WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 IN FT. LAUDERDALE, FLDURING RUSH HOUR I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT, SPEED APPROXIMATELY 30MPH OR LESS BEFORE APPLYING BRAKES. CAR NOSE DIVED AND HIT REAR OF OTHER CAR GOING UNDER THE REAR BUMPER. MY CAR SUFFERED MINOR DAMAGE OF BOTH FENDERS, HEADLIGHTS, RADIATOR. FRONT BUMPER WAS UNTOUCHED, AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I TURNED IGNITION OFF, PUT CAR IN PARK, STEPPED OUT OF CAR AND AFTER APPROXIMATELY 2 - 5 MINUTES FIRE WAS VISIBLE BELOW BUMPER THAT RAPIDLY TURNED INTO A FULL FLEDGED FIRE ENGULFING THE ENTIRE CAR. THE COLLISION CAUSED NO DAMAGE TO THE CAR PAST THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE, FLYWHEELS UNTOUCHED. FIRE TRUCK ARRIVED TO PUT OUT FIRE. NO EXPLOSION OCCURRED. THE COLLISION SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED A FIRE
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNED A 2011 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN AND HIT HER ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE PILLAR. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT TOOK HIS WIFE TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE SUFFERED A CONCUSSION AND TWO HERNIATED DISCS; IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE OTHER DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED (#159951319-M). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED BUT HAD NOT OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE REPLACED IN DECEMBER OF 2018 UNDER A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,105.

I WAS RECENTLY IN A WRECK AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY CAR IS STUCK AT THE BODY SHOP BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT GET AN AIRBAG FOR IT. MY INSURANCE ON MY RENTAL CAR WILL BE UP IN 2 WEEKS, THE CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED ALREADY IT JUST HAD MINOR FRONT END DAMAGE AND THE WINDSHIELD CRACK DUE TO THE AIRBAG AND THE AIRBAG INJURED MY RIGHT ARM. IT NEVER SHOULD DEPLOYED IN THE FIRST PLACE THE IMPACT WAS NOT EVEN THAT SEVERE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY NEVER GET BACK WITH ME THIS IS BEGINNING TO GET VERY FRUSTRATING. AIR FAIL TO DEPLOY WHEN HIT BY A UNINSURED MOTORIST WHO WAS SPEEDING THROUGH A SCHOOL ZONE DID AN LEGAL LANE CHANGE HIT ME WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN SEAT BELT ON LEFT TURN BLEAKER ON TURNING WHEN SAFE BAM!!! NEVER SEEN IT COMING MY HEAD SLAMMED INTO THE STEEL FAME OF MY 2011 FORD MUSTANG V6 HEAD NECK BACK MID LOWER BACK EVERY THING FROM HEAD TO TOE ON MY LEFT HURTS LIKE HELL RIBS ON BOTH SIDES KNEES HANDS FEET AS WELL.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A NO-FAULT ACCIDENT IN MY 2011 FORD MUSTANG IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR AFTER SOMEONE IN THE LANE TO MY LEFT WHO WAS HELD UP IN TRAFFIC IN HIS LANE PULLED OUT INTO MY LANE WITHOUT LOOKING, CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO SMASH INTO HIM. THE FORCE OF THE CRASH CAUSED OVER $9,000 IN DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND LEFT ME WITH 5 HERNIATED DISCS, HIP PROBLEMS, AND A NUMBER OF OTHER ISSUES. I HAVE HAD A SERIES OF SHOTS IN MY NECK, AS WELL AS MY SPINE, BOTH OF WHICH HAVE NOT ALLEVIATED MY PAIN. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO FOR MY NECK AT THIS TIME, AND THAT I HAVE TO JUST LEARN TO LIVE WITH THE PAIN, AND ALSO THAT I NEED TO HAVE SURGERY ON MY LOWER BACK. