TAKARA RECALL ..FRONT AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN ACCIDENT. I WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC WHEN A CAR STRUCK ME FROM BEHIND GOING HIGHWAY SPEED , IMPACT CAUSED THE CAR TO GET STUCK IN MY TRUNK PUSHED ME DOWN THE HIGHWAY SIDEWAYS AND STUFFED THE NOSE OF MY CAR INTO THE GUARDRAIL BREAKING THE GUARDRAIL , QUICK THINKING SAVED OUR LIVES ( MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT )I SAW THE CAR COMING FULL HIGHWAY SPEED AND NOSED MY CAR INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE TO AVOID GETTING STUFFED UNDER THE TRUCK INFRONT OF ME. THE CAR WAS A COMPLETE LOSS, I ENDED UP WITH A CONCUSSION, TORN ROTATOR CUFF, FRACTURES IN MY RIGHT ARM AND RIGHT KNEE, CHRONIC HEADACHES, AND PARANOIA OF DRIVING.. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN THE BACKSEAT BECAUSE THE REAR SEAT BROKE FROM IMPACT WITH THE SPARE TIRE.

IN JULY OF 2005 I WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FACT I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THIS VEHICLE. I DID NOT REALIZE AT THE TIME THAT I HAD THE ABILITY TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO A FEDERAL SAFETY ORGANIZATION. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOW HAD 5 BRAKE JOBS, THE LAST BEING TODAY. THE FRONT ROTORS HAD TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP AND HAD SEVERE VIBRATION DURING BRAKING. THE MILEAGE ON THIS VEHICLE IS 101000 MILES. AT THE LAST BRAKE OVERHAUL IT WAS NOTED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING, ( THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED TO ME THIS WAY NEW) THIS PROBLEM WAS REPORTED AS REPAIRED. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM GAMBLIN MOTORS IN APR 1999 AND AS I HAVE STATED 5 BRAKE REPAIRS IN 101000 MILES. IN JULY 2005 THE REASON I REAR ENDED A VEHICLE WAS I WAS UNABLE TO STOP DUE TO POOR BRAKING ACTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD 3 SETS OF FRONT ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS AND THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN TURNED (TRUED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS). I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND IT HAS BEEN DISREGARDED. THIS MAY BE BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT WAS BECAUSE OF COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKS THAT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. *NM

ON AUGUST 30,2002 I WAS IN A CURVE AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AND UPON BRAKING THE CAR SLID AND WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED. THE FIRST TWO TIMES I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. AFTER THE ACCIDENT ON THE THIRD TIME A MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE CAR AND TOLD ME THAT THE ROTORS AND DRUMS WERE OUT OF ROUND AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE CAR ONLY HAD 41000 MILES ON IT AND HAD ALREADY HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED TWICE. *JB

MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN I WAS IN A 50 MPH HEAD ON CRASH. ONE CAR ACCIDENT AGAINST A MEDIUM WHICH LED TO PAIN IN MY NECK, CHEST, AND LOWER BACK. I WAS GOING HOME IN LEFT LANE AND TWO SPEEDING CARS PAST ME AND CUT ME OFF, DIDN'T STOP AND I HIT A METAL RAIL. I'M VERY UPSET BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THE CAR IS A 99 CHEVROLET MALIBU WHICH WE PURCHASED FROM CARMAX AND THEY SAID THEY SOLD US A CAR WITH NO DEFECTS. WHERE DO SEARCH FOR ANSWERS? THE CAR IS REPARABLE BUT MIGHT NOT BE IN THE SAME CONDITION WHEN I GET IT BACK. I'M VERY HAPPY I DIDN'T HAVE MY CHILDREN IN THAT CAR THEN. *NLM

PURCHASED VEHICLE 5/04/01. HAD TO RETURN 2 DAYS LATER FOR MELTED BRAKE LIGHT SOCKETS ON LEFT REAR. BULBS WERE REPLACED. MELTED AGAIN WITHIN 3 WEEKS. WENT BACK TO DEALER, WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T CHECK IT THEY WERE TOO BUSY. MADE APPOINTMENT TO HAVE FIXED. THEY REPLACED BULBS AND REWORKED SOCKET BUT IT STILL FAILED. THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO. I HAVE REPLACED BULBS ON AVERAGE EVERY 2-3 WEEKS. I THINK THEY HAVE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT CAUSING THE BULBS TO MELT THE SOCKETS. NOW THE TURN SIGNAL AND BACK-UP LIGHTS ARE STARTING TO MELT. THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT ALSO WORKS SPORADICALLY. FRONT BRAKES SHUDDER WHEN APPLIED AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ROTORS WERE CUT. STILL HAVING SHUDDER AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCES.*AK

ON 3/1100 AT ABOUT 6:35PM, I WAS COMING FROM DALLAS TO HOUSTON.JUST BEFORE WYLLIS MY CAR WENT TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL AFTER MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT TO PIECES. ACCORDING TO WITNESSES,MY CAR WAS ALL OVER BOTH HIGHWAYS,ALMOST BEEN KILLED BY TWO 18 WHEELERS AND ALTIMATELY CRASHING ON A GUARD ON THE SOUTH DIRECTION.I LOST CONSCIENCE AND WHEN I CAME TO I SAW ALOT OF PEOPLE OVER ME AND THEN TAKEN TO THE FIRST EMERGENCY.AFTER THAT I WAS SENT TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL EMERGENCY & AFTER 3 DAYS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE I WAS IN A ROOM WHERE I STAYED ABOUT 9 DAYS.I SUSTAINED A FRACTURED NECK,OPEN SCAL,BROKEN RIGHT-SHOULDER,KNEE AND A VERY BRUISED & SWOLLEN LEFT WRIST BUT NOT BROKEN.GIVEN THE FACTS (WHICH CAN ALL BE SUBSTANTIATED BY MY DEALER'S RECORDS) THE MAINTENANCE OF MY CAR AND TIRES WERE UP TO THE MINUTE.WE WERE TOLD NOTHING WAS LEFT FROM THE TIRE AND THE PICTURES TAKEN SHOW THE BEAR WELL OF THE TIRE ALL TWISTED.THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT I CAME VERY CLOSE TO BEEN KILLED,AS A RESULT OF A BAD TIRE.I CONTACTED FIRESTONE AND THROUGH AGENTS I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD NO CLAIM SINCE I DID NOT HAVE THE TIRE. *AK (TIRESIZE: P215/60R15)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P215/60R15 )

AUTO TAKEN TO PERFORMANCE CHEV. EAST MEADOW, NY FOR REPAIR INVOICE #CVCS28103. THEY STATE ON THE REPAIR ORDER THAT THE LOOSE PART COULD HAVE ONLY COME FROM THE ASSEMBLY LINE MISTAKE. THE LOOSE BOLT LOCKED THE REAR WHEEL AT HIGHWAY SPEED, CAUSING THE CAR TO VEER OFF THE HIGHWAY.
