TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ENGINE MISFIRED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. AS A RESULT, SMOKE STARTED TO EMIT FROM THE DASHBOARD. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND ALL FIVE PASSENGERS SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD, BUT IT WAS NOT INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND 1 VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME ABOUT 3 TO 4 CAR LENGTHS. THE WOMAN WAS GOING SAME SPEED, I LOOKED TO MY RIGHT TO ASSURE A DOG WAS NOT GOING TO RUN INTO THE STRRET, 2 SECONDS, AN LOOKED BACK AT ROAD AND PERSON IN FRONT HAD STOPPED, WITH NO TURN SIGNAL ON AND NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I FIRMLY APPLIED BRAKES AND TRIED TO VEER AROUND THE CAR BUT THERE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT SPACE AND HIT THE BACK OF CAR SO HARD IT TOSSED AROUND ITEMS IN THE CAR BREAKING FRONT WINDSHIELD, KNOCKING OFF MY GLASSES. THE FORCE WAS SO HARD IT THRUST MY BODY HARD ONTO STEERING WHEEL AND LEG INTO DASH. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY FOR DRIVER OR PASSENGER. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT HOLD MY BODY TO THE SEAT. I HAVE A VERY SERIOUS CONTUSION ON LEFT LEG WHERE PUTTING WEIGHT ON THE LEG IS TERRIBLE PAIN. I HAVE A FRACTURED STURNUM(CHESTBONE) MAKING BREATHING, WALKING, GETTING UP OR DOWN, REACHING FOR SOMETHING EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND EXTREMELY PAINFUL. YOUR SITE BY VIN NUMBER STATES THERE WAS A RECALL ON AIRBAGS, I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE OF A RECALL ON AIRBAGS OR SEATBELT. I PHONED LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR HISTORY AND THEY REPORTED THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I TALKED WITH INSURACE AGENT AND AN ATTORNEY AND THEY HAD NO INFORMATION OF RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE, BUT I DO KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG AS EITHER THE AIRBAG OR SEAT BELT SHOULD HAVE PREVENTED ME FROM BEING THRUST FORWARD SO HARD TO FRACTURE MY STERNUM AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO LEFT KNEE. I WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY THE AIRBAG AND SEATBELT DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. I DONT BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE. PLEASE CONDUCT THE INVESTIGATION.
AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING HEAD ON COLLISION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND SWITCHING THE TRANSMISSION TO THE PARK POSITION, THE CONTACT STEPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS IT ERRONEOUSLY ROLLED BACKWARDS. AS A RESULT, THE OPEN DRIVER DOOR STRUCK A WOODEN GATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INTO THE ROLLING VEHICLE AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE MINOR INJURIES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE IN MY GARAGE, I NEEDED TO GO BACK INTO THE HOUSE TO GET SOMETHING. I SHIFTED THE CAR TO PARK TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING. WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE THE CAR PROCEEDED TO ROLL BACKWARDS OUT OF THE GARAGE. THE GARAGE IS ON LEVEL GROUND. I ATTEMPTED TO GET BACK INTO THE CAR TO PRESS THE BRAKE. I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL, AND WAS DRAGGED OUT OF THE GARAGE. AFTER BEING DRAGGED THROUGH THE GARAGE I ENDED UP PARTIALLY UNDER THE CAR, I LET GO OF THE CAR AND ROLLED AWAY NOT TO BE RAN OVER BY THE STILL MOVING CAR. I THEN GOT UP AND RAN AFTER THE CAR THAT WAS GOING DOWN MY DECLINE DRIVEWAY. WHEN I GOT INTO THE MOVING CAR I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND SHIFTED THE CAR FROM "DRIVE" TO "PARK". THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE DONE TO THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR. THE GARAGE DOOR/FRAME WAS DAMAGED AS WELL. I HAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED AN AMBULANCE.

MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN THE PARK GEAR AND THE WHEELS WHERE MOVING. THE VEHICLE SPUN AND WENT INTO THE WOODS AND THEN CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A LEFT LEG INJURY THAT REQUIRED IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE IMPOUND LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I was coming out of a drive thru car wash and driving towards an intersection with Rail road tracks on the road getting ready to turn left going 15 to 20 mph. As I turned my vehicle began skidding causing me to loose control and hitting 2 vehicles head on . I believe if my traction control (stability control) system or abs were functioning correctly this could have been avoided.
I bought this vehicle brand new. Many issues right from the start. Right off the bat the vehicle would randomly accelerate while driving or just stall while on the highway. I had a wreck when the car was less than 3 months old. I stepped on the break and the car accelerated into on coming traffic and I hit a vehicle. I took it into the dealership many times reporting this problem to the service techs and they dismissed it that my car was "learning me" and was not "broken in" yet. Along with engine ticking and engine lights coming on I have had so many issues with this vehicle.
I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY, PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, LEFT THE VEHICLE RUNNING, AND WENT INTO THE HOUSE. I WAS INSIDE THE HOUSE LESS THAN 10 MINUTES WHEN A NEIGHBOR KNOCKED ON THE DOOR STATING A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HER HOUSE. WE IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF TO PREVENT ANY OTHER DAMAGE TO THE HOUSE. WE CONTACTED THE POLICE DEPT FOR A REPORT. ONCE THE REPORT WAS COMPLETED BY POLICE, A TOW TRUCK WAS CONTACTED TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON TO ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION, THE OFFICERS FOUND THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN THE PARKED STATUS. WE BELIEVE THE VEHICLE ROLLED INTO THE NEIGHBORING HOUSE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS IN PARK. DODGE HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN REQUESTED TO VALIDATE THE MECHANICAL INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE. *DT*JB *DT*JB
I'VE NOTICE THAT WHEN I'M DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS OR AROUND THE CITY, WIPERS COME ON BY ITSELF. THAT HAPPEN TWICE... SOMETIMES THE SUNROOF DON'T OPEN, WHEN THE SUNROOF OPENS DON'T WANT TO CLOSE SOMETIMES. WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY CAN'T SEEM TO GET ENOUGH POWER TO CATCH UP WITH TRAFFIC, SEEMS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT TO GIVE OUT. VERY LAGGY....THE NOTIFICATION FOR ENGINE/TRANS COMES OFF/ON AT TIMES. OTHER TO SOUND WEIRD BUT I BELIEVE SOMEONE HAS ACCESS REMOTELY TO VEHICLE. ALL THIS HAPPENS ON A DAILY OR EVERY FEW DAYS I'VE NOTICED.

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STATION CHRYSLER JEEP OF MANSFIELD (91 CHAUNCY ST, MANSFIELD, MA 02048), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,498. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, BUT RUNNING, IN MY DRIVEWAY. GOT OUT TO LET PASSENGERS OUT. TURNED AROUND TO GET BACK IN AND CAR STARTED DRIVING ITSELF FORWARD, ALMOST HITTING MY CHILD. MANAGED TO JUMP IN AND STOP IT AFTER IT HIT MY HUSBAND'S CAR WITH THE OPEN DRIVER DOOR. THE SHIFTER KNOB HAS MOVED ITSELF INTO THE DRIVE POSITION AND ACTUALLY SHIFTED GEARS WITHOUT THE BRAKE BEING PRESSED.

ROLLAWAY ACCIDENT. IN 2015 I HAD AN ACCIDENT WHERE MY VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS PLACED ON. I CONTACTED FODGE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THAT ALTHIUGH THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHY MAY HAVE BEEN ON THAT IF THE BRAKE WAS NOT DEPRESSED.COMPLETELY TO THE GROUND THE BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED.
ELECTRONIC SHIFTER/ PLACED IN PARK WHILE ENGINE WAS ON / WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY OF OUR HOME AND SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AUTOMATICALLY MOVED FORWARD AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND GARAGE. ( WAS REPORTED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY/ ADJUSTER HAS COMPLETED THE DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLE AND HOME).
I STOPPED A THE LIGHT WITH NO ISSUE AND ONCE TRAFFIC BEGIN TO MOVE THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME PLACED THEIR FOOT ON BRAKES AT ABOUT 20-25. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NEXT BLOCK AND I DID AS WELL BUT THE BRAKES DID NOTHING BUT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. MY FOOT IS ALL THE WAY DOWN AND STILL NO STOPPING. I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND AS SHE MOVED TO THE LEFT MY TRUCK WAS STILL IN MOTION AND ENDED UP HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER AS WELL WHICH IS WHAT ACTUALLY STOPPED MY TRUCK. THE AIRBAGS ALSO NEVER DEPLOYED IN THE TRUCK. THE WERE THANKFULLY NO PHYSICAL INJURIES BUT DAMAGE TO THE CARS I HIT AS WELL AS MY OWN. THIS WAS A MECHANICAL FAILURE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY HAD I BEEN ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHERE I WAS INDEED HEADED.
