MY SISTER AN I WAS ON A FLIGHT FROM LOS ANGELES, CA INTO DALLAS, TX AT THE AIRPORT WE RENTED A CAR FROM NATIONAL CAR RENTAL TO GO ONTO SHREVEPORT. LA TO SEE OUR SISTER WHO WAS IN HER LAST DAYS WITH HER FIGHT WITH CANCER. WE'RE ON I-20 NORTH DRIVING ALONG THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STEERING WENT OUT OF CONTROL, SPEEDING GOING VERY FAST I COULD NOT STOP, THE WENT OVER INTO THE MEDIN OF I-20 STEAL TRAVEL FAST WENT ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE SOUTH I-20 STILL COULD NOT STOP NO BRAKE WE HIT A CAR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE I-20 THAT WHAT KEEP US FROM GOING OFF I-20 COMPLETELY. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOY AT MY SISTER DIED ON THE SPOT OF THE CRASH, I WAS KNOT OUT AND THE HAD TO BE AIR LIFTED TO THE HOSPITAL IN DALLAS, TX SHE WENT TO THE MORDGE IN TYLER,TX I COULD NOT WALK, SHOULDER BROKE, ARM AND LEGS WE'RE IN BAD SHAPE. THE DAY I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL THE SISTER WE'RE GO TO SEE DIE. THEIR NEVER WAS A OFFICER OF THE LAW TO COME AN TELL ME ANY THING IN REGARD TO THE CRASH, THE GM CHEVROLET 2008 MALIBU WE RENTED ACT JUST LIKE THE OTHER GM VEHICLES IN THE IGNITION RECALL, THE CAR ENGINE, GOING OUT OF CONTROL, STEERING I HAD NO CONTROL , POWERS BRAKES NOT WORKING I COULD NOT STOP, NO AIRBAGS DEPLOY AT ALL GM KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECT AND MY INJURIES AND MY SISTER DEATH DID NOT HAVE TO BE NOT ONLY THAT THIS MODEL WAS NOT IN THE RECALL I NEED SOME ANSWER AS TO WAY THE VERY SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME AND MY IN A FATAL CRASH IN THIS GM PRODUCT A INVESTIGATION NEED TO BE DONE AND I NEED AN WONT ANSWER TO THIS CRASH, MY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME I NEED TO KNOW WHY PLEASE. *TR
ACCORDING TO WITNESS, MY SON WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A TWO LANE MAIN ROAD (ON EACH SIDE). HIS 2008 CHEVY MALIBU WAS ON THE OUTER LANE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN VEERED TO THE LEFT AS IF HEADING TOWARDS A DRIVEWAY ( WHEN HE ORIGINALLY WAS GOING STRAIGHT TO PICK UP A CO WORKER). THE CAR IMMEDIATELY JERKED TO THE RIGHT, CRASHING INTO A TREE, WHERE PARTS OF THE VEHICLE BECAME EMBEDDED INTO THE TREE. MY SON PASSED AWAY INSTANTLY. THE SPEEDOMETER REGISTERED 66 MPH AT IMPACT. HIS ORIGINAL SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 35MPH ESPECIALLY SINCE HE WAS JUST STOPPED AT THE LIGHT. THE WITNESS WAS COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE AND STOPPED HIS CAR WHEN HE SAW MY SON'S VEHICLE CROSSING INTO HIS LANE TOWARDS ONCOMING TRAFFIC. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT RENTED A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED ON THE EXPRESSWAY, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID DEBRIS FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, SHE STRUCK A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AND EXPLODED, BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE VIN AND MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
The steering assist system abruptly stopped allowing the front wheels of the vehicle to be turned to the right while the vehicle was being driven causing me to crash into a ditch and on into a field and caused myself minor injuries..
On 5/23/2022, we were involved in a crash where a loaded asphalt dump truck pulled out in front of us on major highway. Vehicle was totaled from front end impact. Air bags did not deploy!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IT WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL UPON IMPACT. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT INJURIES TO THE HEAD AND A TEMPORARY LOSS OF ORIENTATION. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BY RESETTING THE AIR BAG INDICATOR, AND THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT AND GEAR SHIFT ASSEMBLY WERE REPLACED. ED BOZARTH CHEVROLET (5501 DREXEL ROAD, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA 89130, (702) 967-5500) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT REFERENCED SEVERAL OCCASIONS OF BECOMING LOCKED OUT AND LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE. ALSO, ON ONE OCCASION, THE TRANSMISSION BECAME STUCK IN THE REVERSE POSITION WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE CRASH AND OTHER FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, DROVE INTO A DITCH, AND STOPPED IN AN EMBANKMENT. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND THE GAS INSIDE CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CONTRACT PNEUMONIA. THE CONTACT SUFFERED CHEST PAINS THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO STORAGE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E021000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) WAS RECEIVED OVER ONE YEAR AGO; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

DRIVING ON STRAIGHT ROAD AND CAR SUDDENLY PULLED RIGHT ONTO THE SHOULDER. IT FELT LIKE THE CAR LOST ITS STEERING CAPACITY. TRIED TO CORRECT THE STEERING ONTO THE ROAD AND THEN CAR SPUN 180, THEN HIT DITCH. CAR ROLLED OVER 100 FT. IN AIR AND LANDED ON WHEELS. THE FRONT, NOR SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EVEN WHEN CAR STRUCK THE SIDE ON THE GROUND. CANADA HAS RECALLED 67,000 VEHICLES DUE TO POWER STEERING MOTOR CONTROL MODULE DEFECTIVE. GM NEEDS TO RECALL THESE IN THE US BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. (IT ALMOST KILLED US IF WE DIDN'T HAVE OUR SEATBELTS ON!) *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER PARKING, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY ATTEMPTING TO PUT THE FIRE OUT THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
I backed my car up, put the car in park, opened the door and got out. I walked a few feet away when I noticed the car rolling backwards. The open car door caught a fence which stopped the car from rolling any further. My door was bent backwards. I got into the car from the passenger side. The shifter indicated the car was still in park. Earlier in the day, I drove into my driveway, put the car in park and got out. The car continued to roll forward a few feet before I managed to get back in the car and apply the brake. Again the shifter indicated the car was in park.
INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS LEAKING BAD, LOSS OF STEERING AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSING FOR MANUEL STRENGTH AND TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T CHANGE GEARS AT 85,000 MILES WITHIN THE 1ST I PURCHASED THE CAR
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO ANOTHER CITY STREET MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHICH ENABLED ME TO STRAIGHTEN UP MY WHEEL. DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STRAIGHTEN UP MY WHEEL AFTER STEERING LEFT I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT KNOCKING OFF MY DRIVERS SIDES HEADLIGHT AND FRONT BUMPER COMPLETELY OFF OF MY VEHICLE. AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK HOME THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER START. THE VEHICLE IS NOW AT CAPITOL CHEVEROLET IN AUSTIN TEXAS AND BEFORE REPLACING THE RECALL PARTS THEY INSISTED ON A BATTERY REPLACEMENT I DID REPLACE THE BATTERY AND 3 DAYS LATER THEY CALL AND INSIST ON AN ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT THAT WILL COST ME $800 IN ORDER FOR THEM TO START ON THE REPLACEMENT/ REPAIRS OF THE RECALLS. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR ALL WERE WORKING IN GOOD CONDITION BEFORE THE POWER STEERING ISSUE CAME ABOUT WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I SHOULD NOT BE RELIABLE OF PAYING FOR THIS. THE DEALERSHIP IS ALSO CHARGING ME A $65 TOWING FEE!
I AM A OWNER OF A 08 CHEVY MALIBU LT 2.4 LITER. WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR FROM THE DEALER (USED) FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS IT WAS RUNNING FINE WITH JUST LITTLE MAINTENANCE. WHEN THE THIRD YEAR COMES AROUND I START HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE REDUCE POWER LIGHT. I'VE LOOKED UP FIXES FOR THESE PROBLEMS AND I'M CURRENTLY INVESTED OVER 5,000 ON FIXING THIS PROBLEM AND IT'S STILL NOT FIXED THE DEALER DIDN'T FIX IT OTHER AUTO SHOPS COULDN'T FIX IT AND IT THE ENGINE REDUCE POWER LIGHT ON THE CAR SOMETIMES N SHUTS OFF WHERE IT SITS (LIKE IN BUSY TRAFFIC). I HAVE A [XXX] SON AND I DONT TRUST PUTTING HIM IN MY CAR BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM OF STALLING OUT AND NOT BEING ABLE TO START BACK UP. MY CAR IS A DAILY DRIVER SO IT CUTS OFF IN TRAFFIC, WHEN STOPPED AT REDLIGHTS, TAKES ABOUT 2 TO 3 MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED AND IDLING PROPERLY. I FEAR THAT ONE DAY I WONT BE ABLE TO START MY CAR BACK UP AND GET INTO A CRASH IF IT STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AGAIN. ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM KEEPS FAILING. RECALL WAS REPLACE IN EARLY 2015 AND AGAIN WAS IN THE DEALER ON 12/30/15 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH POWER STEERING FAILING. ON 1/08/15 THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM YET AGAIN FAILED AND THIS TIME THIS POWER STEERING FAILURE CAUSED THE CAR TO GO INTO THE DITCH AND THROUGH A BARB WIRE FEANCE. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AND GENERAL MOTORS DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE SOME KIND OF FIX OR DOES NOT WANT TO ADMIT THERE CAR HAS THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE THE DOCUMENTS FROM THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS SOPOSED TO BE FIXED ON 12/30/15.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT A POWER STEERING MESSAGE DISPLAYED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A CURB AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY AND MOTOR CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY CHEVY MALIBU AND STARTED TO FELL MY CAR START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THEN MY SERVICE ESC WAS POPULATING ON THE DASH AND TRACTION CONTROL HAD BEEN LOST IN THE CAR. I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY BREAKING AS IF THE ABS BREAK SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING IN THE CAR.I GOT THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ENDED UP HITTING A GUARD RAIL. I THEN FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS MULTIPLE RECALLS ISSUED ON MY VEHICLE AND I CALLED THE CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SUPPORT TO DISCUSS THE CURRENT RECALL WHICH APPEARED TO BE THE ISSUE. I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT I COULD DROP MY CAR OFF AT BEST CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND WOULD ASSIST ME. I DROPPED MY CAR OFF, EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. THEY CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW THE RECALL WASN'T THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGHT EVERYTHING I EXPERIENCED WAS LISTED IN THE RECALL.
