TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EDGE. THAT CONTACT STATED THAT PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT SPACE TO PARK, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK WITHOUT WARNING AS THE VEHICLE SHOT FORWARD CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. THE CONTACT TRIED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO RELEASE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A 2ND VEHICLE AS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD ACROSS THE STREET INTO A TREE WHERE IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE FIRST INDIVIDUAL IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE PELVIC BONE (FRACTURE). THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES CONCUSSION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE OTHER INDIVIDUAL WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP WHERE AT THIS TIME WAS AWAITING ESTIMATES FOR DAMAGES BY INSURANCE COMPANY. NO DEALER OR MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000. *DT*JB
THIS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSED ITS PATH GOING THE WRONG WAY ON A ONE WAY STREET. THIS FORD EDGE STRUCK THE FORD F150 BROADSIDE AT APPROXIMATELY 30+ MPH AT ABOUT A 20 DEGREE ANGLE DRIVERS SIDE HOOD AND FENDER AND WINDSHIELD BROKEN. THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND THE KNEE BOLSTER DID NOT DEPLOY FULLY. THIS CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES TO THE DRIVER.
WAS IN ACCIDENT HIT FROM BACK AND THAN FRONT. CAR WAS TOTALED. AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF. CAR WAS STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC JAM. ACCIDENT WAS ON A HIGHWAY.
NHTSA SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE POTENTIAL FOR SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET MOUNTED ON THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT BULKHEAD ON FORD VEHICLES THAT UTILIZE THE CJ5Z-7825557-AB MOULDING. THIS BRACKET FAILED ON MY 2017 FORD EDGE THAT WAS TWO WEEKS OLD AND HAD 500 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. COPIES OF THE EXPERT MECHANICS' REPORT AND THE REPORT FROM THE METALLURGIST, WHO WAS HIRED TO CONDUCT AN ANALYSIS AND THE FAILURE MODE OF THE BRAKE BRACKET REMOVED FROM MY VEHICLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT, ARE ATTACHED TO THIS COMPLAINT. DURING THE METALLURGICAL STUDY A BRAND NEW BRAKE BRACKET WAS ANALYZED AND WAS FOUND TO HAVE SIMILAR CRACKS. WHEN THE BRAKE BRACKET FRACTURED AND FAILED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND I LOST THE ABILITY TO DECELERATE THE VEHICLE. NONE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THE KEY-LESS IGNITION WOULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS TO USE BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE SWITCHED OFF THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS TO THE AIR BAGS. MY FULL ATTENTION WAS FOCUSED ON STEERING THE VEHICLE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CROSS MULTIPLE LANES OF TRAFFIC AND GET ONTO THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO REDUCE SPEED. SEE THE ATTACHED POLICE REPORT FOR A SUMMARY OF THE ACCIDENT. A FORD ENGINEERING REPRESENTATIVE HAS BEEN ACTIVE IN THE INVESTIGATION SINCE APRIL AND FAILED TO INCLUDE OTHER FORD AND SUPPLIER PERSONNEL IN THE JOINT REVIEW OF THE DEFECTIVE PART OR SUGGESTED ANY ADDITIONAL TESTING. WHEN I STARTED CONTACTING FORD IN OCTOBER, SUDDENLY THEY INSISTED THAT I HAD TO GIVE THEM THE DEFECTIVE PART, SO THEY COULD CONDUCT THEIR OWN TESTING AND REVIEW. I REFUSED TO HAND OVER THE PART AND OFFERED JOINT REVIEWS AND TESTING. FORD REFUSED MY OFFER AND BASICALLY SAID TO TAKE THEM TO COURT. CONTRARY TO WHAT FORD MAY CLAIM, THE DAMAGED VEHICLE AND DEFECTIVE PART ARE STILL OWNED BY ME, BUT BEING HELD BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY SINCE TESTING. *BF *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD EDGE. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS REVERSING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO OPERATE. ADDITIONALLY, THE STEERING SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE ABNORMALLY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN MOTION, THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND SUFFERED A CONCUSSION, BRUISES, HEADACHES, BACK ACHES, AND CONTUSIONS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OPENED DOOR ALSO CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE NEIGHBOR'S VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300.
