THE TRUCK HAS ABS BRAKES. WHEN APPLYING BRAKES THEY WERE NOT OPERATING AND CAUSED A FOUR CAR COLLISION. TT CONSUMER LISTS THAT THERE WERE TWO INJURIES AND FOUR FATALITIES, NOTHING ELSE IS MENTIONED ABOUT THE INJURIES/DEATHS. DEALER REPLACED KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY, DUE TO POPPING NOISES. TRANSMISSION LEAK, DEALER REPLACED PUMP COVER. POOR GAS MILEAGE AND POOR POWER, DEALER REPLACED INJECTOR ASSEMBLY. *SLC
BRAKES MAKE NOISE ALL THE TIME, BUT DID NOT THE NIGHT OF THE ACCIDENT. CONDITIONS WERE SNOWY. *AK
ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON ICY ROAD, VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT/FATALITY. *AK
I WAS DRIVING HOME EARLY THIS MORNING, AFTER DOING A LITTLE HILL CLIMBING THE NIGHT BEFORE WITH A FRIEND. ON THE WAY HOME I WAS DRIVING UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT, WHEN THE VEHICLE ABOUT 3 SECONDS IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED, I IMMEDIATELY HIT THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK PROPERLY, CAUSING ME TO HIT THE REAR END OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES, I RECEIVED A TRAFFIC VIOLATION, AND A NECK SPRAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH THAT HE BELIEVES WAS CAUSED BY ABS FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. AS A RESULT, HE REAR-ENDED FOUR OTHER VEHICLES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND TWO OCCUPANTS WERE INJURED. THE CONTACT DESCRIBED THE VEHICLE AS A "MISSILE" WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO USE THE BRAKES. AFTER THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, HE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR AND PULSATING. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT IS CURRENTLY BEING SUED BY TWO OCCUPANTS INVOLVED IN THE CRASH REGARDING BACK INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS OVER TEN YEARS OLD; THEREFORE, NO ASSISTANCE COULD BE PROVIDED. DT: CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON JUNE 17, 2005, DUE TO BRAKES NOT WORKING. WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, USING THE BRAKES ON AND OFF, THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. CONSUMER TRIED PULLING THE PARKING BRAKE, IN CASE SHE HIT IT ACCIDENTALLY. WHEN CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES SHE COULD NOT STOP BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING. MECHANIC STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER LOCAL SERVICE STATION, AND THE MECHANIC SAID THAT SOMETIMES THE ABS MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING THE BRAKES TO NOT WORK. THE SERVICE DEALER STATED THE ABS SENSOR WAS OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAS DISCONNECTED HER ABS, AND HAD NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE THEN.*AK
CONSUMER EXPERIENCE THE SAME DEFECT WITH THEIR ABS BRAKES, WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT, AS STATED IN RECALL NUMBER 99 V 193 000, BUT VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL BY IT'S VIN NUMBER. TS BRAKES FAILED TO STOP WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL. *TT
ABS BRAKES FAILED 9 TIMES. THE LAST TIME CAUSED ME TO ROLL AND TOTAL THE VEHICLE TRYING TO TURN IN MY DRIVE. THE FIRST AND ALL FAILURES WHERE REPORTED TO CHEVROLET. CHEVROLET TOLD ME I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE THREE DEALERS REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND ABS BRAKE MODUAL. NONE OF THOSE REPAIRS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. I PRESSED SO HARD ON THE BRAKE I BROKE THE SEAT DOWN 3 TIMES. THE LAST TIME IT BROKE I LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND IT ROLED 10 FT. PAST THE DRIVE I WAS TRYING TO PULL INTO. *AK
CONSUMER GOT INTO VEHICLE AND STARTED IT UP. THEN, REALIZED THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE REMOTE CONTROL TO GARAGE DOOR. WHEN GETTING OUT OF VEHICLE IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. DOOR KNOCKED DOWN CONSUMER, AND VEHICLE RAN OVER CONSUMER'S LEG. SHE SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG. STATE FARM INSURANCE ADVISED CONSUMER TO CALL NHTSA AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE. CONSUMER WILL ALSO BE CALLING MANUFACTURER.*AK *SLC
CONSUMER WAS IN ACCIDENT WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 30-MPH. CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKES & HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AT 20MPH.BRAKES LOCKED UP & COULDN'T PRESS THE BRAKES DOWN.TO STOP. CONSUMER WAS NOT INJURED. DEALER WAS WILLING TO LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM.*AK
APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION, BRAKES WERE APPLIED WITH NO BRAKING ACTION OCCURRING. THE ANTILOCK SYSTEM MADE NOISES AS THOUGH CAR WAS ON A SLIPPERY SURFACE, BUT ROAD WAS CLEAR AND DRY WITH NO LOOSE GRAVEL. BRAKE PEDAL WAS THEN PUSHED VERY HARD, AGAIN WITH NO BRAKING ACTION. THE CAR PROCEEDED INTO THE INTERSECTION IMPACTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. BOTH DRIVERS RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. THE BLAZER WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *AK
HIT BRAKE PEDAL WHILE GOING 30 MPH ON A DRY SURFACE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING A COLLISION WITH THE VEHICL IN FRONT. *AK
ABS BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE
EA94038; WHEN DRIVING 30MPH AND APPLYING BRAKES THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR . ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS HIT AT APPROXIMATELY 15MPH. BRAKE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY TWENTY TIMES, DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE MAKING A PANIC STOP, BRAKES WERE HELD FIRM TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE, AT FIRST, SKIDDED AND THEN SEEMED TO COAST. VEHICLE DID NOT STOP BUT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, RESULTING IN INJURIES AND EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE BLAZER. *AK
VEHICLE CRASH, CAUSED BY THE BRAKES GOING OUT. APPLIED THE BRAKES AT 5-10 MPH AND THE VEHICLE TURNED LEFT AND WENT OUT OF CONTROL, THEN CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK ONE PERSON WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT. AIR CONDITIONER WAS BLOWING HOT AIR DUE TO LOOSE FITTING. POPPING NOISE IN THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS, DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEMS. BANGING NOISE IN THE RIGHT REAR OVER BUMPS, DUE TO TAILGATE BEING OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. STEERING WHEEL NOISY WHILE DRIVING. PRIOR TO INCIDENT, BRAKES WERE DRAGGING WHILE BEING APPLIED, THEY SQUEALED, PULSATED, AND PEDAL WAS LOW, DEALER REPLACED BRAKES. DRIVER SEAT MOVED FORWARD WHILE BRAKING. *SLC
DURING A SUDDEN STOP ABS BRAKES FAILED, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE WENT FORWARD, RESULTING IN COLLISIONS. DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES, AND VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.
ABS BRAKE PROBLEMS; WHILE DRIVING ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, IN AN EMERGENCY STOPPING SITUATION THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE ABS SYSTEM DID NOT KICK IN, CAUSING DRIVER TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. NOT EXPERIENCING ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS AT THIS TIME. *AK *NLM

ABS BRAKE PROBLEMS; WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 30-35 MPH AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE SYSTEM SURGED TWICE AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE ROAD WAS WET AT THE TIME. THIS INCIDENT CAUSED DRIVER TO HIT A VEHICLE HEAD ON IN THE OPPOSITE LANE. *AK
