Have had issues from day one. Lane centering hugs middle line, back up camera is black at times, when in drive screen is blank, all tools on steering have went out including turn signals, cruse control, collision avoidance flashes when no one is in front of me, brakes due to collision avoidance malfunction etc. in November 2021 car was in park ( know that for sure it was in park and not moving as fed ex came for delivery and walked around back of car to get package before accident) and rolled to front pinning me and breaking pelvis and back. During this incident the safety failed in park, anti collie on failed, 9 days in hospital and months of rehab. Again coming back from doctor lost steering controls. 7 weeks in shop and many calls to dealer and ford motor they replaced main wiring harness stating to me in an email and in person this was the cause of all issues including the roll over. Just got car back on 6/17/22. Shall see if this fixes problem but I don’t even want to drive this car anymore! Total miles to date 17,000
VEHICLE transmission while in park failed to remain and moved backward on its own. My safety was at risk as a tractor trailer pulled into rest stop and had to brake b4 colliding with the said vehicle, also if anything was behind me it could have been at risk. unknown unknown NO there was NO warning lamps or messages of this problem, however there were indications on the dashboard lights that stated Blind Spot System Fault AND Cross Traffic System Fault at 45478 miles and Prior
We were driving my 2020 Ford Edge when my vehicle and another vehicle collided. The entire front end of my Ford was smashed in due to the force of the impact. We had to be extracted by the fire department, because we could not open the doors. My pre collusion alert system did not sound off; nor did the airbags deploy despite the rate of speed from the other car as we both entered the intersection. As a result of the airbags failing to deploy, my wife suffered injuries resulting in a trip to the ER. She is still treating with medical providers. Prior to this incident we had no indication of any safety features failing. No warning lights, messages or other symptoms. The manufacturer has been made aware of the incident but has not yet inspected the vehicle at the time of this report. It is currently being held at an auto repair shop.
Brake pedal dropped to floor when applied slight pressure to slow from 30mph to 20 mph, then the car surged no brakes. I finally got car to stop by putting in neutral and engaging emergency brake.
I was driving down the road, coming around a bend and then I was in bushes with a tree in the hood of my car. The car was slanted in an embankment. The driver could not get out of the door they crawled over to the passenger side and got out of the vehicle. The car was wedged between two trees. The airbags never deployed on this front impact accident.

Waiting in line at drive through and had my foot on the brake and my car surged forward hitting the car in front of me and they hit the car in front of them. I found no recall on my 2020 Edge titanium but this surge has happened before.
WHILE IN MOTION WITH NO ROAD TRAFFIC AHEAD OF VEHICLE CRASH DETECTOR ENGAGES, OCCURRED ON HIGHWAY STRAIGHTAWAY. WHILE IN MOTION LANE ASSIST MADE A HARD PULL TO THE RIGHT, DRIVER OVERCORRECTED TO THE LEFT RESULTING IN COLLISION, OCCURRED ON HIGHWAY STRAIGHTAWAY.
I WAS DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. WHEN WE WOULD MOVE FORWARD IT WOULD ONLY BE FOR 1 CAR LENGTH. I STOPPED, AND WHEN THE ENGINE TURNED BACK ON FROM THE AUTO START/STOP, THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AND HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND, BECAUSE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. I HAVE SEEN 2 OTHER COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE, HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
On [XXX] at [XXX] I was driving home from work as I turned on [XXX] road in Jackson CA I felt the vehicle pull and not want to pick up speed to drive up the road like it wanted to stall and only rolled forward a bit. The vehicle then picked back up and I made it to the stop light at the end of the road once I stopped for less than 1 minute the light turned green, I tried to go and the vehicle shut off and began to roll back I had to step on the break and the car behind me reversed so I would not hit him and then the screen flashed a turn vehicle off and restart engine I tried multiple times about 6. Cars had to go around me as I was the first at the light. I finally got the car to turn on and white smoke came out the exhaust pipes I couldn’t put the car in drive. I tried to re start the vehicle again and got it into drive and was able to pull on the side of the highway and more white smoke came out still no vehicle warning signs came on but the screen flashed dimly like it wanted to turn off again. I flagged down a fire truck and called 911 for help the fighters stated it seemed like my engine had blown out and the coolant was completely drained and may have gotten inside the engine causing the white smoke but to take it to a mechanic to verify. I had the vehicle towed to my home. On the way to work that night it drove fine with no issues or warnings, or pulling, I ran errands the day prior and no light warnings came on nor was my vehicle temperatures out of place. I even had my car serviced on [XXX] and had no issues I keep up on the maintenance I got the vehicle used from enterprise with a mileage of 52,559 on [XXX] the vehicle now has only 96,634 I’ve had the car for only a year and 4 months it should not have had an engine issue l have made a claim with my insurance hoping to get help, I’m calling enterprise for warranty information if there’s any and ford to see if there is any manufacturer warranties hoping to hear back this week. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),
My vehicle transmission gear selector went out I believe. While having my mechanic try to see if something was happening with transmission, the vehicle was placed into neutral and the tires started spinning as if it were in drive. The vehicle does not do the appropriate action when the gear is selected. In addition, it will not reverse when selected. When the mechanic was looking at transmission and wheels began to spin while in neutral, he was under car near front tire and injured his hand due to the vehicle not doing the appropriate action. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. There was a prior recall on the same issue for model year up to 2019 however mine is a 2020. I have seen numerous complaints of the same issue in many online forums but ford has offered no help. They have not offered anything more on this issue except for an astronomical quote to have it tested and no actual idea on how to fix it. There were zero lights that came on regarding the issue and I had no warning while driving my vehicle that stopped and would not proceed to drive when it was driving perfectly fine right before.
