THE FORD EXPLORER HAD THE CORRECT TIRES ON IT- THE DRIVER TURNED THE WHEEL SHARPLY, THE BACK TIRED LIFTED AND THE EXPLORER STARTED TO ROLL, IT ROLLED 7 TIMES RESULTING IN 1 DEATH, 1 CRITICALLY INJURED AND 3 OTHERS WITH INJURIES. THE FORD EXPLORER WAS SAID TO ROLL FROM THE TIRES, THIS EXPLORER HAD THE CORRECT TIRES ON IT AND IT STILL ROLLED TOO EASILY. *AK

A BLOWOUT ACCURRED ON THE DRIVER'S FRONT TIRE AND A SEPARATION OF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE, FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT 25570R16, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL, EXPLORER ROLLED OVER, THE OWNER, A PASSENGER AT THE TIME WAS KILLED, MOTHER, DRIVER OF VEHICLE AND FATHER BOTH SERIOUSLY INJURED. TOOK SEAT BELT TO BE REPAIRED 3 OR 4 TIMES AND ENDED UP BEING ORDERED AND WRECKED BEFORE GETTING IT REPLACED. TIRE ON RIGHT REAR SHREDDED AND FRONT RIGHT AND LEFT REAR BLEWOUT. WHILE DRIVING 65MPH REAR PASSENGER'S TIRE SEPARATED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SKID OUT OF CONTROL, AND EVENTUALLY ROLLOVER, RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES AND A FATALITY. TIRE SIZE P235 ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 98 EXPLORER. CONSUMER HAD JUST REPLACED THE 3RD ORIGINAL TIRE 2 DAYS PRIOR, 4TH TIRE WAS CHECKED, THE TIRE S/N IS W2HL1PY247, THE 4TH TIRE ORIGINAL WAS THE TIRE THAT THE TREAD BLEW AND CAUSED THE ACCIDENT, POLICE REPORT #2000-032297 TIRE SIZE P235/75R15. *AK *MJS
I WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL CAR ACCIDENT. I WAS THE DRIVER HEADING WEST ON THE 202 FREEWAY IN PHOENIX ARIZONA. I MERGED INTO THE 10 FREEWAY NEAR 16TH STREET WHEN MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE TREAD PEELED OFF. THIS CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY FORD EXPLORER VEHICLE. WITH THE LOST OF CONTROL THE VEHICLE ROLLED ABOUT 4 TO 5 TIMES. CAUSING THE DEATH OF MY FRIEND (PASSENGER) AND MY YORKSHIRE TERRIER DOG ROLLED OUT AND RAN UNABLE TO BE FOUND. THE FRONT PANEL GET BROKE, THE STEREO FLU TO THE FRONT HITTING THE DRIVER. AND THE AIR BAG "DO NOT OPEN" DRIVER COULD BE INJURED ON THE FACE AND AT THE ARMS. ALSO THE DRIVER SEAT IS BROKE IN THE BACK
TIRE - TREAD SEPARATION VEHICLE - FORD EXPLORER (1998) TIRES - FIRESTONE (PURCHASED SOMEWHERE IN THE 2003-2005 TIMEFRAME). THESE TIRES WERE SNOW TIRES AND ARE USED ONLY A FEW MONTHS OUT OF EACH YEAR, SO THERE IS LOW MILEAGE ON THEM. AT APPROXIMATELY 1 PM, MY DAUGHTER LEFT A SCHOOL FUNCTION IN BURBANK, WA, AND TURNED ONTO HIGHWAY 12. SHE ACCELERATED; ABOUT 100 YARDS LATER, JUST AS SHE REACHED THE SNAKE RIVER BRIDGE, THE LEFT REAR TIRE LOST ITS TREAD. SHE WAS GOING LESS THAN 50 MPH. THE CAR WAS UNCONTROLLABLE, SPUN AROUND, AND SMASHED INTO THE CONCRETE BARRIER OF THE BRIDGE. THE CAR WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED (TOTALED). NO OTHER CARS WERE INVOLVED. *TR