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. TWO MONTHS LATER, I GOT A RECALL LETTER IN FROM FORD, BUT I TOOK MY CAR UP TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. THEY WEREN'T EVEN INTERESTED IN TRADING MY CAR IN. I SUPPOSE THAT I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL THAT IT DID NOT GO OFF, AS APPARENTLY PEOPLE ARE DYING WHEN THEY DO, BUT SOMEHOW IT DOES NOT MAKE ME FEEL BETTER, AS THIS HAS TOTALLY MESSED UP MY LIFE THESE LAST 6 MONTHS THAT HAVE BEEN FILLED WITH TIME-CONSUMING VISITS TO DOCTORS, CHIROPRACTORS, ETC... I'M ONLY 36 YEARS OLD, AND NOW I AM SUPPOSE TO LIVE WITH THIS?? IT'S REALLY TERRIBLE WHAT HAS HAPPENED. I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHO TO TALK TO ABOUT A SUIT FOR THE AIRBAG SITUATION, AS I SPOKE WITH MY INJURY ATTORNEY WHO IS SUING THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR MY INJURIES, AND HE IS SOMEHOW UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE AIRBAG LAWSUITS ARE ONLY REGARDING THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING SPONTANEOUSLY, AND NOT THAT THEY ARE JUST NOT GOING OFF AT ALL WHEN YOU NEED THEM DURING AN ACCIDENT. I AM CONFIDENT THAT IF MY AIRBAG WOULD HAVE DONE WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO AND PROTECT MY NECK AND HEAD DURING THE CRASH, THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE SUFFERED SUCH TRAUMA TO MY SPINE THAT LED TO THIS. ADDITIONALLY, THREE PASSENGERS THAT WERE IN THE OTHER VEHICLE ALSO SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE INDICATOR CAME ON ALONG WITH THE SERVICE ADVANCE-TRACK INDICATOR AND THEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED COMPLETELY. THIS FORCED ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WITH NO ABILITY TO STEER THE CAR AT ALL. I WAS FORCED OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE I COULD NOT CHANGE DIRECTION AT ALL AND ENDED UP HITTING MY HEAD, ELBOW AND KNEES. AFTER CALLING THE FORD DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A "TSB" ABOUT IT BUT NO RECALL. THE DEALER THEN WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT ALMOST ALL THE FORD VEHICLES HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, EXCEPT THE MUSTANG EVEN THOUGH THEY SEE MORE OF THIS PROBLEM IN MUSTANGS THAN ANY OTHER MODEL. THEY THEN QUOTED ME OVER $3,000 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THIS PROBLEM, IN MY OPINION, COULD'VE KILLED ME AND I'M SHOCKED THAT IT HASN'T COST ANY ELSE THEIR LIFE. *TR
THERE WERE MANY INCIDENTS WITH MY MUSTANG 5.0 BUT THIS WAS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT. THE PROBLEM IS AS I FOUND OUT TWO YEARS LATER IS THAT THE WIDTH OF THE OEM TIRES AND WHEELS ARE TOO NARROW FOR THE WEIGHT AND POWER OF THIS VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING ON EL CAMINO REAL AND I HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY BECAUSE A CAR CAME ON THE ROAD UNEXPECTEDLY AND THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME HIT THE BRAKES AND SO I DID BUT MY CAR JUST KEPT SLIDING FORWARD, IT LOST GRIP WITH THE ASPHALT COMPLETELY. I EXPERIENCED SIMILAR SITUATIONS MANY TIMES WHEN TAKING TURNS WHERE MY REAR WOULD SPIN AROUND THE FRONT WHICH RENDERS THE CAR OUT OF CONTROL SWINGING LEFT AND RIGHT IN BOTH LANES ON THE ROAD. IF ITS WET OUT I WOULDN'T EVEN PUSH THE ACCELERATOR MUCH BECAUSE IT JUST CAUSES THE REAR WHEELS TO SPIN. I JUST CHANGED MY BACK TIRES TO A WIDER SIZE AND THE PROBLEMS ARE GREATLY DIMINISHED OR GONE. I AM SURPRISED THAT ALL THE ENGINEERS AND TEST DRIVERS FROM FORD WOULD LET SUCH A GREAT CAR DRIVE LIKE SANTA'S SLED. *TR