MY CHILDREN AND I WERE IN A COLLISION THAT WAS SO BAD THE CAR WAS TOTALED. SOMETIME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COLLISION THE DRIVER SEAT BELT AND THE PASSAGER'S SEAT BELT BEHIND THE DRIVER CAME UNCLIPPED. WE WERE WEARING THEM AND THE PROOF IS ON OUR CHESTS FROM THE BURN. HOWEVER, IF A HEAVY VEHICLE HAD HIT US FROM BEHIND MY SON AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN THROWN FROM THE CAR BECAUSE OF THIS. MY DAUGHTER'S SEAT BELT (BACK PASSAGER BEHIND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT) DID NOT UNCLIP. JUST THE TWO ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE.
I HIT A UTILITY POLE HEAD ON. I SWERVED TO MISS A CAR. I WAS TRAVELING A SPEED AT ABOUT 25 MILES A HOUR. THE AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY.

Our 2017 Ford Edge that we bought for our daughter to drive to college already had the passenger read brake line blow out and ruin the seals on the calipers and the parking brake actuator had to be replaced. The pedal went to the floor and she couldn't stop at an intersection and she put a hole in the front bumper. There was no warning in the dash to indicate that there was a problem with the brakes. It just failed out of nowhere. We went to the Ford dealer we bought the car from, Alma Ford and asked them what they could do since that part that is recalled is what broke. They said they could not do anything because they have no parts and would not help us. We ended up having to take the car to an independent mechanic and pay out of our own pocket to get it fixed.
PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LETTER This complaint is being submitted due to gross negligence in recall communication and manufacturer accountability. This failure in vehicle safety oversight that has already resulted in emotional and financial harm. In September of this year, I submitted an application for a buy-back option to Ford but was denied. This application/request was assigned a case number by Ford: cxh05566445w6s6x2 My vehicle has four unresolved safety recalls, two of which directly caused two accident that could—and should—have been prevented had I been notified of the known safety risks. I did not receive recall notices until after both of the accidents occurred, which demonstrates a systemic failure by the manufacturer, Ford. This negligence is not only irresponsible—it violates basic safety obligations to consumers and the public. I request immediate action from NHTSA to investigate this matter and enforce compliance. A description of the incidents and associated recalls that have incurred are described on the following page. Additionally, just last week while driving on a rural road, my vehicle’s transmission unexpectedly shifted from standard Drive into Sport mode (“S”) on its own without any input from me. This sudden and uncommanded gear change created a dangerous driving situation, and I strongly believe this may be another serious safety defect that has yet to be acknowledged or recalled by the manufacturer. 1. NHTSA Recall Number: 25V572 Recall Date: September 8, 2025 Manufacturer Recall Number: 25S89 Incident Date: January 2025 Incident Description: In January 2025, while backing out of my driveway, the rear-view camera suddenly displayed a distorted image and failed to detect a large tree directly behind my vehicle, causing me to reverse into it. This was not a minor inconvenience—this safety failure could have resulted in serious injury or worse had a child, pedestrian, or another vehicle been behind me at the time. I often have my children and neighborhood kids near my driveway, and I relied on
I bought this car used from Honda Dealership. It had 84,000 mileage on it and since then. The headlights are so dim and I can’t see you have to drive with high beam on every time I go at night I’ve changed almost we like 56 different types light bulb, but still nothing still worst. If I used one for the manufacturer one it’s nothing it’s literally dark outside. I can’t see nothing and another problem is as the ball joint since I bought it I took it from my first oil change when they did the inspection on the car they told me one of my passenger side ball joint was loose but that time I didn’t have money to repair it because it was almost $5000 they said and I was like I don’t have the money. I’m a college student so and recently my car wheel is to the left side more. Something if there’s anything I can do is there anything y’all can do to help cause I don’t want to get in an accident because of that thing.
Power Steering System went out while driving. A warning light for the Advanced Traction System came on shortly before the Power Steering went out. This caused me to hit a curb creating a tire blowout. I got both problems fixed and the mechanic stated the issue with the power steering was that a wire for the system was resting on the catalytic converter, which caused the wire to melt and create the power steering failure. The mechanic replaced the wiring and replaced the mounting for the wiring to prevent it from resting on the exhaust system. The defect was only inspected by the mechanic that repaired the vehicle. No insurance or police since I was lucky enough to make it home.
front driver side Brake hose went out. got it fixed at the ford dealership. a couple months later my front passenger side brake hose went out. got it fixed at the ford dealership, but this time the dealership told me my master cylinder was bad and I needed to get that fixed too. ford finally acknowledged the problem, but it took them a year to actually fix it. a year after they acknowledged the recall and actually fixed it a couple months later my rear brake hose went out. however ford dealership refused to fix the rear brake hose, the dealership said the rear brake hoses were not included in the recall (only the front brake hoses).
