CAR WAS FORCED OFF ROAD THEN ROLLED OVER INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. *TR
MY BOYFRIEND WAS KILLED IN A CAR ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THE CAR FLIPPED AND HIT A TREE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *TR
A CHURCH VAN WAS PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AND FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY. WE T-BONED THEM GOING 35MPH. WE HIT THEM INCREDIBLY HARD AND YET THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY! FOUR OF THEIR PASSENGERS WERE SENT TO THE HOSPITAL IN THE AMBULANCE AND THE TWO OF US IN THE MALIBU WENT LATER. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND THE CHURCH VAN HAD SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AS WELL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE IGNITION FAILED TO TURN OVER. AFTER BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE DRIVER SUFFERED KNEE INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A LOCAL TECHNICIAN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
APPROACHED INTERSECTION IN TURNING LANE TO MAKE LEFT TURN. UPON MAKING SUCH TURN, VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE AS FAST AS IT SHOULD. WAS TOLD SECOND DRIVER RAN RED LIGHT AND COLLIDED WITH MY VEHICLE IN A HEAD ON COLLISION. I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I REMEMBER HEARING THE CRASH AND THE CAR SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL. BOTH AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY, AS I WAS FLOATING OVER THE GEAR SHIFT. WAS TOLD AT THE SCENE LEFT LEG WAS BROKEN AT THE ANKLE PER PARAMEDIC. RIGHT LEG WAS CONFIRMED BROKEN AT THE ANKLE AT THE HOSPITAL. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT, I HAD A BURN MARK THAT LASTED ALMOST SIX MONTHS. I SPENT 22 DAYS IN THE HOSPITAL, I STARTED AS ORTHO-TRAUMA, WENT TO SURGERY THE NEXT DAY TO REPAIR MY LEFT LEG WITH 1 PLATE AND 8 SCREWS. THREE DAYS LATER, I HAD COMPLICATIONS FROM MY INJURIES. I WENT TO PULMONARY ICU (PICU). TWO DAYS AFTER BEING STABILIZED, I WENT BACK TO SURGERY TO REPAIR MY RIGHT LEG WITH 2 PLATES AND 10 SCREWS. IT TOOK 10 MONTHS TO BE ABLE TO WALK AGAIN, WITH A CANE AND A LIMP... RIGHT LEG IS NOTICEABLY SHORTER THAN MY LEFT IT TOOK A YEAR TO HAVE FEELING TO THE TOP OF MY RIGHT FOOT AT MY BIG TOE. I HAVE LOST MY NURSING CAREER DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO DO MY JOB. WALKING AND STANDING, LIFTING, BENDING OR PUSHING A MEDICINE CART FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME IS IMPOSSIBLE. I HAVE BEEN DECLARED DIS-ABLED. *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND BELIEVED THE CRASH WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

WHILE WAITING IN THE TURNING LANE AT A STOP LIGHT, I SUFFERED MULTIPLE INJURIES WHEN I WAS REAR-ENDED BY AN SUV TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I HIT MY THROAT AND CHEST ON THE STEERING WHEEL TWICE DUE TO THE IMPACT. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, NOR WAS I RESTRAINED BY THE SEATBELT. *TR

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG COVER OPENED AND REMAINED FOLDED WITHIN THE AIR BAG AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE DRIVER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK. THE PASSENGER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND WAS ALSO TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE SEAT BELTS WERE WORN AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A ROAD WITH THE SPEED LIMIT BEING 55 MPH WHICH I WAS DOING AND HIT THE EDGE OF THE ROAD ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND WHEN I TURNED THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT THE ENTIRE CAR WENT TO THE LEFT AND THE CAR HIT A TREE HEAD ON AT 55 MPH AND THE NEITHER OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT IN A HOSPITAL PARKING STRUCTURE THE GAS THROTTLE GOT STUCK AND I HIT A BRICK WALL APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MILES IN HOUR. I WAS ONLY APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET FROM THE WALL SO IT WAS A HARD IMPACT. THE AIRBAGS INFLATED IN I HAD MINOR DAMAGES TO MY FACE AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND I WAS APPROXIMATELY GOING 2-3 MILES IN HOUR BECAUSE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF PARKING THE VEHICLE. THE CAR IS COMPLETELY TOTALED AND MY HUSBAND AND I ARE NOW IN THE DEFICIT OF $4,000 AFTER THE INSURANCE PAYOFF.*AK
AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN A MULTI-CAR ACCIDENT.*MR *CB *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION, DUE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT NOT LOCKING THE PASSENGER WENT THROUGH THE WINDSHEILD. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. MR
ON THE 22ND OF OCTOBER MY VEHICLE HAD LOST ITS BRAKES WHILE TRAVELING DOWN A HILL. MY IMMEDIATE RESPONSE WAS TO APPLY MY EMERGENCY BRAKE WHICH DID STOP MY CAR BUT ALSO PROCEEDED TO CAUSE IT TO CRASH. UPON INVESTIGATION BY MY INS. CO. (NATIONWIDE INS.) THEY FOUND THAT BOTH FRONT BRAKE HOSES HAD FRAYED ON THE MALIBU WHICH HAD CAUSED ME TO LOSE MY BRAKES. FURTHER ACTION WILL BE TAKEN TO BE REIMBURSED FOR MY VEHICLE WHICH IS NOW CONSIDERED TOTALLED. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME TYPE VEHICLE AND I AM FURTHER REQUESTING A RECALL ON THE HOSES OF THE MALIBU. A REPORT IS AVAILABLE FROM MY INS. AUTOMATIC WENT FROM PARK TO REVERSE AS I WAS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. DRAGGED ME SOME 30 FEET BEFORE CROSSING I-8 EAST OF SAN DIEGO, CA. I HAD A CHEST CONTUSION, BROKEN TOE ON RIGHT FOOT, AND SEVERE BRUISING WITH BLEEDING.*AK
I BACKED UP MY CAR, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM DISABLED THE MOTOR. I STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS AND LOST MY PERSPECTIVE. I ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO A TELEPHONE POLE CAUSING A HUGE DENT ON MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE QUARTER PANEL. THANK GOD THE POLE WAS THERE OR I MIGHT NOT HAVE REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING. BEHIND ME WAS A ROUT IRON FENCE AND BEYOND THAT WAS A 20 FT DROP (DRIVEWAY HAS A RETAINER WALL THAT IT IS BUILT ON TOP OF. I HAD FILED ANOTHER COMPLAINT. THE CAR HAD DISABLED ITSELF ON A BRIDGE THAT HAS NO SLOW LANE TO STOP IN. I CAN TAKE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE IN THE DAYLIGHT IF NEEDED
