The contact owned a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her son was driving 35 MPH, the steering wheel locked, became difficult to maneuver, causing the contact son vehicle to encounter a tree. No warning light was illuminated. The air bag did not deploy. The contacts son called 911 after the failure. The contact son sustained injuries to the chest, face, back of his neck, and his knees. A police report was filed. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was towed to Larry Campbell's Towing Garage. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The vehicle's steering wheel was repaired once. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and closed contact case due to not being able to obtain the vehicle to remove a part of the vehicle. The failure mileage was 189,000.
I was driving my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid down the highway when suddenly i was unable to steer anymore. I was changing lanes and the wheel locked at an angle causing me to cross multiple lanes of traffic and eventually hitting another car. The car ended up being claimed as a total loss. I am still required to pay more for insurance now because the accident was caused because of my cars steering rack failing and locking. There have been hundreds of complaints describing exactly what happened to me. No warning lights or any other warning signs. Just sudden and total failure. Its more upsetting knowing that the 2011 and 2012 model years had a recall for this but the 2010 did not even though the steering rack has the same exact part numbers. Insurance didnt even do an investigationand i was told it was because theres no way to investigate it after the crash which i know is a lie. I absolutely hate the fact that im still affected by this financially and ford doesnt care at all about the people it has happened to.
After taking my car in for the recall on the Hydraulic system on the brakes which it them for ever to send out the second letter for the repairs. During the waiting period I had to leave the road to keep from hitting someone because of brake failure. I have notify Ford Motor Company of the problem right after they sent the first letter. I had damaged to my car that they refused to help with. They sent me a form to sign that said I would not hold Ford Motor Company responsible or Ford Techs should they damaged the RCM when removing to send to their labs. Which I refused to sign because I did talk to a mechanic that worked Ford motor. He stated that the slight wrong move or bump could damaged the main board and it was an very expensive part. Ford Motor Company resolution to fix the recall problem was to bleed out the DOT 3 brake fluid and replace it with DOT 4. I still have brake issue if I am driving in the rain or hit a bump in the road. Now I am having a problem with brake fluid leaking since they switched the fluid. I am going to have a mechanic check to see were the leak is coming from. We own this car 10 years and was satisfied with the car and kept it when we purchased an SUV. Good motor in the car. After dealing with Ford Motor Company about the accident with my car and the other recalls I regret we did not trade it in, but I would have more regret selling it to someone knowing that it could be a danger to their life as it was mine. Even though the car does have a good motor I will never purchase another Ford or purchase and make of any car from any Ford dealership due to the way Ford Motor Company handle my brake recall that cost me money to have the repairs to my 2010 Ford Fusion.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While attempting to park his vehicle, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard and failed to stop as needed. The ABS warning light had remained illuminated on the instrument panel for years prior to the failure. As a result of the failure, the contact hit a steel door which damaged both the door and the front end of his vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact experienced pain to his lower back but did not seek medical attention. Police were called to the scene and a police report was filed. The contact was able to drive away from the scene but continued to experience brake failure. He would also have to use his emergency brake to stop the vehicle as the ABS warning light continued to illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where he was informed that a defective brake module caused the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed him that his vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 250,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contacts daughter stated while driving at approximately 40 mph when the vehicle was struck from behind which resulted in none of the air bags inflating with the exception of the driver-side airbag which only partially inflated. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. The contact's daughter sustained head and neck injuries and sought medical treatment. A police report was taken and the vehicle was towed to a local police lot. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable. The power steering warning light was illuminated as well as brakes seizing. Airbags did not deployed.
I purchased this vehicle March 24th and was not aware of the airbag recall that would be issued the next day. I called the Ford dealer in Bloomington, IL in regards to the recall I was aware of on March 23rd and was told that the recall was on backorder and they had no information about when it would be available. I was not informed of any safety concerns in purchasing or driving the vehicle. On May 16, my daughter was in an accident driving this vehicle. She was hit directly on the driver side. The airbags did not deploy. Her forehead broke the driver side window resulting in cuts to her head, eyelid and concussion. The police officer who responded to the scene said that he was surprised the airbags did not go off in this severe of a crash. My car insurance has determined the vehicle a total loss. Title is being turned over to State Farm.

The air bags failed to deploy. There was no medical treatment at the scene however, the contact went to see a doctor the next day for neck and lower back pain. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact was concerned that the failure was related to the recent recall repair that was performed on the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000.
