TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE DRIVER VEERED OFF THE ROADWAY AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES AND A POLICE A REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO A DISLODGED FUEL LINE AND A COMPROMISED FIREWALL. THE FIRE WAS IGNITED BY THE FUEL LEAK THAT CAME FROM UNDER THE CARRIAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. 8/11/2018 I CAME UPON STOPPED TRAFFIC WITH NOT ENOUGH TIME TO DECELERATE. I IMMEDIATELY HIT MY BRAKES, BUT REARENDED A PICKUP TRUCK. THE TRUCK FLIPPED OVER ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE. I CONTINUED TRAVELING AND WENT ON THE EMBANKMENT. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I NOTICED FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IN FLAMES. PASSERSBY GOT BOTH OF US OUT. BUT THE CAR WAS TOTALLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. IT HAPPENED ON INTERSTATE.
WE WERE INVOLVED IN A FOUR CAR CRASH. WE WERE THE THIRD CAR. THE TRAFFIC WAS A LITTLE HEAVY AND STOP AND GO. THE TWO CARS IN FRONT OF US STOPPED FAST AND WE DID TOO. THEN WE LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW A HONDA ODYSSEY COMING AT US AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH. THE DRIVER SLAMMED INTO THE REAR OF OUR CAR. THE CAR STARTED ON FIRE AS SOON AS WE WERE HIT. I WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND I COULD SEE THE FLAMES AND SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE CAR. MY HUSBAND JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR AND I COULDN'T OPEN MY DOOR. MY HUSBAND THEN HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON HIS SIDE AND THEN CAME AROUND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND GOT ME OUT OF THE CAR. I WAS CRYING AND TERRIFIED. A BUSINESS MAN CAME FROM ACROSS THE STREET AND TRIED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. HE HAD TO RETURN BACK TO HIS BUSINESS AND OUR NEW CAR WAS STILL ON FIRE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED AWAY. I WENT TO THE HOSPITAL. I WAS SORE FROM WHERE THE SEATBELT WAS AND FROM BEING SO BADLY JERKED BACK AND FORTH. I AM STILL RECEIVING SOME MEDICAL CARE. THE DRIVER OF THE HONDA ODYSSEY WAS FOUND AT FAULT AND ISSUED A TICKET. WE HAVE YET TO FIND OUT WHY THIS CAR STARTED ON FIRE. NO ONE AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP COULD OR WOULD ANSWER THAT QUESTION. CAN YOU FIND THE ANSWER THIS QUESTION? IS THERE A DEFECT IN THIS CAR? THREE OLDER VEHICLES IN THIS ACCIDENT AND THE ONLY CAR THAT STARTS ON FIRE IS OUR BRAND NEW 2013 FORD EDGE WITH 5,000 MILES ON IT. FORD SHOULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM WHEN A BRAND NEW CAR STARTS ON FIRE. *TR
The airbags did not deploy when the car was in a front and rear end collision on 2/12/26. Injuries occurred. No one has confirmed the problem. The car was taken to a Collison center to be evaluated but am uncertain if that part has been evaluated. There were not symptoms of failure beforehand.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously been involved in a crash due to brake failure, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into the guardrail. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that the front passenger side seat belt, door, fender, tire, CV joint axle, bumper, bumper cover, headlights, and grill had been replaced. A police report was filed. The contact suffered neck pain, and medical treatment was received. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving at an undisclosed speed; the brake pedal was extremely firm while depressed and made a hissing sound. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the air bag module was reset. The contact was informed that there was no brake failure. The vehicle was then taken to Simmons-Rockwell Ford, Inc. (1160 Co Rd 66, Hornell, NY 14843), and the contact was informed that the VIN was included in the Customer Satisfaction Program: 13N02 (Extended Warranty Coverage On Brake Booster); however, the vehicle exceeded the mileage limitations. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
On 5-6-22 at 9:30PM I crashed into a deer that ran onto the road. I totaled my vehicle. My airbags did not deploy. I went to ER. I have a concussion.
The Brakes on my 2013 Ford Edge failed resulting in an accident with my 17 year old son on 1-11-22. The pedal was pressed all the way down, and only the emergency break stopped the vehicle. When pressing it brake, it was as if there were no brakes whatsoever. We had a total brake job done on 8-6-2021. on 9-19-21 the car would hardly come to a complete stop, same issue that my son encountered. The pedal would go all the way down and the pedal would hiss during this time. We had the brake booster replaced. So in a span of 1 month and an half we spent $1,600.25 only for the issue to occur again to put my sons life and others at Risk. I have been doing some research and this is a common issue with this particular vehicle. Ford did do an partial recall of this apparently, but our vehicle was not part of this. There are many instances of the Ford Edge having this exact same problem that Ford does not seem to want to address. This car is unsafe. We will be selling this back to the dealership as we are not comfortable to drive it. There are many parts to the brake system that can cause this from the Power Booster, the ABS injector and the Master Brake Cylinder. There are many instances where this is a very intermittent problem. The issue occurs, and then the mechanics can't find anything wrong. there are hundreds of testimonies online for this vehicle and the issues that it has.
