AT THAT MOMENT THE VEHICLE NO LONGER HAD TRACTION NOR WAS THE BRAKING SYSTEM EFFECTIVE. AT THAT MOMENT THE CAR VEERED LEFT RESULTING IN THE MALIBU HITTING THE CENTER MEDIAN TOTALLING THE FRONT END. I SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES BUT MY BROTHER BROKE HIS ARM.

THAT MORNING ABOUT 10:30 AM, TRAFFIC WAS SLOWING DURING LIGHT RAINY ROAD CONDITIONS ON INTERSTATE 70, WESTBOUND, IN ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI, WHEN THE DRIVER OF THE CAR IN WHICH I WAS THE ONLY PASSENGER, APPLIED HIS BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN AND SLID INTO THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF US, COLLIDING THE FRONT END OF THE MALIBU INTO THE REAR END OF THE MAZDA SEDAN IN FRONT OF US, TWICE IMPACTING THE MAZDA SEDAN, TOTALING THE CHEVROLET MALIBU IN WHICH I WAS THE PASSENGER. AT NO TIME DID ANY AIR BAGS IN THE MALIBU DEPLOY. I SUFFERED A TORN MENISCUS IN MY LEFT KNEE WHICH REMAINS SCARRED AND PERIODICALLY PAINFUL. THE TWO PASSENGERS IN THE MAZDA MAY HAVE BEEN INJURED, AS WELL. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED BUT NOT AT THE ACCIDENT SCENE. A MISSOURI HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICER WAS DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE. SINCE MY 2007 MALIBU LEASE BEGAN, I HAVE COMPLAINED THE FRONT END DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT AND TOOK IT IN FOR THIS EVEN. BUT IN JUNE 2010, DRIVING ON HIGHWAY - IT WAS RAINING, MY CAR BEGAN TO FISHTAIL, I WAS NOT WORRIED, I PULLED OUT NO PROBLEM, AGAIN- IT DID THIS, NO PROBLEM BUT SUDDENLY THE STEERING WHEEL VERY QUICKLY STARTED JERKING BACK AND FORTH AND I COULDN'T HOLD ONTO IT, IT MOVED SO FAST !!. THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED SPINNING THEN AND OF COURSE SO DID MY CAR. I'M A SEASONED DRIVER WITH NO ACCIDENTS BEFORE. I REALLY FEEL THAT IF THE STEERING WHEEL HAD NOT DONE THAT, I WOULD NOT HAVE CRASHED. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF EITHER MY CAR AND I WERE THE ONLY ONES INJURED. MY INSURANCE TOLD ME NO NEED TO CALL POLICE. *TR

THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WHENEVER THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE, THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR. THE FAILURE RESULTED IN A CRASH ON ONE OCCASION. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE AMBULANCE AND POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I WAS DRIVING A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU UNDERCOVER POLICE CAR. I WAS CHASING AN ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND WAS DRIVING 53 MPH ACCORDING TO THE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION. I LEFT SOLID DARK BLACK SKID MARKS FOR OVER A HUNDRED FEET PRIOR TO MY IMPACT. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED AND THERE WAS NO DISCERNIBLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING AN ONE NOT EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. AFTER ABOUT EIGHTY FEET OF SOLID SKID AND NO STEERING CONTROL, I WAS FORCED TO RELEASE THE BRAKE PEDDLE SLIGHTLY TO GAIN STEERING SO I WOULD NOT STRIKE THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SQUARELY ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, POSSIBLY KILLING THE ELDERLY DRIVER, WHO RAN A STOP SIGN IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND AIR LIFTED TO THE HOSPITAL DUE TO MY INJURIES. *TR

I was driving in the country and my vehicle power steering and electronic setting started messing up while I was driving 50 miles an hour while it was locking up I was confused and then pulled over and thought it was just a glitch in the computer system I then turned off my car and then turned it back on and everything seemed fine while I was driving after a minute the steering wheel locked again and there was a deer in front of me my insurance went up because of this incident and I lost my car for a month once I got my car again from the body shop it stopped locking up on the steering wheel then last Friday I brought it to the mechanic and he told me the steering is electronic so there is nothing he can do and that I will have to take it to a dealer the computer system in these cars are messed up and they are dangerous to drive there are thousands of complaints just like this and recalls for GM but for some reason the 2007 Chevy Malibu didn't make the cut.
