ANTI-LOCK BRAKES POSSIBLY FAILED. *TT
MY TEENAGER WAS TRYING TO AVOID A COLLISION RAN OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD CAME BACK ON THE ROAD AND THEN THE CAR WAS HEADED TO LEFT SHOULDER AND (TEENAGER) ATTEMPTED TO STRAIGHTEN THE VEHICLE OUT AND THEN THE VEHICLE RAN BACK OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AGAIN CAUSING A ACCIDENT. TEENAGER SAID VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO STEER AND BRAKES HAD NO EFFECT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE WAITING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DAY MAY 13, 2009 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT HILLSBOROUGH AVENUE AT 12: 15 A DAY. ANOTHER VEHICLE DRIVING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION CROSSED THE STREET TO ENTER THE PARKING LOT OF ROSS. MY WIFE QUICKLY USE THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE WAS WHEN COLLIDED WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE STOPPED. MY WIFE SUFFERED TRAUMA TO THE SPINE AND NECK. BREAKING THE 5TH LUMBAR VERTEBRA AND HERNIATED CERVICAL. NEVER AGAIN COULD WORK OR IT COULD OPERATE. REQUIRES A SPINAL FUSION WHICH COSTS $ 80,000.00. NOW WE KNOW WHY THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND DID NOT PREVENT THE ACCIDENT. *TR
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED,ENGINE POWER WAS LOST, BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. I COULD NOT CONTROL THE VEHICLE,I HIT A POLED,BORKE BOTH LEGS, HAVE A ROD IN FEMUR AND MESSED UP MY KNEE,STILL RECOVERING AND IN AWHEEL CHAIR FOR NOW. *TR
TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND PREPARING TO STOP, AND SUDDENLY A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR END. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, FRACTURED HAND AND WRIST; AND ADDITIONAL INJURIES TO THE EYE, ANKLE, AND RIGHT LEG. THE SEVERE INJURIES RESULTED IN FOUR SURGERIES ON THE HAND AND WRIST, AND TWO SURGERIES ONTHE ANKLE. THE CONTACT STATED ADDITIONAL SURGERIES WERE REQUIRED AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN FRONTAL ACCIDENT. *TR
HAD A SPIN OUT ACCIDENT TRAVELING 55 MPH - 60 MPH, HIT A GUARD RAIL FRONT ENDED, SPUN AND HIT THE REAR END OF CAR ON THE SAME GUARD RAIL, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE COMING TO A STOP FROM 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND DID NOT RESPOND. THE VEHICLE'S FRONT PASSENGER SIDE COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES, ALTHOUGH THE SEATBELTS WERE WORN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE BRAKE FAILURE.
I STARTED MY CAR AND PUT IT IN REVERSE. ACCELERATOR STUCK AND WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR FROM MOVING OR REDUCE ITS SPEED. WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE AND NOT THE ACCELERATOR I RAN ACROSS TWO LANES OF THE HIGHWAY AND SLAMMED INTO A TREE. APPARENTLY I HAVE A TOTALED VEHICLE/MALIBU 2000. TROOPER DID NOT BELIEVE THE ACCELERATOR WAS STUCK. *JB
MY 2000 CHEVY MALIBU WITH ONLY 80,000 MILES HAD A KNUCKLE IN THE FRONT BRAKE SHOWING NO WEAR AND TEAR VEERING ME OFF ROAD ,IM GOING TO KEEP THE PART AND TAKE PICTURES. IT DROVE SMOOTH SINCE I BOUGHT IT. THEN TODAY THE FRONT TIRE FOLDED UNDER. ME AND THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC COULDNT EXPLAIN IT. THE PART SHOWED NO SIGN OF WEAR TO THE AREA THAT BROKE. IVE BEEN LOOKING TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL, CANNOT FIND ONE IF THERE IS LET ME KNOW... THIS IS A VERY BIG DANGER AND IS LIFE THREATENING. AND IT WILL OBVIOUSLY HAPPEN WITHOUT A WARNING. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE MAYBE HAVING THIS HAPPEN AND DONT LIVE TO TELL ABOUT IT BEING THE REASON OR DONT EVEN KNOW TO TELL ABOUT IT. THANX. *NM
DT: CONTACT STATES HER DAUGHTER WAS IN A 4 VEHICLE ACCIDENT, THE FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE FRONT AND THE REAR. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT GOING FAST ENOUGH FOR THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY.*AK
THE BACK BRAKES LOCKED UP AT 55 MPH, WHICH MADE ME LOSE CONTROL AND SLAM INTO A TREE PRETTY HARD. THE ROAD CONDITION WAS PAVED AND DRY. LEGAL PROCEEDINGS WILL OCCUR IF CHEVROLET DOESN'T RESOLVE THIS MATTER! *LA
WHILE DRIVING AT 35MPH CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND NEITHER OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS RENDERED A TOTAL LOSS. THE APPRAISER STOPPED WHEN REPAIRS ESTIMATED EXCEEDED $6700.00. *AK *CB
CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO OPEN DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WITH THE CAR KEYS. AFTER THE KEY, WAS INSERTED AND TURNED, THE DOOR DIDN'T OPENED. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO REPLACE A PART IN THE DOOR(PART UNKNOWN). CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE VEHICLE WAS LIFTED IN THE AIR, WHEN REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE IT WAS NOT CORRECTED. THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, BRAKES AND DOORS. *TS
WHEN VEHICLE FISHTAILED IT WAS HIT IN FRONT END ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND HIT A GUARDRAIL TWICE, CONSUMER SUFFERED INJURIES AND VEHICLE WAS DECALRED A TOTAL LOSS.*JB
2000, CHEVROLET, MALIBU BROADSIDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, AND BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. CONSUMER SUSTAINED KNEE INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL.*AK THE ENTIRE FRONT HOOD WAS KNOCKED TO WINDSHIELD, CONSUMER IS STILL UNDERGOING PYSICAL THERAPY FOR INJURIES. *SLC

WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 61-65MPH & WAS ACCELERATING ONTO FREEWAY WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE ALONG SIDE WAS SLOWING DOWN & THEN SPED UP. TO AVOID IT, CONSUMER WENT AROUND VEHICLE & LOST CONTROL. WENT THROUGH A FENCE & HIT SOME TREES. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.*AK
