DT: WHILE THE CONTACT'S MOTHER WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. IT FELT AS THOUGH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE RAN INTO A HOUSE AND WENT THROUGH IT. WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. A POLICE REPORT TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD, AND FOUND THE THROTTLE WAS STUCK ALL THE WAY FORWARD. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TO ANY MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS. *AK

THE FOLLOWING NOTE WAS SENT TO CHEVY PRODUCT SUPPORT THROUGH THEIR WEB SITE. THE VEHICLE IS A 1993 BLAZER, VIN [XXX] - I RECENTLY HAD THE ELECTRONIC EMISSION CONTROL VALVE (EGR(?) FAIL IN THE OPEN POSITION, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. I WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. FORTUNATELY, I WASN'T IN TRAFFIC AND COULD SAFELY HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE VALVE. IS THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART COVERED BY A WARRANTY OR OUT OF WARRANTY SPECIAL SERVICE ARRANGEMENT? HAVE THE SAFETY ISSUES BEEN ADDRESSED BY A REDESIGN OF THE VALVE OR EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THIS VEHICLE?
