Extended brake travel that caused me to get into a car accident. Also my airbag did not deploy causing me to have a serious headache. I had two people in the vehicle with me. I pushed down on the brake pedal and it felt like it wasn’t stopping or it was stopping very slowly. I was driving straight the person in the white pontiac was trying to turn left. I had the right away no yield or stop sign, but she pulled out in front of me. Driver was a 16 year old girl
on May 2021 accident happen prior to brake couldn't t brake as soon as it's pressed. it took long time after pressing the brake to come to complete stop. i contact silver spring ford to diagnose the recall issue but they insist I have to pay. i explained them it's on recall and the letter I received stated that diagnose and parts indicate free of charge but the are refused to perform the diagnosis and solve the issue.
Buying the 2009 Fusion understanding the power steering was faulty, thinking a good tune up and general fluids replaced would handle the problem. However this was not the case. Fusion needed rack n pinion and power steering pump. I can not drive the vehicle due to this issue(s) Their was a terrible bad accident and the vehicle is now salvaged title. This is now second time rack n pinion out and I will harm others and myself as I can not make turns. I am extremely disappointed with Ford MFG and will seek all monetary claims for not backing up their vehicles. Ashamed and less than is my thoughts on Ford Fusions!
MY DAUGHTER REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND PUSHED THAT VEHICLE INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE HER BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND FAILED TO STOP HER VEHICLE. SHE REPEATEDLY MASHED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH NO RESPONSE. THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED AND DID NOT. SHE WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 45-50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND TRAFFIC STOPPED IN FRONT OF HER. SHE WAS DRIVING CAREFULLY BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE CITY AND HAD BEEN RAINING. SHE WAS NOT FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY OR GOING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS. HER BRAKES FAILED. EVEN THOUGH FORD SAYS THIS VEHICLE IS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE PARTS COME IN FOR THE RECALL, IT IS NOT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO DRIVE UNTIL FORD CAN DO THE ISSUED RECALL FOR THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE VALVE. THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AS OF THE DAY I'M TYPING THIS COMPLAINT. RECALL NUMBER 19V-904. I HAVE MADE STATE FARM AWARE AND THEY ARE PERFORMING INVESTIGATIONS. I HAVE HIRED AN ATTORNEY BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER IS NOT AT FAULT. I HAVE REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO FORD AND THEY WERE NOT HELPFUL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FOR HER DAUGHTER AT J & J AUTO GROUP INC, 804 S CICERO AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60644, AND AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOT STUCK, HER DAUGHTER WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, HER DAUGHTER CRASHED INTO TWO VEHICLES THAT WERE PARK AND THEN RUN INTO A FENCE OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ONE OF THE VEHICLE THAT WAS PARK WAS TOTALED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER DAUGHTER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE, BRUISES TO THE ARM, CUT TO THE LEFT EYES, BACK, HEAD CONCUSSION AND THREE BROKEN RIBS ON THE LEFT SIDE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A POUND TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. ON THE AFTERNOON OF NOVEMBER 16, 2019, I WAS TRAVELLING THROUGH A SUBURB OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA. THE ROAD IS A 4 LANE ROAD, TWO IN EACH DIRECTION. IT IS HEAVILY TRAFFICKED. I WAS TRAVELLING IN THE LEFT HAND LANE HEADING WESTBOUND. TRAFFIC TO THE RIGHT WAS COMING TO A STOP, AS A CAR WAS STOPPED IN THE LANE WITH IT'S FOUR-WAY FLASHERS ON. THE LEFT HAND LANE WAS SLOWING TO A STOP AS A CAR WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC. I ATTEMPTED TO COME TO STOP. MY CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND I HAD USE BOTH FEET TO HOLD THE BREAK DOWN. AT THE TIME, I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT AND ASSUMED IT WAS BECAUSE MY CAR WAS GETTING OLD. MY CAR DID NOT STOP, DESPITE MY BEST EFFORTS. AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, I REAR-ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHICH THEN HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF THEM - THE ONE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC. THERE WAS MINIMAL DAMAGE ON ALL CARS INVOLVED. A MONTH TO TWO MONTHS LATER, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY ANTI-LOCK BREAK SYSTEM AND THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. AS THE INSURANCE CLAIM PROGRESSES, I WAS ADVISED BY MY ADJUSTER THAT I SHOULD REPORT THIS ACCIDENT TO NHTSA.