THE BRAKES ON THIS CAR HAVE BEEN REPLACED 8 TIMES AND EACH TIME WAS A PREMATURE WEARING AND MOST OF THE TIME COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I PAID $100.OO DEDUCTIBLE I THINK 5 TIMES. ON 4/11/00 THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY COVERED ITEM AND SO I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. THEN ON 6/28/00 THE NEW REASON THEY GAVE ME FOR THE PREMATURE WEARING WAS THAT I NEEDED HEAVY DUTY BRAKES ON THE REAR. I PAID $401.00 FOR THAT AND THEY COVERED THE FRONT BRAKES UNDER WARRANTY AT THIS TIME. I WAS ALSO TOLD NUMEREOUS TIMES IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT AND THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. IT IS STILL A CONSTANT PROBLEM AND NOW THEY HAVE GIVEN ME A NEW REASON FOR THE PREMATURE WEARING OF THE BRAKES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR FEAR THE BRAKES WILL GIVE OUT WHILE I AM GOING FAST. *AK

WE WERE TRAVELING ON I10 WEST BOUND ON FAIRLY GOOD PAVEMENT AT 70MPH AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL BROKE OFF. RESULTING IN A CRASH. WE HAD NO WORK DONE TO THE WHEELS SINCE THE CAR WAS DELIVERED FROM THE DEALER. WE HAD NO INDICTION THAT A PROBLEM EXISTED UNTIL THE FAILURE. TWO LUG S:BOLTS BROKE AND THE REMAINING FOUR WERE STRIPED AND BENT. I AM TRYING TO FIND IF THE LUGS: BOLTS ON THE OTHER WHEELS CAN BE TESTED FOR FRACTURES AND DETERMINE A CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. *AK

TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF THE OWNER OF A 1999 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH DOWNHILL, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REACHED SPEEDS OF BETWEEN 95-100 MPH BEFORE CRASHING INTO A BUILDING WITH AN ALUMINUM STRUCTURE. THE CRASH WAS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED LACERATION OVER THE RIGHT EYE WHICH REQUIRED SEVERAL STITCHES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED REGAL DODGE LOCATED AT 1223 BLUE VALLEY DR, PEN ARGYL, PA 18072, (610) 863-6900, WHERE IT WAS SCHEDULED TO BE DIAGNOSED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.