DRIVER WAS LEAVING PARKING LOT OF BANK, WHEN SHE STATES GAS PEDAL STUCK. SHE CROSSED 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND STRUCK A BUILDING. DRIVER LATER SUCCUMBED TO INJURIES. *TR

"TAKATA RECALL", CAR WAS INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT ON NOVEMBER 3, 2016. CAR WAS BROUGHT IMMEDIATELY TO BODY SHOP FOR REPAIR. ONCE BODY SHOP RECEIVED CAR, THE DRIVER (STEERING WHEEL) AIR BAG WAS ORDERED AT FORD. GEICO, MY INSURANCE COMPANY NOTIFIED ME ON DECEMBER 3, 2016 THAT THEY WILL NO LONGER COVER MY RENTAL CAR EXPENSE SINCE ITS THE FAULT OF THE CAR MANUFACTURER WHY THE AIR BAG IS NOT AVAILABLE. SO IN ORDER TO AVOID LOOSING MY JOB I HAVE TO PAY $26/DAY FOR THE RENTAL CAR. I HAVE HAD TO PAY OVER $500 JUST FOR THE 20 DAYS I HAVE HAD THE RENTAL CAR. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF MY RENTAL CAR AND THEY ARE VERY SORRY I AM INCONVENIENCED. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED FOR OVER $65,000 IN 2011 AS IT IS A SHELBY COBRA GT500 CONVERTIBLE. IT IS ONE THING IF FORD COULD PROVIDE ME WITH AN ESTIMATED DATE BUT THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED ME WITH ANY DATE SO FAR. I CANNOT AFFORD WHAT I ALREADY PAID FOR THE RENTAL CAR NOT EVEN THINKING OF HOW MANY MORE DAYS I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL UNTIL FORD CAN PROVIDE ME WITH AN AIRBAG. TAKATA RECALL I HAD MY CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP RECENTLY TO DO NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG, THERE IS STILL AN ACTIVE RECALL FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG THAT THEY ARE STILL WAITING ON PARTS FOR. SO ANYWAY I REAR ENDED A VEHICLE WHILE STUCK IN SLOW MOVING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON I35 N IN AUSTIN TX. THIS HAPPENED AFTER THEY HAD WORKED ON MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG. I WAS NOT MOVING FASTER THAN 10MPH AND THE COLLISION IMPACT DID VERY MINIMAL DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND THE OTHER DRIVER'S VEHICLE. SINCE IT WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WE COULD NOT BE BOTHERED WITH WAITING FOR A POLICE REPORT. LIKE I SAID THE DAMAGE WAS MINIMAL BUT THE ACCIDENT DID CAUSE MY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY, WHICH DID CAUSE MINOR BURN INJURIES ON MY HANDS AND ARMS. THIS IS THE MOST MILD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFETIME YET IT IS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN AN AIRBAG DEPLOY, WHICH IS WHY I BELIEVE THERE MAY HAVE BEEN FLAWS WITH THE REPAIR JOB OR THE AIRBAG HAD MALFUNCTIONED. I HAVE ATTEMPTED NUMEROUS TIMES TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY LUCK. THEY KEEP SAYING THEY ALREADY FIXED IT AND I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE MY INSURANCE ALSO WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPLACING MY AIRBAG. SO RIGHT NOW I AM CONTINUING TO DRIVE AROUND WITH A DEPLOYED AIRBAG AND MY INSPECTION IS CURRENTLY PAST DUE. SO I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED TO SEE IF THE AIRBAG RECALL REPAIR WORK THAT WAS DONE WAS FAULTY OR INCOMPLETE AND MOST LIKELY WHAT CAUSED MY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY UNNECESSARILY.
