TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, BUT THE OTHER AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE AIR BAG. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN ARM INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V319000 AND 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
'TAKATA RECALL' THE VEHICLE WAS IN A WRECK @ 60MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL & STARTED SLIDING THEN FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES WHICH TOTALED THE CAR. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED!! I HAD JUST TRADED MY OTHER CAR FOR THIS MUSTANG JUST A FEW WEEKS BEFORE AS AN EVEN TRADE. THE DEALERSHIP WHO TRADED WITH ME STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE MUSTANG, NO RECALLS OR ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT CAUSE THEY DID A 360 INSPECTION.
2005 FORD MUSTANG. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEALERSHIP REFUSAL TO REPAIR RECALL NOTICE 14V-802 & 15V-319 DUE TO PREVIOUS AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT DURING VEHICLE ACCIDENT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS DAUGHTER WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION IN SEPTEMBER 2014. WHEN THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, SOME TYPE OF DEBRIS EMITTED FROM THE AIR BAGS AND LITERALLY BURNED AND GOUGED HIS DAUGHTER'S RIGHT AR, UP TO HER ELBOW. THE AIR BAG WAS NOT REPLACED AT THE AUTO BODY, BECAUSE HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL. THE AIR BAG WAS STUFFED BACK INTO ITS HOUSING AND TAPED SHUT, BUT THE SEAT BELT WAS LOCKED IN ONE POSITION DUE TO THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE STEERING CONTROL. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TREE. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUFFERED FROM A HEAD CONCUSSION, LACERATION TO THE FACE, AND BODY BRUISES THAT INCLUDED SEVERE INJURIES TO THE STOMACH AND BLOOD CLOTS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE FACILITY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,603.

GAS PEDAL STUCK GOING DOWN HILL RESULTING IN AUTO RUNNING OFF ROAD AND OVER A CLIFF. THE DRIVER IS ON LIFE SUPPORT, THE PASSENGER PARALYZED WITH A BROKEN BACK. 2005 FORD MUSTANG PASSENGER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED CAUSING INJURIES TO THE CONSUMER'S BACK. *NJ
THREE TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS, MY DAUGHTER'S MUSTANG EXPERIENCED UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION. THE ENGINE RACED WITHOUT PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE BRAKE WAS USELESS. TWICE SHE WAS IN TRAFFIC AND NARROWLY AVOIDED A CRASH. THIS WEEK MY WIFE WAS USING THE CAR AND IT DID THE SAME THING, AND SHE CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. SHE WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHEN IT HAPPENED, HITTING A POLE. THEN, WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE, THE CAR RACED FORWARD. AGAIN THE BRAKE WAS INEFFECTIVE. TWO YEARS AGO, THIS WAS REPORTED TO A FORD DEALER, WHO DIDN'T FIND, NOR FIX, ANYTHING. STRANGELY, THEY NOW HAVE NO RECORD OF THE PROBLEM BEING REPORTED. HOWEVER, FORD DOES. *TR

JANUARY 3, 2006 THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON I-24 (NASHVILLE, TN.). THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON! SHE PREPARED TO TURN OFF I-24, AT HAYWOOD LANE EXIT, SHE APPLIED BRAKES. THE CAR FIRST SLOWED DOWN TO 40 MPH. THEN ACCELERATED/SPED UP. THE CAR WAS EXITED THE HIGHWAY AT GREAT SPEED. THE DRIVER BRAKED AGAIN, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN A LITTLE. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SPED UP, WITH SUCH FORCE THE DRIVER WAS THROWN TO THE BACK OF HER SEAT. PRESSING THE BRAKES NOW HAD NO EFFECT. THE CONSUMER CLEARED THE EXIT LANE ONTO HAYWOOD, THE CAR WAS STILL SPEEDING. THE DRIVER FACED NO CROSS TRAFFIC AT THE INTERSECTION OF HAYWOOD LANE/ANTIOCH PIKE ( INTERSECTION-HAYWOOD THE I AND ANTIOCH PIKE THE TOP OF THE T). THE DRIVER CAR WAS STOPPED BY RUNNING INTO A CAR AND A VAN AT A GAS STATION. THE VEHICLES WERE SPUN AROUND AND HIT THE GAS STATION AT THE T. THE DRIVER HAS DRIVEN THIS HIGHWAY TURN OFF AND INTERSECTION OVER 23 YEARS. SHE HAS BEEN DRIVING THIS MAKE AND TYPE OF MUSTANG FOR SEVERAL YEARS. SHE HAS OWNED 5 MUSTANGS. THE DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. WITH A BROKEN NOSE, BROKEN FOOT (RIGHT WHERE THE FOOT WAS POSITIONED OVER THE BRAKE), CRACKED RIBS, BRUISED AND LACERATED FACE/ LEGS. AFTER A HOSPITAL STAY AND FOLLOW-UP VISITS BEFORE BEING ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK. FORD CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS CONTACTED AND THEY DID A TELEPHONE INTERVIEW OF THE ABOVE FACTORS. QUESTIONS SEEMED TO BE AIMED AT DETERMINING IF AN ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION HAD OCCURRED. THE QUESTIONER MAY HAVE BEEN READING FROM A CHECKLIST. LATER, WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD DEMANDING ALL SORTS OF INFORMATION. THIS WAS FORWARDED TO FORD. ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER, WE RECEIVED A CURT TWO LINE LETTER INDICATING "WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE AT THIS TIME". OUR INSURANCE COMPANY ELECTED TO TRY TO PERFORM A CRASH ANALYSIS. WE APPRISED THEM OF THE SIMILAR CRUISE CONTROL ON THIS WEBSITE AND PROVIDED INFORMATION ON "ROGUE SIGNALS" AND OTHER DATA CONCERNING THIS EVENT. RESULTS PENDING.
WHILE BACKING INTO MY GARAGE, FOOT ON BRAKE, SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, CAR TOOK OFF FULL THROTTLE. HIT WALL OF GARAGE BOUNCED OFF WALL HIT CONCRETE RETAINING WALL. THE CONSUMERS DAUGHTER HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK TO STOP IT. THE CONSUMERS WIFE SUSTAINED INJURIES, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED.*AK *JB
Allen , our son had accident Friday May 20th in our 2005 Ford Mustang gt. He swerved to miss something in the road and lost control of the vehicle. It actually rolled over but also damaged the front end enough to bend the frame rails. The ai bags did not set off. There was a recall on them and we had them replaced by Ford in 2020 . My wife and I felt like they should have deployed . Thanks
