INJURY. TWO SAFETY SYSTEMS THAT FAILED. MY CAR HAS BEEN "TOTALED" BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *JS

WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE VERY SLOWLY, LOOKING BOTH DIRECTIONS, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND FLEW ACROSS A BUSY STREET INTO A STORE FRONT. THREE PERSONS WERE SLIGHTLY INJURED AND THE CAR WAS CONSIDERED TOTALED AS WELL AS THE MAIN FRONT WINDOW OF THE STORE. *TR
MY CAR (VEHICLE 1) WAS STOPPED AT RED LIGHT WHEN VEHICLE 2 FAILED TO SLOW AND STRUCK THE REAR OF VEHICLE 1 AT 45 MPH. MY DRIVERS SEAT BACK FAILED AND THE SEAT EXTENDED BACK UNTIL IT STOPPED ON TOP OF THE REAR SEAT. THE SEAT FAILURE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY TO MY NECK AND SPINE WITH VERTEBRAE COMPRESSION AND POSSIBLE FRACTURE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A CEMENT PILLAR AND WAS THROWN TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE BEFORE CRASHING INTO A SECOND CEMENT PILLAR. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND WHIPLASH. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION DUE TO HIS HEAD STRIKING THE WINDSHIELD. IN ADDITION, HE SUSTAINED BRUISES AND CUTS TO THE HEAD FROM THE BROKEN GLASS. THE POLICE REPORTED TO THE SCENE BUT A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
UPON IMPACT INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE, WHICH WAS AT A FULL STOP, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY CAUSING INJURIES TO MY WIFE, WHO WAS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

2001 TOYOTA CAMRY WENT OUT OF CONTROL WHEN OUR SON WAS DRIVING ON A RAMP AND ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND THE CAR WAS UPSIDE DOWN TRAPPING OUR SON IN THE CAR UPSIDE DOWN. HE HAD TO BREAK THE SIDE WINDOW TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. IT IS COMPLETELY TOTAL DAMAGE AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY COMPENSATED FOR THE VALUE OF THE CAR. HE WAS SAVED MIRACULOUSLY WITH MINOR CUTS AND BRUISES. POLICEMAN GAVE HIM TICKET AFTER HE GOT OUT OF THE CAR. IT WAS NIGHT AND COLD. *TR

REPORT NUMBER 1001104565 WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WERE NOT ABLE TO EXPLAIN AT WHAT SPEED THE AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY AND THE OTHER DRIVERS RIGHT KNEE WAS INJURED. THE SAN ANTONIO POLICE REPORT NUMBER IS 0000326. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 125,000.