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MPH DOWN A TWO LANE ROAD IN THE RIGHT LANE AND HE WENT TO STOP AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN HE HIT THE BRAKE PETAL, IT VIBRATES 4 TIMES AND THEN THE PETAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING AND HE COULD NOT SLOW DOWN OR STOP THE VEHICLE. SINCE THERE WAS A PEDESTRIAN TO HIS RIGHT ON THE SIDEWALK AND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM WAS SMALLER THAN HIS CAR, HE CHOSE TO DRIVE IN THE MIDDLE THROUGH THE TWO LANES OF VEHICLES. HE ENDED UP HITTING 3 OTHER VEHICLES BEFORE OUR CAR STOPPED. AFTER HE GOT HOME, WE CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS ON THE CAR SINCE WE WERE CONFUSED WHY THE BRAKES FAILED OUT OF NOWHERE SEEING AS WE HAD RECENTLY PUT BRAND NEW $80 BRAKES ON OUR CAR AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON THE ABS SYSTEM LAST JANUARY, BUT THERE IS NOT A REPLACEMENT PART YET AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THIS ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED DUE TO FAULTY PARTS THAT FORD MADE THIS VEHICLE WITH AND NOW MY CAR IS TOTALED AND I DID NOT HAVE COLLISION SO BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY ABS SYSTEM, I NOW HAVE NO CAR AND DAMAGED 3 OTHER PEOPLE'S CARS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TAKATA RECALL I HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR 3/28/19 WE HAD AN ACCIDENT ON 3/26/19 A CAR HIT US AT A RED LIGHT TOTALED THE CAR THE AIRBAG HIT ME IN THE CHEST BRUISES AND CUTS . THE CONTACT SLOWED DOWN, BUT THE DEER CHARGED AND COLLIDED WITH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MISSING AIR BAGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

I HAD A HISTORY OF RECURRING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2009 FUSION. THE BATTERY DIED OVER AND OVER AGAIN, CAUSING ME TO FINALLY REPLACE IT. THE CAR CONSTANTLY THREW ERRORS REGARDING LOW TIRE PRESSURE. BUT THE LARGEST PROBLEM HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY AT ROUGHLY 55 MPH AND THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AND LOCKED, CAUSING US TO HIT FIRST THE CONCRETE DIVIDER ON ONE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND RICOCHET ACROSS AND HIT THE METAL SAFETY RAIL ON THE OTHER SIDE. THE CAR WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO BRAKING. THE CAR HIT HEAD-ON BOTH TIMES AND WAS COMPLETELY TOTALED. I REMEMBER FRANTICALLY TRYING TO OPEN THE DOORS BECAUSE I WAS SURE WAS ABOUT TO EXPLODE. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE FOR ME BECAUSE THERE WAS LITERALLY NOTHING WE COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT IT. WE WEREN'T SPEEDING. THERE WAS NO INCLEMENT WEATHER. NO ONE WAS DISTRACTED BY THEIR PHONE OR THE RADIO. NO ONE FELL ASLEEP. A DRIVER BEHIND US WHO STOPPED DESCRIBED HOW THE CAR JUST SUDDENLY VEERED OUT OF CONTROL. IT IS DIFFICULT TO DESCRIBE THE TERROR YOU FEEL WHEN YOU ARE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A CAR THAT HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED RESPONDING TO ANYTHING YOU DO. IT IS SCARY TO THINK HOW EASILY WE COULD HAVE CRASHED THROUGH THE METAL GUARDRAIL AND FALLEN TO OUR DEATHS, YET THERE ISN'T EVEN A RECALL IN EFFECT. THIS VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING IN THE RIGHT LANE WHEN IT WAS RUN OFF THE INTERSTATE AT 75-80 MPH, IT WENT OFF THE RIGHT SHOULDER, CAME BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE, WENT INTO A SPIN, WENT OFF THE ROADWAY AT THE LEFT SHOULDER AND ROLLED OVER 1-2 TIMES IN THE MEDIAN BEFORE STRIKING THE INTERSTATE DIVIDING CABLE WHICH PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM ENTERING THE ONCOMING LANES OF TRAVEL. WE WERE LEGALLY STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION WAITING FOR THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US TO TURN LEFT. WE WERE REAR-ENDED BY A HIT AND RUN DRIVER ESTIMATED BY POLICE ON THE SCENE TO HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT 50 MPH. THE MAJORITY OF THE IMPACT WAS ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE. WE WERE PUSHED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US. UPON IMPACT, I WAS THRUST FORWARD, THEN BACKWARD, AND THE SEAT BACK BROKE. I WAS IN A RECLINING POSITION AFTER THE ACCIDENT. I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED BY TWO NEUROLOGISTS AS HAVING POST CONCUSSION SYNDROME, TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, AND VESTIBULAR DYSFUNCTION AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE ACCIDENT. AN INVESTIGATOR HIRED BY MY ATTORNEY CONCLUDED UPON INSPECTION OF THE CAR THAT THE SEAT BACK SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED.
