While commuting to work the car randomly caught fire lost brakes and steering
The contact owned a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 35-37 MPH, he saw an animal on the road and depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle responded with delay. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact swerved to avoid crashing into the animal, and the vehicle crashed into a telephone pole, then rolled over two times. The air bags deployed. The contact was able to exit the vehicle. The contact was examined by emergency units and was advised he had not sustained major injuries. The contact sustained whiplash, a laceration and bruise on the right knee, and a swollen neck. The contact was transported to the residence. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was totaled. The contact later received a recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) that he related to the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.
Seatbelt failed during collision did not lock fully extended and did not retract brakes did not engage right away
Ford Fusion was traveling about 40 miles per hours then driver pressed on the break pedal and the car while hearing breaks continued traveling 25- 30 feet. I was in the back and could clearly see the driver pressing on the break pad all the way down.
While riding in the above vehicle we were going about 40 miles per hour. Then about 50 feet in front of us there was a vehicle that was reversing. The driver hit the break very hard but the vehicle was not slowing down. While I understand that the recent recalls of 2013 - 208 Ford Fusion sedan were not for hybrid vehicles. I think the hybrid also have the same issue or have a different with the brakes of the car. It
While driving on the freeway lost control of steering, spun around into traffic when trying to switch lanes, and flipped over multiple times across the freeway without airbag deployment. My passenger and I suffered injury due to this. I am still going to physical therapy for my shoulder. No messages prior to the accident, I made sure to follow all safety precautions and take care of maintenance, and all safety recalls as soon as possible. The car has been sent over to the police and insurance company for further inspection.
I purchased the vehicle used from a local Mercedes dealership (April 2018) with multiple open recalls. One of the recalls was 16S42. On May 2, 2018, the vehicle was brought to a local Ford dealer where they "corrected" the open recalls. In February 2020, my wife was involved in a motor vehicle accident on the interstate. There was a construction zone that brought traffic to a stop and she was rear-ended by an SUV at speeds between 45-60 MPH totaling the vehicle while it was at a stop. She was the only occupant and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the cash. The airbags did not deploy and the driver seatbelt did not lock causing her head to strike the steering wheel. She didn't remember if she lost consciousness or not, however, she was later diagnosed with a concussion. The vehicle has since been totaled and was taken into possession by the insurance company. I am unaware of any inspection of the seatbelt that was performed after the crash. I do possess photographs of the vehicle. There were no warning lights active prior to the crash.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AND SUFFERED NUMEROUS INJURIES BECAUSE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. (I WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT). I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD FOR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A MAJOR COLLISION ON THURSDAY 8/27 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30PM. WHILE APPROACHING THE INTERSECTION TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS AND ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, BUT RATHER THAN SLOW DOWN, MY CAR ACCELERATED. WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY DOWN IT STILL CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL I HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH FINALLY STOPPED MY CAR. I AM LUCKY NO ONE INCLUDING MYSELF DIED- THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. FORD CONTINUES TO HAVE THESE ISSUES AND THEIR NEGLIGENCE IS GOING TO HARM MORE PEOPLE!
