2019 Jeep Cherokee

I was involved in a single vehicle accident at 5 am on October 5, 2023 on a rural road in Deland, Florida. I was on an unfamiliar road with a sharp curve and as I was trying to slow down the I was unable to slow down or steer the vehicle. It slammed into a cluster of trees and immediately the engine caught fire. I crawled out of the vehicle in pain from the force of the crash and was disoriented. A good Samaritan came to my aide and called the Volusia County Sherriff. I can remember my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude was fully engulfed in very intense flames in less than 8 minutes. It was so intense it set fire to the wooded area. This wasn't the first problem I had with this vehicle. I purchased this vehicle new from a dealer in Bowie, MD in 2019. Since that time I replaced all 4 tires due to numerous flat tires starting around 20K miles. I replaced the battery at less than 25K miles. I had braking issues when going downhill in the Washington DC area which caused me to brake hard. I complained and the dealer said they did an inspection. I also had other auto service companies perform checks. I have most of the service records which have cost me so much. I am a disable Gulf War Veteran on a fixed income. I am now waiting for VIN verification by GEICO because the vehicle burned so hot that the engine block and everything metal (melted). Had I not gotten out so soon I would have burned to death.

Airbags did not deploy during MVA to passenger side front door that resulted in totaling of the vehicle

Airbags didn't deploy when I was hit by another driver whose speed was greater than 35mph n the other driver didn't break or slow down when hitting me on the driver n left passenger doors. I requested for my insurance company to preserve the vehicle for inspection but I don't know how long they can hold it because it was determined a TOTAL LOSS. When I was hit NONE of my airbags deployed n because of that, left side of my head n shoulder were slammed into driver's door. The vehicle was inspected by my insurance n a certified mechanic n due to impact n location of damage done to vehicle, both parties determined vehicle was TOTAL LOSS n couldn't b repaired. There were no warnings lamps or ANY messages n other symptoms of the problem prior to deployment failure.

The contact owned a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that after accelerating at 10 MPH from a stop sign, another oncoming vehicle ran the stop sign causing a T-bone collision. The contact's vehicle had front cosmetic damages. The air bags did not deploy. The Forward Collison Warning failed to activate and the display failed to indicate there was a vehicle too close. A police report was filed. There were no injuries reported. A driver and her child involved in the other vehicle sustained unknown injuries and received medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Was involved in a t-boned accident where the front end of my jeep stuck a vehicle in the side. The collision sensor did not activate nor did the air bags deploy. The other vehicle involved had airbags that deployed. The jeep is at my residence for inspection. With airbags not performing properly (faulty) this did not keep the upper body from jilting forward which causes head and shoulder issues. Insurance has not investigated neither did police. There was no warning lights or messages indicating that there was a problem prior to the accident.

Hard impact to front of car during an accident, car was totaled by insurance, air bag did not deploy on drivers side. No issues with the car or warning lights on before the accident. No indication the air bag was not working properly.

I was driving under the speed limit at night after work and a bull Elk piped out running at fun speed. I barely had a chance to put my foot on the break. I had to a head on collision. My 2019 Jeep trailhawk front airbag deployed. My driver side knee air bag blew my ACL. I no longer have one in my right knee. I have to get a new ACL from a donor “Cadaver” from my understanding the brand of knee airbag are recall. Takata brand. They explode when deployed. It caused multiple problems in my leg. I can’t walk

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 - 60 MPH, the vehicle crashed into a deer. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact sustained chest and back pain, but her daughter did not sustain any injuries. No medical attention was received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,555.

On Monday January 24, 2022 I was hit by a pickup truck and my steering wheel airbag did not deploy or inflate hardly at all. From inside and around that airbag it was what looked like smoke and it burned my coat and parts of my body. I also hit my nose and face on the steering wheel.

I was recently involved in a car accident in the beginning of December. A truck pulled out in front of me when I was going 50 mph and I hit him in the side and it caused a significant amount of damage to the my vehicle. The other persons insurance company totaled my vehicle because of the amount of damage. However, we were surprised that the airbags didn’t deploy. Nothing has been confirmed to have been wrong with them but hasn’t been looked into. The vehicle was just taken to a colission center for estimates. It could have helped with the impact. My knees hit the dash pretty hard, enough to bruise pretty bad and cause pain for a few days

COMING UP ON RED LIGHT I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. PREVIOUS WARNING OF AIRBAG SYSTEM ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO HERTZ. AIRBAG LIGHT WAS NOT ON BEFORE ACCIDENT.

RECENTLY PURCHASED 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE FWD AIRBAGS FAILED TO OPEN AFTER T-BONED CUSSING SIGNIFICANT INJURIES. TRAVELING THE SPEED LIMIT WHEN HIT BY AUTO RUNNING THE RED LIGHT. CAR WAS TOTALED OTHER DRIVER WAS A DUI FRONT PASSENGER LOWER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY.