On 10/22/2022 while driving on a highway at the posted speed limit, without warning the Panorama Sun Roof exploded showering shards of glass on Myself and My Wife. The glass sunroof was properly closed but the inside headliner panel was open to enjoy the sun. The moderate average temperature outside at this time was approximately 68 degrees. This vehicle currently has approximately 12,250 miles on it. When the sunroof suddenly exploded, my wife sustained cuts to her hand and both of us were covered in shredded glass, including tiny glass shards embedded in our scalps. The explosion was so sudden and loud I nearly lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, there was minimal traffic on the road at the time of the explosion with no vehicles immediately in front of us. Research has revealed many incidents of exploding sunroofs on various Ford models, with an exceptionally high incident rate for the Ford Edge model. It was further discovered that this exploding sunroof issue in various Ford models has been ongoing since 2008 with the Ford Motor Company being made aware of this defect. Research has further indicated to date, Ford has failed to issue a recall for this serious and dangerous defect. If our grandchildren had been rear seat passengers (which is often the case), this incident could have been tragically much worse. Not only did the exploding sunroof cause a serious, dangerous and injurious safety threat to us as passengers, getting the vehicle off the road (with the interior headliner panel closed) caused a safety threat to any nearby drivers as we could hear and see the remaining shattered glass flying off the vehicle into the roadway.
On 11-16-2021 I put my 2020 Ford Edge in park, got out, and it rolled away. After I put the Edge in park, I opened my door and was moving a trash can, when the Edge rolled forward pinning me.
I AM LEASING THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT FOR 6 MONTHS. WHEN PARKED AND LOADING GROCERIES INTO THE REAR, THE LIFTGATE HAS COME DOWN ON MY HEAD AND BACK AT LEAST 5 TIMES ON ITS OWN. THERE IS A SENSOR THAT IS UNDER THE CAR AND ACTIVATES WHEN YOUR FEET ARE UNDER IT. FAULTY DESIGN. YOU CANNOT LOAD THE BACK WITHOUT THIS LIFTGATE COMING DOWN ON YOU. I HAVE BEEN HURT AND SUFFERED HEADACHES AFTER GETTING HIT WITH THE LIFTGATE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH THEM ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ON THE INTERNET.
THE BACK HATCH DOOR WAS OPEN TO PUT SHOPPING ITEMS AWAY, AND MY DAUGHTER TURNED AROUND TO PUT A CART AWAY IN A PARKING LOT. ALL OF A SUDDEN ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS COMING AND SHE BACKED UP WITH A CART IN FRONT OF HER, AND THE HATCH DOOR HIT HER BETWEEN THE SHOULDERS. IT HIT HER, IT STOPPED AND THEN MOVED UPWARDS. SOMETHING LIKE THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME WITH ANOTHER FORD THAT I TRADED IN LAST YEAR FOR THIS 2020 FORD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A CAMERA REPAIR PRIOR TO THIS, SO DO NOT KNOW IF A SENSOR IS OUT OR NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY; AND THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE MAKES A CREAKING NOISE SINCE THEY REPLACED THE REAR VIEW CAMERA. DO NOT KNOW IF THIS HAS ANYTHING DO DO WITH THE HATCH BACK OPEN AND CLOSE FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK IN A SPOT IN A SHOPPING CENTER ON A TWO WAY PARKING LOT.
Check engine light came on for a power train malfunction. The problem is a failing torque converter or its control (TCC) causing transmission shudder 65,000 miles