I REAR-ENDED A 2002 DODGE RAM. A GUY WAS MAD THAT I BLEW AT HIM BECAUSE HE SLEPT THE PREVIOUS TRAFFIC LIGHT AND SLAMMED ON BRAKES AT A GREEN TURNING ARROW AND I HIT HIM, HE KEPT GOING. MY WHOLE FRONT END IS DAMAGED. AIR BAGS SHOULD'VE COME OUT. *TR
A PRIOR COMPLAINT HAS BEEN MADE RELATIVE TO THIS VEHICLES STEERING ON OR ABOUT 30 DAYS PRIOR TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHICH OCCURRED TO THE STEERING. ENROUTE TO MY EMPLOYMENT. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR APPROX 5 MIN INTO MY DRIVE I TURNED AROUND IN A LOCAL DRIVEWAY TO PROCEED BACK TO MY RESIDENCE ON A STRAIGHT PAVED HIGHWAY WITH WET, DARK, DOWN-GRADE CONDITIONS THE VEHICLES STEERING INDICATOR LIGHTS SUDDENLY CAME ON AND THE VEHICLES STEERING TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT WITH HARDLY NO BRAKING ABILITY CAUSING MY VEH TO LEAVE THE ROADWAY TRAVELING ON SLICK WET GRASS DOWN-HILL 150' FT. STRIKING SEVERAL TREES CAUSING SERIOUS PERMANENT INJURIES FRACTURING MY RIGHT FEMUR AND HIP, ALONG WITH SIGNIFICANT HEAD INJURIES TO MY FOREHEAD. (1) DRIVER OCCUPANT. THE DRIVER AND SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, NO PASSENGER DEPLOYMENT. THE VEH HAD JUST BEEN ALIGNED ON 2 OCCASIONS WITH 4 NEW TIRES. THIS VEH NEEDS INVESTIGATED FULLY FOR MFG, DEFECTS AND RECALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO COME TO A STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN IT WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED FORWARD, CRASHED THROUGH A FENCE, DROVE THROUGH A NEARBY YARD, AND STRUCK ANOTHER FENCE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED TOTALED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE ARMS, LEGS, HEAD, AND BACK. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. WHILE DRIVING AT SIMILAR SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT IT WOULD COAST INTO A STOP INSTEAD OF STOPPING AS EXPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
I WAS IN A RECENT BAD CAR ACCIDENT WITH MY 2014 FORD FUSION.I WAS STATIONARY AT A RED LIGHT WHEN I WAS SUDDENLY HIT FROM THE REAR. I WAS TRYING TO SLOW DOWN ON A SMALL STREET TO MAKE A STOP, WHEN MY BRAKES WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. I LOOKED DOWN TO SEE WHY THEY WEREN'T WORKING AND WHEN I LOOKED BACK UP I WAS OUT INTO THE STREET AND GOT HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BY A CEMENT TRUCK. I WAS PUT AT FAULT EVEN THOUGH I ASSURED THEM THAT MY BRAKES WERE AT FAULT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT STOP OR SLOW DOWN WHEN I PUMPED THEM.
I WAS TRYING TO SLOW DOWN ON A STREET GOING TOWARDS GRAND AVENUE TO MAKE A STOP, WHEN MY BRAKES WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING SOUTHBOUND AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND MADE A U-TURN AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS, AND SIDE PASSENGER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND EMITTED A SUBSTANCE AND DEBRIS. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS SPUN AROUND. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED FACIAL INJURIES, BRUISES TO THE BODY, AND A CONCUSSION, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S FACE WAS BRUISED WHEN THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH FORCE FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V875000 (AIR BAGS). A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT
MY 2014 FORD FUSION STEERING WHEEL BECAME UNSTABLE AND I DRIFTED INTO A MANHOLE IN THE STREET. AND TOTALED MY CAR. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO FORD AS OF OCTOBER 2017
MY CAR VEERED OFF THE ROAD AND I HIT A CUT OFF TREE ABOUT THE DIAMETER OF A TELEPHONE POLE. IT HIT DEAD CENTER IN THE FRONT AND NOT ONE SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND THE SEATBELT LET ME FLY UP AND HIT MT HEAD VERY HARD ON SOMETHING.
"TAKATA RECALL" CONTROL MODULE DID NOT DETECT CAR THAT RAN INTO ME,WHEN THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IT SMASHING GLASS DEEP INTO MY EYELID AND FOREHEAD THAT SURGEONS DID NOT GET ALL OF THE GLASS OUT OF MY FACE DUE TO THE AIRBAG SMASHING IT SO DEEP INTO MY FACE.IN MOTION ON THE CITY STREETS
TAKATA RECALL THE 2014 FORD FUSION SE RENTAL CAR I WAS DRIVING ON 1/14/2015 WHILE DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON HALL STREET WITH CROSS STREET OF GRIMBLIN ROAD IN ST. LOUIS MO. I WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER DRIVER TRAVELING NORTHBOUND WHO MADE A U-TURN AND WHEN THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND EXPLODED CAUSING SHARDS OF GLASS AND OTHER FOREIGN MATTER TO BE EMBEDDED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY FACE, FOREHEAD, EYE. ALONG WITH EYELID LACERATION THAT REQUIRED STITCHES WITH GLASS STILL IN MY EYE. ALONG WITH DISFIGUREMENT WHERE MY EYE WAS STITCHED. DARK MARKS AND SCARS ON MY FACE AND EYE.