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON IH35 NORTH AND I ACCIDENTALLY REAR ENDED A VEHICLE TRYING TO GET ON THE EXIT RAMP. THE IMPACT WAS PRETTY MILD BECAUSE NO ONE WAS MOVING FASTER THAN 5-10 MPH. THE DAMAGE ON BOTH VEHICLES WAS MINIMAL AND BARELY NOTICEABLE BUT THE AIRBAG ON MY DRIVER SIDE DID DEPLOY. I HAD BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AS PART OF A SAFETY RECALL BEFORE THIS ACCIDENT. I HIGHLY SUSPECT THAT THE AIRBAG MAY HAVE DEPLOYED UNNECESSARILY OR DUE TO SOME FLAW IN THE REPAIR JOB. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO BRING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND UPON SEEING THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, MOST OF THE SERVICE PEOPLE START TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH IT IS GOING TO COST TO FIX IT. I HAVE A SAFETY RECALL LETTER FROM FORD ASSURING ME THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE THIS FIXED PROMPTLY AND FREE OF CHARGE. I HAVE BEEN IN SEVERAL CAR ACCIDENTS, MUCH MORE SEVEREIMPACTS THAN THIS ONE BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN MY CAR'S AIRBAG DEPLOY, AND THE LETTER I HAVE DOES WARN ME THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY DEPLOY ABNORMALLY.
INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TO CONSTANTLY TRY TO TURN OFF CAR AND RESTART TO GET THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING TO WORK AGAIN. LOST POWER STEERING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH KIDS IN THE CAR AND ENDED UP IN THE GRASS, ALMOST TAKING OUT THE GUARDRAIL. FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE HAVE BEEN 450,000 2011-2012 VEHICLES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND PART, YET SOMEHOW THE MUSTANGS WEREN'T IN THE RECALL. DEALERSHIP QUOTED $1500 TO REPLACE THE SAME PART THAT IS BEING RECALLED ON OTHER VEHICLES. I HAVE READ MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MUSTANGS. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY KIDS AND FAMILY ANYWHERE IN THIS CAR! IT'S AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN!!

THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE REAR END. THERE WAS NO INJURY TO REPORT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,264 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,508.
AFTER SEVERAL MILES UPHILL, THE VEHICLE HAD BEGUN TO TRAVEL DOWNHILL. AFTER LESS THAN ONE MILE, THE STEERING WAS UNRESPONSIVE; DRIVER'S INPUT ASSUMED HYDRAULIC RESPONSE. THERE WAS NONE. THE VEHICLE HIT THE SIDE OF A MOUNTAIN; VERY NARROW SHOULDER DIDN'T ALLOW FOR ERROR. THE CAR OVERTURNED. THE 'BLACK BOX' LOCATED IN THE STEERING WHEEL COLLECTS A VOLUME OF DATA EXCEPT ONE IMPORTANT FACT: STEERING WHEEL ANGLE. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS POSITIONED TO MISS THE MOUNTAIN BUT NOT TO ENTER THE ON-COMING LANE. THE STEERING DIDN'T REACT. WHY WAS THIS ESSENTIAL DATA NOT RECORDED WHEN MANY OTHER TRIVIAL COMPUTATIONS ARE PRESENT? I BELIEVE FORD UNDERSTANDS THE POTENTIAL PROBLEM AND OMITS THE STEERING WHEEL ANGLE BECAUSE OF LIABILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS RENTED FROM HERTZ. THEY FAILED TO ADVISE THE CUSTOMER OF THE SLOW RESPONSE OF ELECTRONIC STEERING. SECOND: PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS POSITIONED HIGH AND THE HEADREST PROTRUDES, MAKING AN OCCUPANT OF AVERAGE SIZE 'SLOUCH' TO AVOID THE UNCOMFORTABLE STRAP. REGARDLESS, THE SEAT BELT TRAVELS ALONG THE PASSENGER'S NECK AND TIGHTENS WHEN THE VEHICLE OVERTURNS. THE 'ACCIDENT' CAUSED AN 85% CAROTID ARTERY DISSECTION. MY WIFE SPENT 10 DAYS IN A TRAUMA CENTER BECAUSE OF THIS HORRIBLY POSITIONED SEAT BELT AND UNRESPONSIVE STEERING. A FRIEND WHO HAS A DOCTORATE IN NURSING ADVISED US DURING THE HOSPITALIZATION. SHE RECENTLY RENTED A MUSTANG AND WAS WORRIED WHEN THE STRAP BISECTED HER THROAT. GO SIT IN ONE! IT'S ALL THE EVIDENCE YOU NEED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL DO NOTHING UNTIL THEY ARE PRESENTED WITH LEGAL PAPERS. I HAVE FORMALLY NOTIFIED THEM TO NO AVAIL. THEY DON'T CARE. THEY JUST KEEP BUILDING THEM. *TR