THE CONTACT AND ANOTHER PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR ABRASIONS AND INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK. THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND VEHICLE WAS INJURED BUT THE EXTENT OF THE INJURIES WAS UNKNOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED AS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 133,000. MY SPEED WAS UNDER 25 MPH AND WHEN I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES MY 1999 SUBURBAN 2WD WOULD NOT STOP. I APPLIED MY BRAKES WELL IN ADVANCE OF THE STOPPED VEHICLES, BUT MY SUBURBAN CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD WITH LITTLE OR NOT STOPPAGE. I TRIED TO DITCH THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT BUT COULD NOT DUE TO A TELEPHONE POLE, ROAD SIDE CEMETERY AND TREES. AT THE TIME I SAW THE ON COMING LEFT LANE DID NOT HAVE VEHICLES COMING SO I PULLED OUT INTO THAT LANE. I PASSED 2 OR 3 OF THE VEHICLE IN MY LANE BEFORE A VEHICLE TRAVELING IN THE LEFT LANE TOWARDS ME CAME. I TRIED TO STEER THE SUBURBAN TO THE LEFT INTO THE DITCH. I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND COLLIDED HEAD ON WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A 1999 SUBURBAN ON FEB. 28, 2004. WHEN WE TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE IT DID NOT SEEM TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. ON THE WAY HOME IT STARTED WANDERING ALL OVER THE ROAD AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK. WE THOUGHT MAYBE IT NEEDED POWER STEERING FLUID OR PERHAPS TIRES. ON MARCH 11, 2004(TWO WEEKS LATER) I WAS WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND GLANCED DOWN AT MY CLOCK. WHEN I LOOKED BACK UP THE VEHICLE HAD VEERED INTO THE WRONG LANE. WHEN I TRIED TO GET BACK INTO MY LANE THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED TO THE RIGHT, WAY OVER CORRECTING ITSSELF. THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO MY RECENT MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON MAY 8, 2003. THE OTHER DRIVER FAILED TO YIELD MY RIGHT AWAY. I WAS DRIVING A 1999 CHEVROLET SRUBURBAN. I SERVED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, INTO A RESIDENCE YARD, STRIKING A TREE HEAD ON AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE CORRESPONDED WITH GMC VIA E-MAIL UNTO NOT MY SATISFACTION. I REQUESTED MY VEHICLE HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION CONDUCTED, AS I WANTED TO KNOW WHY THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE BASICALLY BEEN TOLD BY GMC THAT IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FUNCTIONING IN THE DASHBOARD OF MY TRUCK THEN THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY AIR BAGS PER A CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGER AND THAT MY ACCIDENT DID NOT, MEET THE CRITERIA FOR AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. I HIGHLY DISAGREE WITH GMCS EXPLANATION AND CRITICIZE THE LACK OF PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMACY AND CONCERN. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED MORE FROM ONE OF THE BIG 3 AUTO CORPORATIONS. MY VEHICLE STRUCK A TREE WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO BEND THE FRONT LEFT FRAME RAIL. THE IMPACT ALSO WAS GREAT ENOUGH TO RAISE THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE OF THE GROUND AND SET IT DOWN A FOOT TO THE LEFT OF THE INITIAL IMPACT. THIS HAS ALSO LEFT ME WITH DOCUMENTED INJURIES CAUSING ME TO BE UNABLE TO WORK. MY CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLES AIR BAG SYSTEM HAS DIMINISHED TO SAY THE LEAST. THIS MATTER HAS NOT BEEN HANDLED NOR COMPLETED TO MY SATISFACTION. I EXPECTED AT LEAST AN OFFERING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION CONDUCTED. THIS WOULD ALLOW ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH SOME CONFIDENCE THAT THE SYSTEM WOULD WORK IN THE EVENT I NEED IT AGAIN. I AM AT A STAND STILL AND I AM POSITIVE I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST. I WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION RELATED TO FAILED AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND GMC CHEVY SURBURBAN. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS BRAKE JOBS DONE AT FENTON MOTORS. WHEN USING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WILL PULL TO THE RIGHT.WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN OVER SEVEN TIMES TO FIX THE BRAKES. THE BRAKES WILL WORK FOR AWHILE AND THEN THE SAME PROBLEMS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. FENTONS HAVE NOT BEEN VERY HELPFUL WITH THIS PROBLEM AND THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE LEMONED. I WOULD HATE FOR SOME NEW OWNER TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND POSSIBLE TO KILL SOMEONE OR BE KILLED BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES.*AK

60 MPH CROSS WIND BLEW THE SUBURBAN HEAD ON INTO THE CONCRETE MEDIAN. THE VEHICLE SPUN 360 DEGREES, WENT INTO THE DITCH, THE FRONT END HIT AGAIN THE VEHICLE WENT UP THE OTHER SIDE OF THE EMBANKMENT AND STOPPED IN A FIELD. ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE FRAME NOT REPAIRABLE, THE REAR PORTION OF THE FRAME BENT INTO A DIAMOND SHAPE. FRONT CROSSMEMBER BENT AND ENGINE MOVED UPWARDS AT A 10 DEGREE ANGLE. WHEN WITHOUT ANY SIGNS OF VEHICLE TROUBLE OR MALFUNCTION THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND MISTERIOUSLY WHEN OUT OF CONTROL AND SUBSEQUENTLY HITING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND RUNNING OFF THE HIGHWAY AND OVER TURNING AND COMING TO REST ON UPSIDE DOWN. THANKLY MY WIFE WAS WEARING HER SEATBEAT WHICH PROBABLY SAVED HER LIFE. ACCORDING TO THE HIGHWAY PATROLMAN THAT WAS AT THE ACCIDENT SCENE AND AND EYEWITNESS THE REAR AXLE ON OUR VEHICLE BROKE CAUSING A SUDDEN AND TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL. I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL TO GENERAL MOTOR CORPORATION REGARDING THIS ACCIDENT BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE AS OF YET. THIS WAS VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT HAS THE APPEARENCE OF A MANUFACTOR'S DEFECT. IT COULD HAVE ENDED IN TOTAL DEVISTATION HAD MY 3 YEAR SON OR MY 5 MONTH SON BEEN IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OR IF MY WIFE HAD NOT BEING WEARING A SEAT BELT . NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS ACCIDENT NEEDS TO BE THROUGHLY INVESTIGATED BY GM AND THE NHTSA. PLEASE CONTACT TO FURTHER DISCUSS THIS INCIDENT.