1/19/2021 HAD ACCIDENT ON I85 HIGHWAY CHARLOTTE NC. WHEN I BRAKE AT 50 MILES FOR TRYING AVOID ACCIDENT CAR DIDN'T STOP AS SOON AS. BUT I HIT MY HEAD FIRST BEFORE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.. MY FOREHEAD IS BLACK AND BLUE STILL AFTER A WEEK OF THE ACCIDENT
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG INJURED MY CHEST AND SHOULDER AND CHEST. THEE SEAT BELT CUT MY NECK . I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FORDS ALL MY LIFE AND WAS A SATISFIED CUSTOMER. BUT AFTER THAT ACCIDENT I WAS SCARD BECAUSE THE DASH BOARD DROPPED DOWN. I NOW QUESTION MY SAFETY IN A FORD EDGE. I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 35 MILES AN HOUR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED ARM, KNEE, AND BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED MAJOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
IN A CRASH INVOLVING A FRONT END COLLISION WHERE A TRUCK TURNED LEFT STRIKING OUR EDGE IN THE FRONT LEFT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 25 MPH AND THE OTHER VEHICLE AT ABOUT 15-20 MPH. MY WIFE SUFFERED A FRACTURED LEG AND I BACK ISSUES. THE CRASH WAS SEVERE ENOUGH TO TOTAL THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED SO FAST I DID NOT APPLY BRAKES. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS AN OLDER DODGE DAKOTA PICKUP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ALL FOUR PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES. TWO OF THE PASSENGERS WERE TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. ONE OF THE PASSENGERS HAD A LUMBAR FRACTURE, ONE HAD AN UPPER AND LOWER SPINAL FRACTURE, THE THIRD HAD A VERTEBRAL FRACTURE, AND THE DRIVER HAD ABRASIONS. THE THREE PASSENGERS HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL: TWO WERE DISCHARGED ON THE NOVEMBER 19, 2015 AND ONE HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT 3 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A VEHICLE AND INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY REPAIR CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
2013 FORD EDGE FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. A FUEL LEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE MAY RESULT IN A FIRE. LEAVING THE RESIDENCE. ONCE PASSED THE CONTROL OF THE SECURITY AGENT OF THE RESIDENCE. I ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE NORMALLY AND THEN HEAR A RATHER DEAFENING NOISE. I STOP THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AND PROCESS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY AS I FEEL THE BODY WARM. ONCE I GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND RUN TO A SAFE PLACE ABOUT 40 FEET AWAY, I THROW MYSELF ON THE GROUND AND LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND SEE THAT THE VEHICLE IS BURNING. I CAN SEE THAT THE FIRE IS CONSUMING THE VEHICLE AND CAN OBSERVE FIRE INSIDE THE VEHICLE COMING OUT OF THE WINDOWS AND FIRE THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE THAT GOES FROM THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE DOWN THE SIDE. AND THE FIRE RUNS TO THE GAS TANK.
Was going 70 mph (speed limit) and hit a deer, car was totaled. Upon impact my seatbelt locked up and I smelled smoke, but the airbags didn't actually deploy. No warning signs or prior issues known.
I ve been having to pump my brakes and push real hard to make them work. I ve been told by local mechanic that it is the POWER BRAKES BOOSTER I ve called my local Ford dealer where I bought my car, Oxmoor Ford I was told the brake repair warranty was for 10 years and no longer applied to my car. I only have 45,00 miles. Please help extend the warranty on my car since I am still in the 10th year. They said it ended April 25, 2013 I did have a wreck earlier this year- I rear ended someone- could have been the brakes. Don t know
Power Brake Booster Failure- No Warning Lights
I have a 2013 ford edge and I was driving at 40=45 mph and when I came up to a light the brake peddle went to the floor and was very hard to stop. The result was me having to leave the road to the right to avoid a collision. I took it to ford who stated it needed a brake booster and said my vehicle doesn't qualify for an extended warranty on the booster. Car had 88k miles at time of incident.prior to the incident no lights or signs. After this I hear a loud hissing noise from under dash.
Brake pedal sinks to the floor, I have replaced the master cylinder (3) times and also the Break Power Buster. . . Problem still exist
On June 7th, 2022 my wife [XXX] was driving her 2013 Ford Edge and stopped at the Belks Department store located at the Tri-City Mall located in Forest City, NC 28043. She parked her car and went inside to shop. After approximately 10 minutes shopping inside the store, she hears an announcement over the Belks Store intercom “ Would the person driving a White Ford Edge please come to the cosmetic counter. When she walks over to the counter a store employee, and a customer, told her that her car had rolled down the parking lot and hit a parked tractor trailer rig ( trailer only). Fortunately it did not hit any other cars located in the parking lot. The front end of the Ford Edge was severely damaged, including, front hood, front bumper, grilles, coolant fan, and other front end items. The tractor trailer was not damaged.