I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR... FIRST AT A LITTLE OVER 1000 MILES THE CAR WOULDN'T GO INTO FIRST OR REVERSE WITHOUT A LOT OF FORCING AND DOUBLE CLUTCHING... LOCAL DEALER SAID OF WE NEED TO SWAP YOUR TRANSMISSION FLUID TO FULL SYTHETIC AND IT'LL WORK LIKE NEW. THAT DID NOTHING SOON THE CAR WOULDN'T GO INTO FOURTH GEAR AND WOULDN'T DOWNSHIFT TO THIRD GEAR EITHER. IT WENT BACK TO.THE SHOP THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT BUT EVEN THE TECH SAID IT WASNT 100% FIXED AND THAT IT MAY PERIODICALLY MESS UP. SOON THERE REPAIRS GOT WORSE THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY LOCK REAR WHEELS DURING SIMPLE DOWNSHIFTS OR UPSHIFTS. THEY REPAIRED AGAIN. AT ONE POINT ON THE INTESTATE IT LOCKED UP AND THE PERSON BEHIND ME LOST CONTROLL AND SPUN INTO.THE GRASS OFF THE ROAD.. IT WENT IN AGAIN FOR REPAIRS THIS TIME THE CLUTCH NEEDED ADJUSTING AND THE FIXED SOME.FAILED PARTS... THEN THE REAR STARTED LEAKING THIS PAST THANKSGIVING AND I WAS STUCK.IN MYRTLE BEACH AND THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALER THERE AND THE PART THE NEEDED TO.FIX THE CAR WAS ON BACK ORDER. I'M A 22 YEAR OLD GUY WITH SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS TRYING TO.ENJOY.MYSELF BUT THE STRESS FROM THIS CAR IS KILLING ME AND THE CAR HAS CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN IT... TEST DRIVING 2011 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY COBRA GT 500. PULLED OUT OF PARKING LOT SLOWLY ONTO ROADWAY AND WHEN STRAIGHT DEPRESSED ACCELERATOR FOR HARD ACCELERATION. VEHICLE ACCELERATED FOR A FRACTION OF A SECOND, THEN BEGAN SPINNING BOTH REAR WHEELS AND VIOLENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING WENT OUT OF CONTROL AND SPUN AROUND IN ROAD HITTING CURB RESULTING IN SEVERE DAMAGE TO WHEELS, BODY AND SUSPENSION. VEHICLE TRAVELED APROX. 100 FEET FROM POINT WHERE THE VEHICLE ENTERED THE ROADWAY AND WHERE IT STRUCK CURB FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (ADVANCE TRAC) HAD NOT BEEN TURNED OFF. NO ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. VEHICLE REACHED SPEED OF APRX. 35 MPH AND WAS IN 1ST GEAR (MANUAL SHIFT) NO INJURIES TO DRIVER OR PASSENGER. TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILED TO PREVENT REAR WHEEL SPIN. ROAD WAS PAVED AND DRY. COULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERE INJURIES. WOULD NEVER HAD ATTEMPTED HARD ACCELERATION KNOWING SYSTEM WOULD NOT PREVENT WHEELSPIN AS ADVERTISED BY FORD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT500. AFTER DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT 35 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH FORCE, BOTH REAR WHEELS BEGAN TO SPIN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FISH TAIL AND SPIN OUT OF CONTROL.THE TRACTION CONTROL FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SETTLED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGED TO THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR $15,000. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD GIVE HIM A CALL WITHIN 24 HOURS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
