AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ROLLED FOUR TIMES AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER WAS EJECTED THIRTY NINE FEET FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRAIN INJURY, LEFT ARM DAMAGE, AND WAS IN A COMA FOR THREE WEEKS. THE CHILD PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED SHOULDER, RIBS, AND A LUNG INFECTION. 1999 CHEVY BLAZER AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER WAS INJURED AND VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. CONSUMER MIGHT NOT HAVE THOSE INJURIES IF THE AIRBAGS WORKED PROPERLY. *KB
I WAS DRIVING TO PICK UP MY KIDS ON JANUARY 30, 2007 I WAS APPROACHING A 3 WAY STOP TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON THE SIDE STREET THAT RUNS ALONG MARCH AIR FORCE BASE IN MORENO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA AND ALL THE SUDDEN I COULD NOT STOP I WAS TRYING TO HOLD MY BRAKES DOWN AS HARD AS I COULD BUT THEY ARE ANTILOCK BRAKES AND I SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF A HONDA ACCORD MY CAR DIDN'T STOP THERE I HIT MY FOREHEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND I BLACKED OUT WHEN I CAME TO MY CAR WAS IDLING WANTING TO STILL GO AND SO I TRIED TO PUT IT IN PARK AND IT SCARED ME SO I TURNED MY CAR OFF I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT I ASKED THE PEOPLE I HIT TO CALL THE COPS I DIDN'T HAVE A PHONE THEY JUST WANTED TO EXCHANGE DRIVER INFO AND LEAVE I WAS UPSET I TURNED MY CAR ON AND DROVE TO THE NEAREST PHONE PUTTING IT IN NEUTRAL EVERYTIME I CAME TO A STOP MY CAR IS AUTOMATIC. MY DAD CAME AND PULLED ME HOME. MY DAD IS AN AUTOMOTIVE TECH AND HE LOOKED AT MY CAR IN THE MORNING HE CAME AND WOKE ME UP AND TOLD ME THE CAUSE OF MY GAS PEDAL GETTING STUCK WAS THAT MY THROTTLE CABLE FOR THE GAS JUST SNAPPED AND THAT GM MADE A FAULTY DESIGN FOR THE GAS CABLE IT SUCKED AND CAUSED MY CABLE TO SLICE AND SNAP I COULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE ACCIDENT..IM SHOCKED THAT I COULD HAVE DIED.!! THE NIGHT THAT THIS HAPPENED I WAS SO UPSET THAT I CRIED MYSELF TO SLEEP AND IM 28 YEARS OLD SO YOU CAN SEE HOW TRAUMATIZING THIS WAS FOR ME. I ALSO FORGOT TO INCLUDE THAT ON IMPACT MY AIR BAG DID NOT EVEN OPEN TO PREVENT ME FROM SLAMMING INTO MY STEERING WHEEL IT HURT ALL THE WHOLE NEXT DAY. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE IMPACTED A TREE, HEAD ON. THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, RESULTING IN INJURIES OF THE CONTACT'S LEFT KNEE, ELBOW AND HEAD. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND PICTURES WERE TAKEN AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE JUNKYARD. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS DETERMINED BY THE INSURER TO BE TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. 08/04/06 CHEVY DRIVER HIT A CAR IN HER LANE FIRST, THEN RICOCHETED HEAD ON INTO A TREE. NEITHER TIME DID AIRBAGS DEPLOY. *TT
THE CHEVY BLAZER HAD MULTIPLE DEFECTS. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. *BF THE VEHICLE HAD AIR AND WATER LEAKS AROUND THE WINDOWS, OIL WAS BEING CONSUMED ABNORMALLY, THE SEAT BELT HAD COME LOOSE AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN WRECKED. THE CONSUMER HAD THREE ACCIDENTS IN WHICH ALL WERE FRONTAL IMPACTS. *SC
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HERS. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A GARAGE FOR INSPECTION. THE CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH,ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT CONSUMER'S VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SPIN AROUND AND SLAM INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE HEAD ON. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, NOR DID THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT LOCK. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. *AK
THE AIRBAGS NEVER WENT OFF IN A FRONT END COLLISION.
THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THIS CAUSED INJURY TO THE DRIVER CHEST. THIS SHOULD NEED TO BE FIXED ASAP BY GM. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A CHEVY AGAIN. AIRBAGS THAT DO NOT DEPLOY WHEN YOU HIT HEAD ON AND ROLL SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED. *LA
THE CONSUMER WAS REAR ENDED, AND THE SEAT BELT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DIDN'T HOLD THE PASSENGER WHO WAS THE CONSUMER'S MOTHER, IN WHICH SHE SUFFERED INJURIES TO HER NECK AND ARMS. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. THE CONSUMER STOPPED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND WAS REAR ENDED. THE CONSUMER'S MOTHER WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND HAD TO PLACE HER ARM ON THE DASH TO CATCH HERSELF AND TORE HER ROTOR CUFF. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED COMPENSATION. *SCC *JB
INVOLVED IN HEAD ON COLLISION, BOTH GOING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, NEITHER FRONT AIR BAG DEPLOYED. SEVERE FACIAL INJURIES FOR ONE AND CONCUSSION FOR PASSENGER RESULTED. *JB
FRONT PASSENGERS SEAT BELT IS FAULTY! I WAS IN A COLLISION AND REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER DRIVER. MY MOTHER WAS WITH ME AND IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. HER SEAT BELT AT THE SHOULDER DID NOT LOCK AND AS A RESULT SHE WAS THROWN FORWARD, CAUSING A TORN ROTATOR CUFF. SHE HAS DOCTORS DOCUMENTS TO BACK THIS UP. SURGERY WAS SCHEDULED WITH NO ADVAIL. WE HAD OTHER COMPLICATIONS ARISE AND THE DOCTOR CANCELED SURGERY IN THE OPERATING PREP. ROOM. WE HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO SPECIALIST AND ARE NOW AWAITING FOR THEM TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO AGAIN SCHEDULE SURGERY. IN THE MEAN TIME, THE WAVE 3 TROUBLE SHOOTER, SUGGESTED I CONTACT YOUR OFFICE. ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN BE IN THIS MATTER WOULD BE APPRECIATED. MY MOTHER REMAINS IN PAIN ON MEDICATION, AND CHEVROLET OFFICIALS WON'T HELP MY MOTHER IN ANY WAY. THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS A 1999 CHEVROLET BLAZER, 4 DOOR, 4X4. INITIALLY, ALL WE ASK CHEVROLET FOR WAS A NEW SEATBELT. HOWEVER, THROUGH THE INTERNET AND CNN NEWS, I KNOW THAT THERE HAS BEEN OTHER REPORTS FOR THIS PROBLEM. SO I FEEL THAT CHEVROLET SHOULD COMPENSATE ME FOR MY INJURIES THAT I HAVE AND WILL SUFFER PAIN FROM. *NLM
FRONT OF CAR BUMPER AND ENGINE PUSHED IN 6-8 INCHES. WENT UP HILL HIT TREE OVER TURNED 2 TIMES. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 32MPH & HAD A HEAD-ON COLLSION. CONSUMER WAS WEARING SEAT BELT RESTRAINT AT THE TIME, BUT FRONTAL AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. DEALER CLOSED THE CASE AT ONE POINT & REOPENED IT ONCE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THEM A SECOND TIME.*AK *SLC
VEHICLE IMPACTED A HORSE IN ROAD AT A SPEED OF 45 MPH. IMPACT WAS HEAD-ON. LEGS OF THE HORSE CONTACTED THE FRONT BUMPER PROPELLING THE HORSE INTO THE WINDSHIELD AND ONTO THE ROOF.THE CAR SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DENTING OF THE BUMPER THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE ROOF OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER HAD MAJOR CRUSHING INCLUDING THE DRIVER'S FRONT PILLA. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH AND GOING AROUND A CORNER WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT ON HALF OF THE PAVEMENT, AND CONSUMER LOST CONTROL. WHEN CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO GAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE, IT ROLLED OVER ABOUT THREE TO FOUR TIMES. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY, AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE BROKE OFF. CONSUMER HAD TO BREAK THREE OF THE WINDOWS TO GET OTHER CONSUMER'S OUT OF THE VEHICLE. *AK
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 50-60 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITION, WHEN VEHICLE GOT OUT OF CONTROL, ROLL OVER INTO A DITCH WHICH BOTH AIR BAGS FAIL TO DEPLOYED. MFR. NOTIFIED.