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD JUMP OUT OF GEAR AND RPM'S WOULD GO UP. HAD TO TAP ON BRAKE TO GO BACK INTO GEAR. HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLASHED PER RECENT RECALL AND STILL DOES IT. 08/21/19 WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE 50MPH, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND NO BRAKES. VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD AND INTO SOME TREES (CRASH). THE DEALERSHIP SAID IF IT DIDN'T SHOW A CODE THAT I HAD TO CALL JEEP AND FILE A COMPLAINT. I HAVE DONE SO AND CHRYSLER HIRED BOSCH TO DOWNLOAD THE VEHICLE CRASH DATA TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP.

TAKATA RECALL I HAD WITNESSED MY AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOY, WHEN I WAS JUST INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT. BECAUSE I HAD UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHICH CAUSED ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO STOP AND WE WERE HIT ON THE SIDE AND OUR SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON OUR RIGHT SIDE. *DT*JB

WHILE JUST BEGINNING TO EXIT A FREEWAY, MY STEERING LOCKED UP COMPLETELY. I HAD NO CONTROL BUT RECALL SEEING A RED LIGHT JUST COMING ON THE DASH (OBVIOUSLY, I COULDN'T ASCERTAIN WHAT THEY LIGHT WAS AT THE TIME AS MY CAR WAS DOING MULTIPLE 360 SPINS DOWN THE EXIT RAMP!) TRY AS I MIGHT, I COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST TERRIFYING MOMENTS OF MY LIFE. AFTER COMING TO REST AGAINST A TRAFFIC SIGN, I WAS ABLE TO SEE THAT IT WAS AN ALERT FOR MY STEERING THAT HAD COME ON. IT REMAINED ON EVEN AS I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. I HAVE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE INJURIES TO MY HEAD, BACK, LEGS, WRIST, HIPS, SHOULDER AND HIP. THIS IS A MOST EGREGIOUS FAILURE AND I AM QUITE UNDERSTANDABLY RETICENT TO TRUST ANY VEHICLE WITH THIS COMPONENT. AFTER 1 WEEK, SILENCE IS THE ONLY SOUND I HAVE HEARD FROM EITHER THE DEALER OR CHRYSLER/JEEP. THIS SILENCE IS MOST DISTURBING. NO HELP FOR A RENTAL OR LOANER, AND AS AN INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING, EVEN MY OWN AUTO INSURANCE IS NOT PROVIDING ANY SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE, BUT THANKFULLY HAS STEPPED UP TO HELP WITH THE MEDICAL BILLS.*DT *DT*JB *DT *DT *DT*JB *DT*JB *JB *DT *DT MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO FIX THE STEERING.*JB *TR*JB *DT *TR *DT*DT*JB*JB*DT*JB*DT

RENTED VEHICLE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE GOING OUT OF TOWN. ON MY WAY TO HOUSTON. ON AN EXIT ON MY WAY TO PUT GAS TOOK THE EXIT AND THE JEEP COULD NOT BRAKE WAS WITH MY TWO KIDS. I TRIED TO BRAKE TRUCK DIDNT STOP ENDED UP FLIPPING OVER IN A DITCH. SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT. BROKEN ANKLE IMMEDIATE SUGERY PLATE 10 SCREWS. BROKEN FEMUR BONE. BROKEN RIBS. MY SON WAS AIRLIFTED TO SAN ANTONIO AND DAUGHTER IN ICU. TERRIBLE ACCIDENT I THANK GOD FOR GIVING US ANOTHER CHANCE. THE JEEP CHEROKEE BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND IT STALL IT COULDNT STOP AT ALL. IM AFRAID OF DRIVING MY LIFE HAS CHANGE DRAMATICALLY. ALSO MY SEATBELT GOT LOCKED I COULD HAVE DIED THEY HAD TO CUT IT W/ A KNIFE. WHILE DRIVING MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN COLORADO. THE ROADS WERE NOT ICY OR COVERED IN SNOW. TRAFFIC CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP IN FRONT OF ME. I PUT ON THE BRAKES, PUSHING DOWN ALL THE WAY AS FAST AS I COULD. THERE WAS CLOSE TO 2 CAR LENGTHS BETWEEN ME AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, BUT MY VEHICLE WAS TAKING FOREVER TO STOP. IT ULTIMATELY DID NOT STOP IN TIME AND I HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. BOTH THE VEHICLES WERE DAMAGED AND I BROKE MY HAND. THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS BRAKING IT FELT LIKE THE CAR SHOULD HAVE STOPPED A LOT QUICKER BUT IT JUST WAS NOT STOPPING. I SAW THERE HAS BEEN ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES ON THE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEES.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A METAL ON METAL SOUND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
